TLDR: 24 inch barrel 3486fps first round does not penetrate, second round does. The only 5.56 round that penetrates ***some*** level 4 plates is M995.

Funny enough, I watched that video last night. Crazy work. Don't know if he penetrated because it was near the bottom of the plate, or because it was the second shot, but even still, it requires a 24" barrel to penetrate which just isn't feasible. Especially at 50/50 chance to punch through.
Now, I'm curious if 22 arc loaded with the same bullet and nas3 technology could pull it off as it innately has 5 more grains of powder room over 5.56. or if someone could makes m855a1 in 6mm arc, if that round with nas3 might be capable.
Either way though, the barrel lengths required to pull this off are still relatively unfeasible. Even if the arc series could do it in 18"-20", those are still long ass guns. It's understandable why SIG had to step up to a intermediate sized casing to make 277 fury work out of a barrel as short as 11"/13"

is 22 arc bolt action only? 6mm enhanced barrier penetrator round is infeasible, the bullet would be a different geomtry and we can't just take m855a1 and reload it. we only get gray market m855a1 bc of how much it is used and produced, the government doesn't want us to get our hands on AP ammo.
We'll see how the 277 fury real AP round does when someone gets their hand on some. The 277 fury GP round (277 equivalent of M855a1) penetrates some level 4 out of a 16 inch barrel civilian version. Out of the short 11"/13" barrel I don't see it happening, unless pressure is cranked up even more

22 arc and 6mm arc are the same thing, so if there's 6mm gas guns, there's 22 arc gas guns.
277 fury seems to be pumping out 3000 ft lbs of energy out of 16". Even nas3 5.56 isn't peaking past 2000 and 6mm arc is under 1700 before we consider hybrid casings. The sheer case capacity increase by going to an AR-10 platform allows so much more energy delivery.
I'm mostly referring to m855a1 in 6mm arc if the DoD places an order for the design of one, as they are the adopters of 6mm arc. Not that I could show a 22 cal in a 243 chamber.

You’re missing the most important part, these are two piece construction with the case head being made of steel. Same trick as the .277 sig fury. Enables insane chamber pressures for some potentially wild terminal ballistics from a cartridge this small.

I mean, that's cool, but brass casings aren't really the weak point of the AR-15. If you try to jack-up the pressure, at some point the primer will pop because it's not a fancy nickel alloy, or the bolt lugs will shear off and your upper detonates. The M7 was designed for the pressures these cases allow, but the AR-15 and pretty much every other rifle wasn't. So it's legit cool, but it's only one piece of the system.

the 855A1 projectile, and by extension the ammunition itself is a controlled ammunition, it's not *really* supposed to be available on the civilian market. Limited availability and information outside of military circles leads to obvious amounts of fudd lore and supply/demand dynamics. Once again reminded of the time I almost got into an argument with some fudd claiming the 855A1 he was selling was tungsten tipped (it's not, it's a bismuth-steel penetrator, tungsten is reserved for the M995 AP)

GRT shows a chamber pressure of 107K if I put the 29.6gr load data into an existing load that uses H335. With a 20" barrel that gets a 69gr going 3400 FPS with 2433 J of energy.
