This is a deal? how much are these damn guns?
Artistic_Data7887@reddit
About $2600 at my LGS
AssSpackler@reddit
Your LGS price is Fudd pricing :(
BloodyRimhole@reddit
How much can you get them for?
AssSpackler@reddit
$2159 without looking very hard is 10% off. But I don’t want a compensator for USPSA and Sigs name right now is in the dump. Beautiful gun but I’d assumed there would be deeper discounts right now
xangkory@reddit
I get the feelings about Sig. I went back and forth and looked at all the other options and ordered one of these earlier this week.
One of the reasons that I did order this is because both Sig and at least one other company make sight blocks so this will be my LO gun but I still have the option of running the comp when I want since I plan on still primarily shooting CO.
Coyoteishere@reddit
Same reason I picked this up over the 2k11. Really wanted a comp’d 2011, but didn’t want to run it in open, best of both worlds. And I got a bunch of 23 round 320 mags for way cheaper than the other popular 2011 mags go for.
xangkory@reddit
The 23rnd mags really are a bargain compared with other platforms much less 2011 mags
VmaxEngage@reddit
Where are yall finding deals on the 23rd mags?

VmaxEngage@reddit
Thanks!
PresentationEast6685@reddit
Why not just buy the non comp model
xangkory@reddit
Then you don’t have a comp
AssSpackler@reddit
Ahhh so you can run this without the comp?
xangkory@reddit
Here is the aftermarket one I am aware of.

GaBlackNGold@reddit
Sig has one as well now
P211 BARREL BLOCK ASSEMBLY https://share.google/vMk0WQVYrJLEs1Nv7
BloodyRimhole@reddit
Yea I had no clue this was even a thing. Pretty sweet!
PresentationEast6685@reddit
If anything this gun is heavily under priced.
Its the best 2011 I own an it outshoots my staccatos all day long.
If it wasnt for the 320 mess this would be imo much higher. I wouldnt be shocked if they release a leigon model that's near 4k.
AssSpackler@reddit
I’ve been waiting to see them appear in matches or have some kind of presence. I saw a Kimber this weekend shit the bed all day. Sig’s name is radioactive currently but in this price range there isnt a ton of options from big names. If it wasn’t for the 320 I think they would be seen more. The prodigy hasn’t really panned out. I have a Romulus and Mac 9 DS Comp that I love, but they are still budget 2011’s.
BloodyRimhole@reddit
Yea that's definitely a good price. 320 kinda ruined Sig for me but they are super nice guns.
MostlyOkPotato@reddit
thank you AssSpackler and BloodyRimhole, this has been very informative.
bukkake_brigade@reddit
solid dudes
Echo_Raptor@reddit
Sig has always been great at hammer fired guns. The 365 is the only good striker they make
BloodyRimhole@reddit
Yea I always wanted a 226 but I still can't bring myself to do it
Echo_Raptor@reddit
Try a P226 X-Five variant. They’re so, so good. Bonus points if you can find a German X-Five or X-Six. The P226 is just finely crafted and pure quality, you can just tell it’s a German design when compared to the 320
jake55555@reddit
I’ve not shot uspsa, do you not want a comp because it’s restricted within divisions?
AssSpackler@reddit
Yeah sticks you in open. Where the big dog race guns are. Outclassed
jake55555@reddit
That makes sense, thank you.
caterham09@reddit
Normally I see them for $2300, this aint a deal
xangkory@reddit
Where in the hell do you ‘normally’ see them for $2,300? Sportsman’s, Midway, Cabelas, Kygunco all have them for $2,399.
That said if you have ExpertVoice you can get them way cheaper.
GaBlackNGold@reddit
That's how I got mine. With tax and shipping I got the all black one with the Romeo X Pro for $2300.

$2399 is mapp. These are the best performing 2011 style in this price range. The 2K11 pro comp is also really good
AssSpackler@reddit
Best performing? Where’s that information coming from? I get that $2k isn’t much in the 2011 space but they are not dominant in USPSA and match shooting space. Not hassling you, genuinely want to know.
Echo_Raptor@reddit
Countless reviews state it’s close to an XC for half the price, and real world experience will show just how good it is in the $2K-ish price point.
I’ve yet to try the 2K11 comp to see if it’s better performing. I will say the fit and feel of the 2K11 is better than the P211 though. The P211 is no slouch, but it feels more like a mass produced gun than a start/bul/MPA etc
gturnerink91@reddit
I’ll tell you ever since I’ve gotten the p211 I honestly believe it shoots better than my staccatos and is easily level with the xc. I like how it fits my hand better than the xc and the weight. It does shoot better than the 2k11 comp. If I would go back I’d have gotten the p211 before I got the 2k11 comp. I might end up selling the Kimber because of it. Better more reliable mags that are cheaper too. I’m at around 1600rds with zero failures and haven’t cleaned it. Just drop oil on it every 500 or so

&2399 seems to be the standard pricing. I have been watching them and the price has been pretty firm at that.

Sooo.... if anyone still following this, Gun showed up looking certainly used, outside was pretty clean, but on closer look and breaking it open, anywhere from several magazines to maybe a few hundred rounds through it.
Wunktacular@reddit
For two grand there had better be a little gnome in there that swings the hammer.
jtj5002@reddit
Best we can do is some MIM parts.
xenophonthethird@reddit
MIM parts aren't a death knell for a gun. Glock transitioned to using MIM internals early in gen 3, and I've yet to hear anyone say you gotta get a gen 2 Glock because Gen 3 has MIM dogshit.
But Sig's QC does warrant suspicion.
jtj5002@reddit
Having MIM parts isn't the issue, having MIM parts on a midrange $2000 2011 when $500 turkshit uses all billet parts that has gone 10k+ round counts, is the questionable part . And the fact that MIM parts on 1911/2011 parts wear significantly faster than Glock MIM parts. MIM Ambi thumber safeties and Ejectors common to the point that there are really no excuse to not use billet parts. MIM extractors are okay as long as they were properly hand fit to the gun, which might or might not have happened on these mid range 2011s.
Well made MIM parts are fine, most people also don't shoot enough to break MIM parts, but the principle of having them on a $2k gun combined with, well, questionable QC is the problem. Someone's 80 series Sig just converted itself to a 70 series last week because the firing pin block decided to not play anymore.
Trope360@reddit
I get all you're saying but.. is 10k+ round counts supposed to be high? haha one of my M&P's is easily at 50-60k, has MIM parts, eats ass and shoots fast I never have issues or ammo problems. Hell my newest M&P I've probably put 10k/rds thru it in the last 6-8 months. With that said, I have friends that run Kimber 2k11's exactly to your notes of MIM parts on 2011's and def have 10k down the pipe if not more without issue. Not trying to argue, but I see a lot more issues with Atlas's and MPA's than Kimber 2k11's in the USPSA world from those of us running 2k+rds/mo, don't get me started on CZ S2's. I do know someone with a P211 that's M class, I'll ask him his round count Sunday if I see him - I just like real world in-person experience in these discussions.
OceanAteCali@reddit
keyboard warriors in swing who barely send 200 rounds a year talking about mim parts is hilarious.
Gecko23@reddit
I wasn't even aware of the MIM bogeyman until I started hanging around 1911/2011 forums. It's a very localized hangup.
jtj5002@reddit
I'm only A class and no I don't have that high of a round count, and I have no doubt that properly made MIM parts have long enough service life even for some comp shooters. But how do you know if your particular MIM parts are properly QC'd via density measurement and/or Xray'd individually? We've seen P365s that broke the extractor before even firing a single shot, and we have P365s that has gone forever with no issues, because the first one had a obvious bad cast with air bubbles that you could see when it broke. If Kimber is Xraying every MIM part individually, then sure, you can sleep tight knowing that your particular gun is fine because all of them are.
You can ask your friend his P211 round counts but a simple size like that is largely irrelevant, because he could have all perfectly cast parts. Someone else might have one that doesn't. I have a small collection of broken Sig small parts and I'm sure you would have seen more post of 80% of the population weren't banned from the Sig sub.
Trope360@reddit
"Only A" my brother A is huge and if you've done it without a ton of live fire, that's solid. Now, in the same regard of tolerances, you can say the exact same thing for cast, billet and forging. You seem to know a bit about manufacturing and then you know that any process mentioned has failure rates and doesn't come out perfect 100% of the time. Even high end computer driven multi-axis CNC, and in the process of billet the physical billet stock can have flaws. Realistically, every single process and firearm out there has a certain error percentage - that's manufacturing. QC comes into play as you mentioned on all of the above.
While I agree, a low sample size isn't everything, at what point is it relevant? Let's take an SRO as an example. Of the 7 people I was at the range with a couple days ago that all had owned one, they all have broken at least one, some two. Now, Trijicon has sold millions of SRO's, it's doesn't matter and we won't know the real number but let's call it 5 million. Again, 7 / 5,000,000 is anecdotal and "largely irrelevant" correct? Buying 7 lotto tickets doesn't give you a chance in hell at winning. But the fact that every single guy I train with has broken an SRO makes me thing those things break and are not super durable like other optics, would you agree? I wouldn't exactly say it's irrelevant that every single person I train with has broken their SRO, no?
Wunktacular@reddit
Glock isn't selling a $2,000 pistol marketed as a premium luxury item. Injection molding is used to save money to bring down the bottom line of value pistols, IM markings have no place on what is supposed to be a top end gun.
They want Dan Wesson money for a pistol with pot metal on it.
Echo_Raptor@reddit
The P211 isn’t marketed as a luxury item either. Sig’s higher end stuff typically hovers in the $2000+ price range. They used to only exclusively sell high end stuff until Sig USA took over and the 365/320 were their bread and butter (320 not so much anymore). Sig’s best performing stuff, the MCX/MPX platform, spear, 516, 226 x5 etc are all high end but not “luxury”. Their luxury stuff is the p210, reserve series, commemorative releases, etc
xenophonthethird@reddit
MIM doesn't mean worse quality either. If the part is made well and can do it's job, why not making it in an efficient, lower waste method? And MIM doesn't mean pot-metal either, as many knife "super steels" are made through a MIM process. That comes down to quality assurance.
Making small parts out of a large billet would absolutely be "premium luxury" but also extremely wasteful.
ServileLupus@reddit
Well the dude running Sig now is the same run that ruined kimber's reputation that they've now been clawing back since he left to ruin SIG instead.
cyclorphan@reddit
yeah, depending on the part, a well done MIM part is just fine.
Echo_Raptor@reddit
It’s close to an XC in performance (though the XC is better built) for half the price. Yeah, $2000+ is a lot for a pistol but given how well it performs it’s a relative bargain if you want something like that
RotaryJihad@reddit
The fuck is Sig Loc? There's another optic footprint?
Diligent-Parfait-236@reddit
Buddy, half off all pistol dot footprints are things Sig came up with for a single red dot.
RotaryJihad@reddit
I'm not your buddy, pal...
reflex906@reddit
I’m not you pal, guy…
vortigaunt64@reddit
I'm not your guy, fwiend!
Echo_Raptor@reddit
It locks the optic in under the slide, honestly a good idea it’s just proprietary and only works on the higher end sig pistol optics
TooEZ_OL56@reddit
It has most typical optics compatibility, but the secret sauce is the screws mount from the frame side upwards, rather than the slide side downwards.
https://www.sigsauer.com/sig-loc
The Pro is that it should be much less prone to loosening
The Con is that if for some reason it does loosen up instead of just a loose optic you're likely bricking the gun.
Clinicus22@reddit
It’s doctor but has a channel for locking with sig optics without affecting doctor compatibility
MissionClock7762@reddit
Well over $2k and probably still filled with MIM parts...hell naw!
I paid $375 out the door for my Sig 1911 Scorpion because the pawn shop thought it was stuck. The MIM slide release was broken and the gun was so dirty that it was stuck half open. It broke free for me with a little lube and some elbow grease. Replaced the slide stop, fitted up much tighter barrel bushing and recently I had it optic cut. With the new fitted bushing it's been a great pistol...but sheesh they could at least use forged parts like Tisas for the money they ask. Springfield too lol both of my SA 1911 have a lot of MIM junk!
General-Shape-5621@reddit
Nah, just sold my p320 axg classic cause I didn’t trust it anymore
dead-first@reddit
I feel like the next version of the gun will be the one to buy... Their first version is an experiment
Go_cards502@reddit
Some recent reports of these breaking. I wouldn't pay that when there are better 2011 options for way cheaper.
OceanAteCali@reddit
your a little late to the party. the plugs have been fixed and the feature set and ability to change out the sight block makes it some of the best bang for buck 2011. kimber is the other option but doesnt have the versatility. this is better than a MAC or TISAS as well.
Go_cards502@reddit
Pretty sure I'm not. These are very recent reports of the failures
gturnerink91@reddit
Yeah they’ve already started replacing them. They sent mine for free but there was nothing wrong with the plastic plug. Most people were putting the spring with the open end against the plug when the directions specified to put the closed end against it. I’ve never had a problem with mine and I don’t clean it.
Ok_Worldliness1836@reddit
After watching Trench Grenade absolutely ruin one by just shooting it..not a chance.
gturnerink91@reddit
I also watched a video of a guy that has over 5k without cleaning it and it’s been flawless for him. Or competitiveshootersjourney who absolutely loves his and recommends them. Big reason why I got mine and it’s one gun that I’ll never sell.
Fitz19d@reddit
You realize that guy is an utter joke right. Not to say their pre installed optic failed wasn't comical. Generally really good results as far as actual owners on FB groups, YouTube people after the initial release glazing that should be rightfully ignored. Both it and the Kimber have examples of qc issues but still in a clear middle ground between the sub 1k and going over 3
Ok_Worldliness1836@reddit
His data is valid
Fitz19d@reddit
You keep believing that, the good thing is, nothing he says or the few potatoes that follow him matters or changes much.
Echo_Raptor@reddit
Trench grenade? Come on man.
Watch Aaron Cowan for reviews if you want somebody unbiased. He owns Sage dynamics, so je has no incentive either way when it comes to guntuber reviews, especially ones that put sig clickbait in half their videos
FreNnPrenS@reddit
These are great, very flat and a lot of fun to shoot. $200 cheaper than I paid for mine shortly after release.
soundofreedom@reddit
Came here to say the same. Seems like a lot of money but better value/$ than Staccato or the equivalent IMHO. Very impressed with mine.
FreNnPrenS@reddit
Half the cost of a Staccato with probably 80-90% of the shooting experience of a Staccato XC
Icy_Turnover1@reddit
This is true of the MAC 9 DS comp as well, which is less than half the cost of this.
Echo_Raptor@reddit
The Mac 9 DS comp is a bargain for the money but it’s not in the same performance as an XC or 211
Icy_Turnover1@reddit
I own an XC and the MAC is easily 80% as good. The real issue with the MAC is that the grip sucks.
paperkeyboardalt@reddit
A lot of people swap out the MAC grip with a prodigy grip for about $100.
Careful_Butterfly359@reddit
This takes better mags. Really the best deal in the 2011 world is the Platypus
Icy_Turnover1@reddit
Yeah the cheaper mags is a super fair point, I was just talking about performance.
Careful_Butterfly359@reddit
Not only cheaper, just better. Having to tune a magazine or worry about its reliability after dropping it is just a non starter for me. I had a Tisas and I sold it just because the mags were so finicky. If there’s one saving grace about the P320, it’s that it has pretty decent mags.
Fearless-Jeweler-318@reddit
modern sig really needs to pick a niche and focus on it. they make everything from binos to 2011s to hunting rifles to lpvos to red dots but none of it is particularly good or even worth getting
Mightknowitall@reddit
Have you shot a P211? It may be the best bang for your buck right now in the 2011 world. The Kimber 2K11 might be the only other competitor. But, you can run cheap P320 mags in this instead of expensive 2011 mags
BloodyRimhole@reddit
What about Bul and Platypus?
Echo_Raptor@reddit
I’ve shot both, and many other 2011s. The platy’s alright. Bul is incredibly good but proprietary mags and almost no aftermarket.
xangkory@reddit
I just went down the rabbit hole with all of the 2011s this month and ordered a p211.
Bulls are good but you’ve got proprietary magazines. Platypus solves the mag issues but you either have to go comp or no comp.
With this you can either run the comp or run a sight blocks. Other big advantages to me for this are removable grip panels, heavier but well balanced and you can get good 23rnd magazines relatively inexpensively.
Mightknowitall@reddit
Bul is the other option i’ve heard is up there in price/quality. But IIRC they can be hard to get (I may be wrong).
combat_machine@reddit
I wasn’t super impressed when I shot it.
Echo_Raptor@reddit
I mean that’s not true.
There are some garbage sig stuff and there’s some really good sig stuff. Their high end stuff is REALLY good but their low end/entry stuff is very hit or miss.
The 365 needs to be their only striker, and let the FCU become modular to take on both carry and full size. It’s a proven platform and the 320 isn’t.
Focus on the Romeo X, 2, 4 and 5 and cut the rest.
The P226 has an incredible legacy behind it and one of if not the best handgun ever made.
Stop making 100 different AR variants, make one solid AR and then continue the MCX/MPX line.
Sig used to be synonymous with HK and Walther in German high quality and that’s what they need to go back to. German Sig stuff, even people that don’t like Sig, can’t deny the quality there
TooEZ_OL56@reddit
That's a feature, not a bug in their opinion. Whole reason they make their own lights now instead of slapping legion logo on X300's.
The_Longest_Shot@reddit
I don't know, I have some image stabilizing binoculars from Sig that I absolutely love for medium-range glassing. Glass quality is Sig (meh), but the price and image stabilization make them perfect for backpack hunting, allows me to nix the spotter and tripod. My 365XL fucks as well.
Sig scope rings, 320, and Zero red dot are slop. So I get your overarching point.
BiggyIrons@reddit
Almost everything they make has issues. I own a few sig products and about 50% of them have has some issue that Ive needed to work around
