First batch Blems. 0.920″ profile with flutes. NOT FOR USE WITH 22LR.
Our First batch was a bit rough and the blems include: Lack of chamfer on flute edges (not sharp, but not comfortable to hold), slight chatter in chamber, extractor cut is blued rather than nitrided due to rework on depth. Functional barrels priced to move off our shelves.
No thread protector included on blems.
2nd run of both fluted and pencil barrels (without blems) coming soon!

Today I learned 21 Sharp exists.

And that is one sign of the success of a product that was introduced in 2024--it has not gotten a lot of interest by shooters. On the low end it starts off being priced at more than 3 times the price of bulk 22LR. copper bullets cost more. Only Winchester makes ammo for it as they are the one who designed the cartridge. Given the reputation of Winchester/Browning 22LR I sure hope their 21 Sharp ammo maintains better quality. At least with its high velocity and deep penetration is has some advantage. No one seemed to find any advantage to 30 Super Carry other than get 2 more rounds in a magazine.
I wonder how 21 Sharp compares to 1470 FPS Aguila Interceptor or CCI Velocitor or faster Stinger and Stanger rounds.
There are other new Winchester cartridges that you may not now exists such as 17 WSM.

In our testing, it's much more accurate than hyper velocity 22lr and the 34gr JHP screams at 1600+ fps in a 16" barrel.

I think if an ammo company like Eley ran some production (like they did for 17hm2 in the early days) it would be a major contender. The Winchester ammo shoots pretty close to 1moa, which tells me there's a lot of potential.

Bro I kept thinking 21 Sharp was a brand name of 10/22 barrels til I saw their suppressor statement saying "21 sharp ammo" and then reading online, it seems 17HMR outperforms it and is cheaper sooo another boutique round that can come and go without a real ideal application?

sooo in learning we'd really be comparing 17HM2 to 21 Sharp right? And checking ammoseek (with free shipping not the crap offers with rating a <4 s/h rating) and I'm seeing Winchester 21 sharp at 14.9cpr that's a HP super X, then on the 17HM2 side I'm looking at CCI 17HM2 VNT which is a poly tipped nickel plated brass for 15.3cpr, or Hornady Vmax at the same price. For $4 more per 1000 I'd for sure want CCI or Hornady over Winchester.
I don't have a dog in this race tbh but the only ammo I see for 21sharp on ammoseek is Winchester Super-X which... even in 22LR I do my best to avoid Winchester..

17HM2 is one of my personal favorite rounds, it's just a tad too sketchy in semi-autos to be able to commercialize. Having shot a ton of both 17hm2 and 21, the 21 is similarly impressive. We have no dog in the ammo fight either, but jumped at a chance to chamber our AR22s in something different and fun, and the 10/22 barrel is an offshoot of that.
The 21 Sharp RIPS in FRT builds -- 1750 rounds per minute.

Ah cool thanks for the insight, I like what you guys do btw wasn't trying to hate on anything just like to look into these things. Tis the tism. I haven't played with FRT at all really, don't have an application for it tbh, more on the "trying to consistently perform at M level in practical shooting and hit more major matches" but I know it's all the rage.

It's a sweet little cartridge and the ammo runs a lot higher than box velocity. The 34JHP is 1600+ fps in our testing is a nasty little round on soft targets -- it makes perfect tiny mushroomed bullets.

I was looking at reamers again today.. so close to being possible without any custom reamers, unless the actual cutting end is smaller. I think I went through most of their .22lr listing.

While we DO NOT recommend it, we did fire 22 shorts through a 21 sharp chamber/bore. Irratic accuracy and velocity.

No, unless you do additional preparation on the front end to remove the nitride. We're not going to recommend cutting a 22lr chamber into a 21 bore and then firing the 50gr, it'll likely be ruptured cases galore at best. We can try it on an non-nitrided AR22 or CZ barrel, though. Remind us in a month or so and we'll do it and let you know the results, good or bad. Or make a YouTube video on it better yet.

Just because, maybe there's some advantage to increasing the ballistic coefficient for free or something like that. Who knows, maybe it has no benefit to anything except the bore stays cleaner because pressures are higher. Money lost, knowledge gained.
It's got me thinking about setting up a 6 mm barrel to shoot 257 bullets for certain competitions that have an inherent bias against 6 mm because of available bullets heavy enough to meet match rules. Ackley and Hatcher did worse...
