I spectated a match a couple weekends ago. A guy was out there with his “heavy barrel” Sig Cross variant. Really poor performance even compared to other new guys with Ruger Precision Rifles and whatnot. Realistically even the “better” options in the price range are far from optimal (Bergara HMR, Tikka CTR, etc). Think you’re looking around at least $2-2.5k for a remotely serious rifle (MPA PMR Pro), before accessories

What’s most popular near you? All we have here is PRS so it’s an easy decision lol. A lot of the lighter weight stuff for NRL or sniper challenge matches gets really expensive really quick, even compared to some of the baseline PRS stuff

I personally have noveske, solgw, and Shaw barrels and they’ve all been good. Noveske barrels ship with a matched bolt. I also have a rexus bolt. Again, both good. If you want to spend more, proof, bartlein, craddock are held high in regard.
Duramag makes 15s and banana 26s, I prefer the g$ 20s and 30s, even tho they’re more expensive.
Ammo, check ammoseek for hornady black 105s or eldm 108s. Should be 130cpr or so.
If you don’t want to build and are looking high end, the g$ 6arc offerings while spendy seem super well done. ADM just launched their own 6arc rifles with criterion barrels. If I was starting from zero with 6arc, I’d buy the g$ stratomatch for a competition gun. Also you can try to get on ridgeline’s 6arc waitlist.
