4070 TI vs 9070 XT

I currently run a 4070ti with an i7 and I recently bought a 49" 32:9 OLED ultrawide monitor. I literally only play Warzone and even low settings is giving me around 100 fps thanks to the crazy resolution I get. I don't want to change the game resolution and currently cannot afford another RTX but I recently saw that 9070 XT might be a better choice for me. What would you guys suggest?
Note: I know a lot of you might suggest changing the monitor or the resolution settings for the game but I am stuck with this monitor because I bought it from Samsung Canada directly and they don't take monitors back once you open the box. Changing resolution makes the game very weird because I don't like the extra black space on both ends.

A 9070 XT is a great card but it's only 10-15% faster than the 4070 ti. Are you using DLSS? I don't think it's worth the upgrade but you can get a lot more mileage out of your current card by using more aggressive upscaling. DLSS ultra performance. You can also lower the resolution without changing the aspect ratio. You didn't mention the resolution of your monitor but as long as the ratio is 32:9 you won't have black bars. 5120x1440=3840x1080=2560x720.

not just 10-15%. i got both 4070 ti 12gb and 9070xt and for instance on total warhammer 3 battle benchmark at 3440x1440 9070xt gets 106 fps and 4070 ti gets 76 fps. thats lot bigger difference than just 15%.

I don’t use DLSS as it introduces input lag. I also want to keep playing at 1440p. 9070xt is only 10-15% - is this comparison applicable to all settings? Would it be faster if I play on low settings to prioritize performance ?

Upscaling should not cause input lag. Are you thinking of frame generation? I never use frame gen either because it increases latency so I get it but all upscaling does is render at a lower native resolution then upscales to your monitor's resolution. It doesn't generally cause input lag. Console gamers have upscaling on for CoD by default and they don't even know it. If you turn on DLSS it will give you the option to enable frame gen or not.
The 9070 XT is 15% faster across pretty much all settings with the gap closing to about 10% with Ray tracing on and getting wider at higher resolutions and settings because the 9070 XT has more VRAM.

I’ve tried with dlss. It certainly gives better fps but the quality especially the sharpness of the game reduces significantly compared to using Fidelity CAS. I’ve tried a bunch of settings and I am currently at the best settings that I want (+low/off on all quality settings). At this point it looks more like a GPU upgrade because 4070 ti is not able to deliver what I need. I also have a 27inch Alienware monitor which gives me 200+ fps on the exact same settings. But since i now have a Dual QHD, it’s no surprise it drops by 50% (since it’s 2 * 27” now)

Have you swapped dlss to 4.5?

The difference should be closer to 20-25% if you're using the non super 4070ti at 1440p due to the better memory bandwidth. This difference should hold approximately true for low settings as well. In cod games, the 9070xt generally performs similar or slightly better than a 5080 at 1440p, so you're looking at close to a 50% uplift in cod.

I think i will have to give it a shot.
nvidiot@reddit
You have to remember while that is usually the rule, COD is an outlier. It's the only game where AMD absolutely destroys nVidia in a huge margin. So for people like OP who say they only play COD, 9070 XT outperforms 4070 Ti by significantly higher margins than the normal expected 10\~15% value.
Only card that solidly beats 9070 XT in COD is 5090, so that automatically makes it the best GPU for COD for most people.
GioCrush68@reddit
I actually didn't know that CoD heavily favored AMD because I don't play CoD anymore but if that's the case I am more comfortable telling OP to go ahead and upgrade. A 30% upgrade is very worth it whereas a 10-15% upgrade feels more like a sidegrade.
nvidiot@reddit
If you want to improve performance of COD Warzone, getting a 9070 XT would be a substantial performance upgrade for that specific use case. AMD cards basically perform roughly one tier above equivalent nVidia card, so in case of 9070 XT, it performs around / slightly better than a 5080 would in Warzone.
Go for it.

Have you tried the new dlss on ultra performance mode? You should force preset L in Nvidia app. It's made for 4k screens. I don't play warzone anymore more every game iv tried it on my 4000 card it helped I only play on 4k screens.
thesaifispot@reddit (OP)
DLSS introduces input lag and I play competitively so I don’t use DLSS.
Diedead666@reddit
Wrong. That's frame gen. Dlss doesn't on its own. It's come a long way.
thesaifispot@reddit (OP)
I’ve tried the upscaling dlss too. It gives better frames but the quality is vastly reduced. Some elements become blurry from distance. I immediately switched back to Fidelity CAS which is much better.
Diedead666@reddit
Depends on the game. I don't play warzone anymore don't recall what dlss setting I used. Marvel rivals looks decent at ultra performance with new dlss. Battfield 6 does not, but it's good at balanced dlss. It gets too soft below that. Forza Motorsports looks good with dlss ultra performance that helps my 3080 run much higher setting as it saves vram. I'm talking to 4k. If your going to 1440 screen ultra performance is too low.
Background-Bend2122@reddit
Have you used dlss swapper?
Diedead666@reddit
nvidia app and have used swapper in the past
Munvus@reddit
Very dumb wtf
Munvus@reddit
Dumb dum dumb
YourMajesty90@reddit
Not really. Your info is dated
AdstaOCE@reddit
AMD is the clear option right now at least in most of the world.
deTombe@reddit
Warzone is CPU heavy which model of I7 are you using?
thesaifispot@reddit (OP)
I’m using 13th Gen i7-13700F
deTombe@reddit
Make sure to turn off Core Isolation features like memory integrity in Windows defender. Verify that you have XMP enabled to cover all your bases.
thesaifispot@reddit (OP)
Yes i checked those, but it isn’t helping either.
deTombe@reddit
Which motherboard are you using on the latest BIOS? Have you tried using Nvidia app game optimization. Also you should try Nvidia super resolution you need to enable it in the Nividia control panel.
