Pitiful-Emu-2663@reddit
I just spend $100 more getting this through Silencer shop yesterday, but I’m retarded and it was my first one so I’m chalking it up to a convenience tax
fadedsociety@reddit
I did as well, but SS said they are back ordered for 4-6 weeks if not longer. I purchased it from the link above and they have in stock and ready to ship (confirmed with them before purchasing).
RyAllDaddy69@reddit
This would still come from Silencer Shop, that’s the crazy part. This place doesn’t have shit in-stock, it’s all SS’s stock.
iliekdrugs@reddit
Once you have everything in the Silencer Shop system it makes everything a lot easier, cause your FFL can still use their system to file stuff you didn't buy from them. It's super convenient for both you and the FFL, makes it too easy
epicchocoballer@reddit
You’re probably not paying a transfer tax, which for NFA items are about $75+, so don’t feel too bad
cannabination@reddit
Thanks for that. Not who you're responding to but in the same boat, I didn't consider the transfer.
epicchocoballer@reddit
To be honest with you I prefer just buying suppressors from my local FFL. Their NFA transfer fee is only $75 which is cheaper than most in my area but personally I’ve found the best deals online to only be ~$40 more locally
Electronic_Ad47@reddit
I did that with the last 4 suppressors I bought. I asked my local FFL if they could match the online price and they were able to get it close enough for me to buy.
NumRickn@reddit
I did the same, on the plus side, you saved 50-100 in NFA transfer fees.
Also, for the future: go to Printscan/UPS and have them do your ATF fingerprints. They'll send you the file which you then have forever. You can use it for any other vendor. Silencershop will not give you the file, in order to keep you in their ecosystem.
Electronic_Ad47@reddit
Depending on what your FFL charges for NFA transfers, you probably would have ended up paying the same price. Silencershop has always been more convenient for me, so I don't mind paying a little extra.
KurtActual@reddit
Man, I need an NFA shop that keeps these deals legit
-1----1-@reddit
The few around me are about $60-70. Not bad considering what they have to do.
0ptimuspwn@reddit
Submit a filled out form? Is there more than that other than taking delivery?
-1----1-@reddit
Mine does eforms and I use a trust so it’s a little more involved but yeah, they just fill out some paperwork.
Omnicious_Slap@reddit
lmfao what.
them clicking upload document that they likely received through email is that much more involved?
-1----1-@reddit
More involved with 1 more form, yeah, I agree though, their fees are crazy for doing some paperwork online
Shit the last FFL I used he made me fill out the 5320 and scan it and email it to them, then called me in and had me help them fill the eforms out and still charged me $80 🤦🏻
Omnicious_Slap@reddit
Fam the fact that it only takes me an extra 30 seconds myself to do a form1 via trust compared to form 1 w/o a trust does not make it more complex or requiring more detail. Sure they have to participate for literally 30 seconds more, but most of the 30 seconds is waiting for Eforms to load.
Theres a reason other people are downvoting your original comment because you're saying a trust requires more effort, but if you think them clicking their mouse a few extra times makes them more involved, have at it.
-1----1-@reddit
Idgaf about a downvote lol. I’m just saying what my FFL told me. Filling out the 5320.23 is simple for you and me, sure, but he complained that it takes him longer on his end. I’m not saying it’s rocket science, just that it’s more steps than a straight individual eForm. That’s all I meant.
Omnicious_Slap@reddit
Clicking download, clicking upload, and choosing file.
That takes soooo much longer /s
He's probably a boomer that refused to learn how to use a computer. Justifying their incompetency ain't it.
ChevTecGroup@reddit
For customers that know how to fill out a rpq its not much more work. When you have to walk them through it, yeah it can be.
But that also goes for the form 4 as well. Some are easy and quick, some need every bit explained to them.
How long have you had your ffl?
Omnicious_Slap@reddit
the only part of the rpq that would be causing issues would be the LEO notification section cause most people don't know who that is.
Quick google search fixes that for the individual doing it.
Other than that, the RPQ is self explanatory just like a 4473 is.
-1----1-@reddit
Yeah he’s a boomer. I’m not justifying anything, I’m literally telling you what he complained about. I agree the process is simple, but he acted like it was a whole project. I was on the phone with him for like 20 minutes while he tried to figure out what he had to attach with the trust, so that’s why I mentioned it. Trust or individual, it all takes a few minutes either way.
I probably used the wrong wording when I said ‘more involved.’ It’s just one extra form, idk. That’s all I meant.
GrouchTheMongolian@reddit
im just here for the popcorn
ChevTecGroup@reddit
Time = money.
You know how many six figure jobs are "just filling out forms?"
Now I get it that a lot of shops charge a ton. But there is a but that goes into compliance and making sure the job is done right.
KnifeActual@reddit
I’m in south Austin and can’t find anyone who will do transfers for less than $75. Kills these deals for me too
fitzy2449@reddit
Zero whiskey tactical in north Austin will do it for 60
RyAllDaddy69@reddit
This ain’t the one.
FUCK BLACKSTONE. This is not in-stock. They just took a month to get my suppressor that they already had “in-stock”.
I specifically bought from them because they had it in-stock, even though they’re an hour and 15 minutes from my house.
After going in-store and doing all the Silencer Shop kiosk shit, I got ZERO communication for 3 weeks. Finally somebody told me the truth, “we’re waiting on a Form 3”. I asked why they would need to wait on a Form 3 when they had it in-stock and they told me “it’s being shipped from the warehouse”.
My suspicion is their “in-stock” cans are in-stock at Silencer Shop. Bunch of lying fucks. The wait is already irritating enough, but adding 4 weeks and 2 days to certify is fucking bonkers.
Primary_Tree7436@reddit (OP)
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience last time man - I’m not entirely sure what happened with your order but if you email support@blackstoneshooting.com we will always take care of it if you have issues. We had 150 of these polonium k suppressors in-stock and no we do not drop ship from SilencerShop. We recently just rolled out a new website and our inventory is 100% in-stock if it says available.
RyAllDaddy69@reddit
I appreciate you replying to this man and I’ll save that email. I enjoyed checking out the store and the guys working in there seemed like solid dudes. I was a little heated when I typed this.
With that being said, I called and talked to customer support at least twice. The first time I was told they would look into it and get back to me…then I heard nothing and had to call back a couple days later, which is when I was told we’re waiting on a Form 3.
It just wasn’t expected and it added 4 1/2 weeks to an already 4-5 week wait for filing with a trust.
It’s looks like you guys fixed it, so I’m going to edit my original comment.
Primary_Tree7436@reddit (OP)
No worries man, we’ve all been there. In your defense 4.5 weeks is unacceptable on our part and definitely far from the norm. Our old website was a hot mess but everything should be much smoother with the new tech stack. Not to mention we have doubled our support team in house. Please let us know if we can help you with anything in the future!
nuprotocol@reddit
Same happened to me. Glad to know it wasn't a fluke and in stock doesn't actually mean in stock. They told me the can I was purchasing just happened to sell out before I checked out. However, the can displayed in stock at the time of purchase, in stock during checkout and in stock after receiving email confirmation. Extremely frustrating.
Primary_Tree7436@reddit (OP)
Hey - sorry to hear you had issues. We recently switched website providers and the overselling issues have been resolved. Apologies for your previous experience- it should be much better going forward. Our team is always here to help
nuprotocol@reddit
Good to know. I assume this means if the can displays as "in stock" on your website, that now means it's on hand and at your physical location? I understand we still have to wait on approval, but it sounds like no more waiting on transfer to Blackstone than approval.
Primary_Tree7436@reddit (OP)
The “Available” line item right under the sku number will indicate where it is at. For example if we have it at our physical location it will read “Available: In-store at Charlotte, NC”.
nuprotocol@reddit
Thanks! I have one can with you waiting for approval, and just placed an order for the OCL Polonium 30. I did see that it displayed as Available in Charlotte.
RyAllDaddy69@reddit
Yeah, they’re 100% full of shit and I won’t be doing business with them again.
YXIDRJZQAF@reddit
Mine is 200$ lmao
RyAllDaddy69@reddit
$200? You mean TWO-HUNDRED AMERICAN DOLLARS? For a fucking NFA transfer? Not for the tax stamp, for transferring the can to you? Thats out-fucking-rageous.
YXIDRJZQAF@reddit
yeah, even the employees think it's restarted
Competitive_Use7847@reddit
I use to have a guy that I would my cans through and he would make around $70 per can I bought through him, but when I found deals here, he wouldn’t charge me anything and even let me shoot on his range for free
RyAllDaddy69@reddit
Now THAT is a solid dude. Buy that guy some lunch.
Dusk_v733@reddit
I've got a monthly membership at a range and one of the perks is waved FFL fees.
Might be worth finding something like that near you for a month and getting some range time in to make it worth your money.
D_S_1988@reddit
My local FFL does $20 NFA transfers.
ScorpiaChasis@reddit
$125-150 for NFA transfers around here. pretty wild, nullifies most deals
AssSpackler@reddit
I found the holy grail around me. Turns out we are related and he used to work with my father in law. Charged me $40 for 3 NFA transfer. $40 total! And he lives 5min from me. It’s like god wants me to have more cans. I could cry

Great can! I have a Polonium on my 20” AR15 in 6mm ARC. No tuning to the gun whatsoever. Thing is crazy quiet. I can shoot and shoot and it’s never uncomfortable to my ears. This is my first suppressor. I love how I can shoot right outside my back door, and you can’t hear anything in the house at all. I could shoot at 3AM and my neighbors would have no idea unless they opened their window own door or something lol.

Fuck this seems like bin. I was considering this or a more expensive cat at when they come out. I know they're very different suppressors but for a 11.5" 5.56 should I just get this, tune the gas, and call it a day?
202glewis@reddit
I’m not sure you’re gonna be able to tune your 11.5 to mitigate much from getting gas back in your face. Probably the biggest tune you could do is either get a bleed off gas port / tube or switch to shooting subs.
epicchocoballer@reddit
Are subsonic .223/5.56 loads even really a thing?
Giant_117@reddit
There was a sub sonic 223 load commercially available a few years ago. I haven’t seen it since covid though.
RyAllDaddy69@reddit
Yup, I’ve seen ONE factory produced commercial .223 load in the last 4 or 5 years that was actually available for purchase, and that was being sold by a private seller. I’ve seen ONE video of a person shooting subsonic .223(from inside his house too, I’ll have to find that YouTube video).
When I saw it for sale, I want to say it was a red and black box.
It’s not common, and the person that suggested it definitely has no idea what they’re talking about, especially completely ignoring the buffer system when talking about “tuning” for a suppressor(this paragraph isn’t directed at you, I’m just already typing and REALLY don’t want to end up in a conversation about suppressor variables with the guy that said an agb or subsonic ammo is the only way to tune an 11.5 5.56 with a suppressor).
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
No, but PMC 223 is nice and mild
epicchocoballer@reddit
Most commercial .223 is going to be mild. And a lot of M193 labeled 5.56 isn’t full fat M193 spec either. They’re all still absolutely supersonic.
isgaiw7892b@reddit
Was about to ask that too lol
jetbuilt1980@reddit
Not commercially, gotta roll your own most of the time. The suggestion was misplaced at best, typical reddit parrot just repeating the echo chamber noise.
kearbear978@reddit
Different charging handles have made a big difference for me. I run a radian sd right now and that made a world of difference. Heard pri gasbusters are even better.
OzempicDick@reddit
I have no problem tuning gas on an 11.5 carbine with a traditional can but my nomad 30 isnt quite as restrictive as a polo k so ymmv.
Agb H2/3 buffer Rtv mod on charging handle Forward assist gas vent.
I added a kak down vent recently. Gas was already managed but its a touch quieter.
Literally never been gassed out.
-1----1-@reddit
I’m in your same boat. I’m just going to wait it out. The CAT is more than double the price though. I’ve been contemplating a half dozen for a week or two now. Can’t make my mind up.
SunAdventurous6751@reddit
Haha so we meet again...still at it too
-1----1-@reddit
😂😂😂
SunAdventurous6751@reddit
Whelps, I just ordered a procrastination sling so I'm officially 1 step closer to figuring out what suppressor to get 😂
Squmpst@reddit
I've got a polo k on a 10.5 MK18-esque upper. H3 buffer, non adjustable gas block, and a radian raptor SD charging handle. That charging handle really cuts the gas by a huge amount. I mainly shoot outside so indoors it might be more noticeable, but outside it's very pleasant.
HauntedHotsauce@reddit
I've shot my 10.3 mk18 with a k indoors and it's not too bad with a sprinco blue and H3. But I also have a pri gas buster on mine. So not sure how it compares to a raptor sd.
I will say with an get it starts to get a bit more noticeable rapid firing Winchester brown box 😂
KnifeActual@reddit
I use 556 primarily for 15+ years and have run most low end and high end suppressors available to date. There are definitely platforms where a high end suppressor makes sense but 556 is not one of them for most shooters.
556 sound suppression on a $1500 can is only slightly better than a $500 OCL or other quality budget options. The exception to the rule is if you need a full auto can and top of the line flash suppression. For example: KAC 556 cans are not quiet, but they are pretty close to indestructible and have unbeatable flash suppression, same with surefire socom 2 and now 3. This is extremely important when you shoot under NVGs. Not the experience of typical shooters.

Hot damn, I have no idea how the NFA stuff works but I've been in the market for one of these.
No_Leg6630@reddit
What questions do you have
Afro-Pope@reddit
I don't really understand how any of this stuff works. Like presumably it's not like buying a firearm online and I just get it shipped to my FFL, I am under the impression that there's a whole separate process, I just do not know what that is.
FaithlessnessQuiet49@reddit
If you're around Layton, Utah, Tactical Penguin charges like $30 for an NFA transfer. The Polo K ain't bad. I have one on my PWS and it works, but like everyone says, gassy.

Superlative Arms Adjustable gas blocks are the best $90 I’ve ever spent on any AR platform I’ve run suppressed.
_Under5core_@reddit
Hey, can you give your thoughts on shooting a traditional can like the polo k with a properly tuned adjustable gas block vs a non adjustable block on a low back pressure can?
WhoDisWhoDat99@reddit
Before answering that question, which is a valid question no doubt, I believe it’s important to first acknowledge and engage with the very premise that precludes that question.
For years, I’ve watched, read, and gleaned the macro “ebbs and flows” of the seemingly divine question underlying question of “what’s the current best 5.56 suppressor”?
As a sincere and well-meaning traveler of this “journey”, having spent an ungodly amount of hours on forums, YouTube videos, and manufacturer websites. I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money as well, trying to obtain that elusive “perfect 5.56 suppressor”.
Ironically, at the end of this all, I’ve concluded that I participated in what I personally call, “the great fools errand”.
I enjoyed my first few suppressors when I bought them because they represented a new experience of “shooting an AR suppressed vs. un-suppressed”.
Then, I noticed that when “flow through” came around, all the collective “hive-mind of wisdom” started turning their backs on traditional suppressors, and began embracing and endorsing flow through over traditional baffle stacks.
Because I mean, “who wants the horrific and health compromising” experience of having carcinogenic toxic gas molecules blown back into your face while mag dumping at the range, right”? 🤔
So, naturally…I felt compelled to shun my traditional cans for flow through cans.
Those were supposed to be the more evolved and “better” iteration of suppressors. So I obliged. I essentially went along with what the industry was telling me, without really contemplating it for myself and my personal preferences or uses.
After buying the new “cool flow through cans”, I absolutely enjoyed the “no gas to the face” aspect, but concurrently realized that the suppressors I bought seemed to no longer really “suppress” anything.
They started so seem more like really expensive, cool-looking, federally regulated, blast diverters. Sure, they were a little quieter than shooting non-suppressed, but in reality, they felt more honestly like they were some part of the “muzzle device” category, and less like a part of the “suppressor/silencer” community.
Regardless, I stuffed those personal sentiments deep down within, and remained a faithful foot-soldier of the industry “hive-mind”.
Sure enough, 6-12 months later, conveniently after I had spent thousands on flow through suppressors, the brilliant “thought leaders” of the community started to encircle the new issues of “sparking”, especially for use under night-vision. With how “severe and unacceptable” this issue seemed to be based on the huffing and puffing of the community, an everyday simple enthusiast like me assumed, “Wow, I guess I must be the only idiot in the whole community that doesn’t have nod’s and training for an upcoming civilian deployment. I better address this “sparking issue” so it’s handled for the days where I am obviously going to need to refinance my home and purchase nods, duh”.
I had literally never thought of sparking once as being a personal issue to me, but of course, I relented and bought a flow through inconel can, obviously to solve the “massive issue” that sparking was to me while shooting in doors, under fluorescent lights, 25 yards from Zombie shaped paper targets” 🤪
Then, I realized that suppressor “weight and length” were apparently the next urgent matter to address, since apparently again, I was the only idiot not sprinting in open fields, “John Wick-ing Gophers”.
So I bought a short, flow through, Inconel can. 🤑🤮
After my fifth can, and my apparent emotional roller coaster of initial glee and relief at having purchased the “perfect suppressor”, only to be disappointed and dejected 6-months later by that same can, my local old salty FFL/SOT here in Texas told me the single most valuable thing I’ve personally ever heard pertaining to the NFA purchasing game.
He said, “Look Brother, you’ve spent thousands of dollars on countless suppressors in the last 3-4 years, and I can tell you’re chasing the same fictional ghost of “the perfect 5.56 suppressor”. The truth is, it doesn’t exist. Have you stopped to notice that everyone telling you there is one, is either getting suppressors for free, or is benefiting financially from separating you from your money? Put a damn adjustable gas block on your rifle for $90 max, use it to tune the platform to all of your cans, and come back and tell me if you want to spend $600-$1,400 on another wiz-bang new space magic can. I’ll gladly sell you another, but I think you may feel differently.”
I had him install the adjustable gas block that day, and sure enough, each and every can thereafter seemed to be the “perfect 5.56 can”, no matter which one I tried.
Moral of the story was, be honest with yourself about what you’re actually trying to do here with this purchase.
If you’re a collector of cans, have disposable income, and just enjoy trying out new stuff…then that’s great…do it…there’s nothing wrong with that.
But if you’re not, stop chasing your tail. Buy a AGB, buy a ton of ammo, and go out and enjoy the journey that is “training/marksmanship/whatever you wanna call it”.

I, too, have seen the light of the Riflespeed.

So, in summary (haha), everyone’s going to have a ton of different answers to your question, and they’ll all be “right” under the appropriate conditions.
A Polo K + an ADG block will be the cheaper route compared to almost any other flow thru can purchase.
Personally, anyone who asks me for my opinion, I’d recommend going that direction first and seeing how they like it.
You can always tune down gas from a high back pressure can to handle the “over-gassing issue”. Sup Arms has become be go to because of the “bleed off” feature they provide. That feature has kept my tuned AR’s significantly cleaner than using the “restricted gas” approach.
The old salty FFL/SOT told me, “You can always address over-gassing of a quiet suppressor. It’s much harder to make a low-gas suppressor more quiet”.
So far, in my personal experience, he’s been correct. 🤷🏻♂️

What about the full Polo? That has better flash mitigation right? Polo w/ adjustable gas have any extra benefit vs polo k?

Yea I ain’t reading all that dawg

Additionally, I’ve become a huge fan of only purchasing suppressors that have at least two (if not more) configurable option built into them.
I now only buy cans that are either modular for size, and/or modular in terms of end-caps.

If a divorce was cheaper I might consider…

Do they do all the form stuff as well and ship to my door or do I have to send this to my FFL (who charges $175 for NFA transfers…)
Electronic_Ad47@reddit
To my knowledge, Capitol Armory is the only one that does "ship to your door" for NFA items. So you'd most likely have to ship to an FFL and pay their transfer fees.
Psychological-Drive4@reddit
PSA is partnering with CA, so they should be able to as well

I wasn't aware of that! Good to know if I ever see a can on sale from them. THX!

Paid $532 for an FDE just 2 weeks ago and $100 transfer at my LGS.

Just got one of these as my first suppressor. Very happy with it!

Got mine for $420 (: still haven’t seen it that low since I got it and every time I see a deal I get to relive that consumerism dopamine rush 🤤
