What type of blinds worked well for your home office and video conferencing?

Moved house (yay!) and screwed up my home office design by having built in desk, built in with windows behind me (boo).
Only now have I realised my silly mistake - but I am starting interviewing for new jobs.
Right now the video conference image looks awful with a overexposed background.
Fiddling with camera settings improves - but still bad.
So - Blinds!
There seems to be a lot of choice.
Blackout - Sheer - Light Defusing.
What has worked for you?
I do have a Skylight as well in this - so will get some natural light.
I am just now sure if I should be going for full blackout or some softer type to defuse.
Window faces West - so gets a lot sun.

Maybe go for a diffuse window film instead?
Cheap, simple to install, and if it's no good for you then you've spent less than a tenner on it.

I had vertical blackout blinds but found the light on the white window sill underneath them was still too much glare.
Recently got some faux wood horizontal blinds (which can go all the way to the bottom) and they work really well

I just use a wooden Venetian blind. You can adjust the slats so you aren’t working in a blacked out cave and still get a bit of daylight (ie point the slats downwards facing out if that makes sense). Also useful to deflect too much solar gain in the pm.

Personally I would go for blinds that defuse the light and blackout curtains. You get the best of both worlds, extra light when it's a bit gloomy and the option of blocking the light if it's too sunny.
