If you want an HK, don’t settle for a clone. If you already are saying you might just grab a clone you’re not gonna be happy until you get the real deal.
You could get a cheap clone and it could run well, or you may get one and it come sloppily made or you’ll have to swap parts out with genuine HK parts to get it to function correctly. You’ll spend more on the real deal but it’s going to run and keep running

While I do agree in the grand scheme of things under normal circumstances, they are probably going to be banned in my state in 3 months, I can only load up on so many pews. The bigger toss up for me at this point is get a clone and a few other cool toys while I can or spend nearly every penny I've got on the real deal. I've been eyeing the PTR and Century MKEs.

Call around. I just started calling LGS’ last year til I found one, they had a few left and were running a sale, $2599. I made a day of it and drove a couple hours, checked out the other stores in the area while I was there, did some other shopping, etc.

It happened before the tariffs, they just didn’t help. They were slowing going OOS on the distributor websites and that’s when I jumped. Then they went OOS everywhere and HK hasn’t replenished since then. So now they’re $3000 used and $3200+ new unless you can find a vendor that still has stock trickling in or an LGS that has them

Any .22 "version" of a gun is literally just a shitty blowback .22 shoved into a shell that looks like the original. Most the time they aren't even made by the same company, just sold under license. I'd be surprised if there was a a single part compatibility.
