Are Suredrive tires from Firestone any good?

For a 2011 Camry LE. These Suredrive tires are low priced, but appears to be made by Bridgestone. Anyone have experience with them?
Icy_Second_9010@reddit
I just got suredrive touring installed on my Kia Sorento (235/65/17). Very quiet ride. I think they are solid tires. I will update in 6 months.
Tommyy1441@reddit
Any update on these tires?
Icy_Second_9010@reddit
My bad...The tires are good. Honestly I have no complaints. I drive around 25 miles a day tops so the wear and tear is barely noticeable.
Nervous-Anything-244@reddit
Could you please let me know how is your experience after an year? I am planning to buy a pair of these tires.
Icy_Second_9010@reddit
The tires are still holding strong, not much visible wear and tire, as I said before I only drive like 25 miles a day. The drive is somewhat silent, but I barely hear the noise from the tires coz I'm always playing loud music. In addition, I'd say they handles the NE winter pretty well, my car being a front wheel drive.
Uniquely_irregular@reddit
How are the tires?
Icy_Second_9010@reddit
So far so good. No complaints here.
EuphoricSuccess1997@reddit
Any update on this? Considering getting them on my ford fusion
samjit@reddit
Me too looking for my ford focus. Look firestore had this suredrive they just costs 65 dollars per tire. I'm not sure how these will be while the premium once cost 200 per tire
fagicide@reddit
Make sure the weight and speed ratings are compatible for the vehicle keep general maintenance for tires that Firestone will do for free if you buy their tires like tire rotation never occurred to me but it is key to longer tires with even wear and smooth rides
Difficult_Roll8005@reddit
Just had suredrive tries got 12k miles on them 3 out 4 separated from the tire. Got them all replaced under warranty but obviously a defective tire. Now have all season Firestone on hope they work out better. My review suredrive no good?
astrophysics2017@reddit
Hit a pothole and got my Audi towed to the nearest Firestone. I was like put anything cheap, so that I can reach home and will get continental later on. But this Suredrive tire was much better than continental tire that came pre installed with the Audi. I am now thinking about replacing the remaining 2 with sure drive sports too
deleted_by_reddit@reddit (OP)
we also had continentals before and these tires perform just as well. It’s like the Kirkland Signature of tires, good quality without any marketing/branding which results in savings to the consumer
EuphoricSuccess1997@reddit
Any update on this? I drive Uber and want to know if these tires are reliable for at least 30,000 miles
fagicide@reddit
They are nice and last a good time (well over 30k miles) just remember to keep maintenance like tire rotation and alignments (Firestone lifetime alignment is helpful for ride sharing app) and tires will last long with even wear saving money in the long run. I used to work at Firestone and enjoyed the tires offered there when working, really quiet and smooth ride
Nervous-Anything-244@reddit
Could you please share your experience after one year of drive?
ThePolecatProcess@reddit
Suredrive is owned by Bridgestone, they’re made in the same factories, just no marketing. Ergo, they are Budget Friendly Bridgestones. Here’s Bridgestones info site about them
jonndabshire@reddit
from what I understand, the suredrive tires are actually sourced from kumho
GrayGray72@reddit
This is correct I am a tech at a Firestone and the way we figured this out was looking at the dot numbers on a kumho and the first three matched with the suredrives
figgypudding02@reddit
Yes I also was told by a tech that Kumho makes the SureDrive. I am curious if this is just a Kumho tire rebranded and if there is a way to know what Kumho tire it is so I could read those reviews
GrayGray72@reddit
There is no way for us to know us employees had to figure it out on our own
Boring-Age5113@reddit
Had exact same experience with my Etron.Put on $53 tires. The same shit.
Physical-Pizza7064@reddit
Wow! I know this post is old, but had to reply. Visiting Indianapolis with my daughter and hit a pothole in my Audi A5. Blew out the sidewall of one of my relatively new Eagle Sports. Changed to the spare, but wasn’t comfortable driving all the way back to STL on the spare. It’s Sunday and Firestone was the only place I could find open. Guy quotes me a Firehawk for about $95 more than the SuperDrive Sport. So, SuperDrive Sport is what I got.
Hope I have as good of an experience as you.
WaxManScoobiDoobi@reddit
I’m looking at these a year later. To anybody who got the sure drives a year ago any feedback?
Thats_just_stupid@reddit
Same question for me. $67 a tire right now. Might pull the trigger.
realAdeelAnsari@reddit
I will get them installed on my 2006 Corolla, will report back. Currently running in Michelin Defender 195/65/15. It's by no mean a sports car, and at $60 a pop, total $370 out the door. It's a great deal.
Tim_Myers@reddit
Any updates on your experience with these if you've gotten them?
I have an appointment set for tomorrow at noon to replace nearly bald tires with the SureDrive Touring A/S ... Firestone has a Buy 3 Get 1 FREE deal going on right now (ends on 2/29). $116.99 each, buying 3 with install and taxes comes out to $386.02. Not a bad deal for a set of 4 new tires. I checked a few website reviews and they seem like a bargain when it comes with a 55K mile warranty.
I wanted the Firestone Indy 500s, but that was around $950 for the set of 4 with installation and taxes. Firestone Firehawk v2 was around $750. A little over a third and a half of the price for the SureDrive tires ... had to go with those since I'm always on the road and expect to replace these sometime in 2025.
Just sort of skeptical is all, so looking for all of the information I can find online before I drive my car tomorrow with them on. I live near Chicago so we get all seasons here. Hoping they can hold up through rain and snow.
realAdeelAnsari@reddit
Yes, I got them installed just last Friday, I was waiting for the Buy 3, get 1 free deal myself.
Tip: I called Firestone to get a quote, they quoted me almost $200 higher than what was on the website even though they mentioned the same deal (Buy3, Get 1 Free). So, it best to order through their website and order.
The tires are good, I noticed that they are way quieter than Michelins Defender that I had on my 2006 Corolla before. I also noticed that they handle bumps better on the road. My car is not a something I would drive fast anyway so I prefer comfortable ride on it (I have another car for sporty days). The warranty on the tires is 40K miles, which I think is alright. I also noticed the braking distance is little longer than Michelin but to be honest its very minor.
Value = Great
Comfort = Good
Warranty = Average
Braking = Average
My total came out to be:
Sub-Total 341.77
Parts 256.96
Labor 79.64
Shop Supplies 5.17
I also paid $40 for the Road Hazard Warranty so for a Grand Total of $364.63.
Nervous-Anything-244@reddit
Could you please share your experience after one year of drive?
oranggit@reddit
I bought these a year and a half ago and they're turning brown. I Googled this and it's called "tire blooming" or "tire browning".
I live in Florida so maybe the intense sun does this however, I've lived here for 40 years and none of my other tires did this. I've owned cars/trucks for 50 years and have bought tires from all the major brands and non-major brands and have never experienced "browning".
Spare-Permission-486@reddit
If they are made in China Korea or India packastan stay away .
Iguessedyouknow@reddit
Yes Toyo is a good brand. They are under they radar and I hope they stay that way. You can get a set of 4 for 400$ that's with install.
Low_Emotion8971@reddit
The tires are actually made by Kumho. I work at Firestone and when we had corporate people come in one of them spilled the beans and told us that they’re just Rebranded kumho tires which are actually pretty good tires. I will always steer a customer to buy them as the value is unbeatable. If you ended up getting them they will serve you well.
EuphoricSuccess1997@reddit
Hey this seems really helpful, just want to confirm it’s still the case? Firestone gas a good deal for 4/$375 right now and I just want to make sure this isn’t too good to be true as I’m paranoid when it comes to tire buying. I want a good deal but don’t want to have them get bubbles within 3 months.
Heavy-Collection3507@reddit
Go for them, make sure you also buy the road hazard certificates. Covers anything for the life of the tire, they will repair or replace for free. It's $15 or so per tire, more than worth it
SoMass@reddit
I know this is an old post but how does road hazard actually work?
I bought it on a set of tires long ago and the next set I bought years later told me road hazard tire warranty is a gimmick and rarely ever able to claim it. Not sure what to believe anymore.
Heavy-Collection3507@reddit
Not sure about all stores, but Discount Tire/America's Tire definitely honors the certificate. I've had them replace multiple tires after it couldn't be repaired, from punctures to pothole damage to one tire that just had a bubble
CadeDaniels@reddit
As a fellow firestonian I found out bc the Kumhos on a customers car were the same as the SD all seasons. Also, fun fact: Diehard, advanced battery brand, also has a tireline and the diehard gold tire is also the same as the SD
dwilso621@reddit
Going on initial impressions here, but so far so good. I had Michelin Pilot Sports on my Hyundai Elantra Sport for a long time but could not afford to drop $1,000 on tires right now. After way too much time spent trying to find an excellent deal on tires, I decided to take a chance with the Suredrive Sports. Only had them for 2 weeks now but really like them thus far. Out the door $392 for a full set. I was extremely hesistant, expecting my car's handling to be washed out, and handle like a 90's Toyota Camry (no offense). I am impressed, especially for the price. They are way quieter than my old tires, ride better, and the handling I would say is 75%-80% as good. They aren't as communicative on center, not as sharp, but there is plenty of grip around corners and wet traction was much improved. Will see how I feel in 6 months if I have the same sentiments.
Demcowboys82@reddit
Any update?
dwilso621@reddit
They’ve been awesome! Great in the little bit of snow we’ve had, wet traction is 8/10. Still quiet. The only issue I’ve noticed is after it sits for a few days, the tires get flat spots that go away after a few minutes of driving. Haven’t taken it on a track yet so can’t speak to performance ability.
jonndabshire@reddit
exactly this. Only real complaint I have is the flat spots but that goes away after about a mile of driving. Not a huge issue
Responsible-Sense-61@reddit
ANYONE HAVE THE CROSSMAX TIRES WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THEM.
brain-power@reddit
THIS IS A THREAD ABOUT SUREDRIVE TIRES ARE YOU ASKING ABOUT ANOTHER RANDOM TIRE?
Important_Visit505@reddit
With the issues in the tire market right now I would say if you get 40000 miles out of a 40000 miles tire
that tire is a good tire. I have seen this post seems to be the same person , all over the web . To buy a 70 dollar
tire and get the miles you paid for and then raise a stink it is funny someone has not noticed from the company.
Then taken it to court against you. You cant go nuts over nothing and this is nothing. I am sorry but what the hell
do you wan? Suredrive have the best warranty on the market for a low cost tire . The tons of china made
junk tires on the market should not be put on a car period . Suredrive is a good tire for the money and f you
want better step up to the 200 dollar each tire not per set.
Jealous-Disaster-214@reddit
They are fantastic they ride great and are very durable
iLov3tac0s@reddit
Glad I came across this post. Actually having 4 Suredrive all season tires put on my explorer right now. I'm on a tight fixed income so the price was within my radar. Hopefully they last awhile though since I don't drive much these days 🤞
eostrike@reddit
I am sure these will make a great spare tires which is what I am putting on this morning to replace my hardly used 19 year old spare tire.
Overall-Ad-3188@reddit
I got them for my Pathfinder and we are very impressed with how comfortable they drive so far.
Unlucky-Junket-4506@reddit
I’ve recently purchased 4 new suredrive tires for our 03 Honda pilot. I needed to drive to Jacksonville. About a 4 hour drive. I could not find any reviews on these tires so I figured I would post one. They are definitely worth the money. They are quiet take bumps well and handle great in the torrential rain in Florida. For just over $500 for 4 brand new tires with road hazard I’m extremely happy. I’ve had them for almost a month now and will definitely buy them again
daft4punk33@reddit
These tires are great on initial quality. Initial quality... I wish you luck. But for me the honeymoon ended about 10k miles in. Then the rain came. Literally. These tires just don't do well in rain or snow when worn. I've put 40k on them and they need to be replaced after 2 years. The same firestone that sold them to me explained that the brand names would last longer and be better for rain and mpg's. I have had them on a Lexus RX350. Noticed a 2-3 mpg decrease over the years but it never bothered me. My strong advice is to rotate them every 5k for longevity. Again, mine were great for about 10k, and without changing anything saw a decrease in performance. I paid around 500 for them new which is the best part about these.
Unlucky-Junket-4506@reddit
Yes they are only 50000 mile tires and suggested tire rotation for all tires is 5000 8000 miles. If I get 40000 miles out a set of $500 tires I will be stoked. Thanks though
Beginning-Age421@reddit
I bought Sure Drive Tires December of 2022, the 2 front tires are bald and coming apart on the outer seems.
Sea_Wrap_7132@reddit
So you got over a year and a half of use from them without rotating and rebalancing them. Seems like they could’ve gone 3 with proper maintenance
WeegeeXIII@reddit
Only the front? Sounds like you put a lot of miles on them without rotating them once. Any tire will do that with poor maintenance.
Heavy-Collection3507@reddit
Sound like an alignment/no rotation issue
Apart_Repeat7040@reddit
And how many miles did you put on them?
op3l@reddit
What’s wrong with Bridgestone or Firestone?
Ive used their tires for years and years and not have had issues.
deleted_by_reddit@reddit (OP)
have you used the suredrive tires? they are really cheap compared to the firestones
ThePolecatProcess@reddit
Hey op, I know this very late, but Bridgestone owns SureDrive. From what I can tell they are the exact same tires, made in the same factories. just no marketing and exclusively sold by Bridgestone owned companies.
Bridgestones info tab on them

They're the same company.
Wadical1@reddit
Bought two for my charger R/T 6 months ago. They ride great, have great traction in wet weather and do not seem to exhibit excessive wear. Bought two more today and now I have four on my vehicle. Well priced compared to Bridgestones and I have no complaints.
momomosk@reddit
Did you get the regular (40k miles) or the touring (55k miles) version?
benmarvin@reddit
Any time I'm looking at tires that I know nothing about, I'll look them up on TireRack and look for reviews from people with the same or similar vehicle. A while ago I was looking at some Kumho Extas that seemed way too cheap, but the reviews were solid and the tires lasted me a good long time.
Genjisdream@reddit
That did not answer the op question
panzervor94@reddit
No, just everything to solve the problem and way to continue to get meaningful information on any other tire he might want to look up. Totally useless 👍🏻
DirtyChalupa666@reddit
But it gave him a resource he can use which will also be a future tool for him. Tire rack also does objective testing which is helpful.

They are older designs discontinued by Kumho. Firestone sells them under the Suredrive house brand

Primewell tires are good....ran them on multiple cars. No issues.
Icy-House-4540@reddit
The question is for Surdrive Tires, not Primewell.
rockclimbermx@reddit
Oh, right...sorry. But Suredrive are good tires. I looked at them for my truck, and my wife's car. The ones I looked at were made by Kuhmo.....I found the exact Kuhmo model tire that the Suredrive was based on. Kuhmo makes good tires, so in many cases, Suredrive is not cheap at all (just price-wise).

good to hear .. I'm fixing to get these asap .. I'm going by the positive reviews .. the thing is I came across them at the firestone website but all the firestone shops around here have terrible reviews so I'm concerned about taking my car there .. if I may ask, where did you have it done ?
lagomorph-molester@reddit
I actually work for Bridgestone/Firestone and I gotta say sure drives are pretty good bang for your buck. I havnt seen a customer come back complaining about them. We actually have more people coming back and complaining about Firestone all seasons or fire hawk as v1s. For some clarity I don’t work in corporate, I work as a mechanic so I see all the nitty gritty shit and almost every type of tire failure in the book. Tbh I could give half a fuck about brand loyalty I have all sorts of random tires on my cars. But I’m my experience sure drives are extremely good for their price. Don’t expect as long a lifespan as much more expensive tire but they’re great for what they are
rastapastry@reddit
So, you molest hares?
ktherself@reddit
What does any of that mean?
rastapastry@reddit
HA! I’m referring to the person’s username that I replied to, which is “lagomorph molester”. Lagomorph is the scientific name for rabbits, & his (or her) username insists they “molest lagomorphs”.

yes, my store is 2.3 stars out of 5 rating. For $60 more, I get to go to Wally World.
OffNog@reddit
My Firestone is great.
Icy-House-4540@reddit
Walmart want $218 for the tire, and $18 installation plus $10 extra for Road Hazzard Warranty. That's almost $260 for 1 tire. My Tread is 3mm, I have to get 1 tire. Their road hazzard warranty used to be $1, now it is $10. Some are charging for stupid Recycling fee. So, this Suredrive Tire is $60 less than local Walmart with installation but no warranty. How much is Firestone Road Hazzard Warranty?
ktherself@reddit
Road Hazard Warranty is priced based on the price of the tires. The recycling fee pays for the scrap tire recyclers to pick up old tires and has always been charged by reputable shops. Firestone's Road Hazard Protection means you get free patches if you have a flat and if it cannot be patch you get a free tire and the first year and have to pay installation, then after the first year they measure how much tread is remaining and prorate it. Got a nail in my Suredrive and going to get a free tire tomorrow lol
ptrang91@reddit
Just got mine, I'll also follow up on my experience.
OffNog@reddit

Icy-House-4540@reddit
$260 for one Walmart Tire, no Wheel included.
wjflaco@reddit
Care to share any further updates? Would you purchase again?
ConditionsCloudy@reddit
I got a set of the cheapest ones available (the all-seasons) about a month ago for my 2009 Pontiac G6 sedan. I wasn't looking for or expecting much as I got the car for 2 grand and the old tires were close to bald, so no need or desire to spend extra for premium tires. These fit the bill for a really great price. That said, man! I'm shocked how much I like them so far. They are consistently grippy and nimble in dry and wet conditions and very quiet, not things I expect from a super budget tire. The car feels stable and responsive around town and at higher speeds as well. I take the interstate to work each day at 70mph and even in heavy rainstorms traction has not been an issue.
Tl;dr for the price I can't believe how nice they are. If budget is at all a factor I can definitely recommend them as a solid choice.
ptrang91@reddit
They are fine
OffNog@reddit
Y sons car, it’s a 2005. He head to college in the fall. It’s not a super long drive to college once their the car will mainly sit. Right now he drive 5 miles one way to school 2 miles to his GF’s, and like 5 to his work…. So seems like the smart choice for an old car

They replaced Primewell as the "house brand" at FCAC. I haven't run Suredrive yet, but have run quite a few sets of Primewell and have had no complaints.
ktherself@reddit
I hated the Primewells, the Suredrives might as well be Pirellis in comparison lol
Disastrous-Island729@reddit
Do you guys recommend these for a c450 amg? I’m on Michelin run flats right now but have heard terrible stories on em so trying to find a switch that won’t be too pricey but won’t hinder the performance or ride quality. Not bad, traction in the rain could be a bit better tbh.
NachoFries2020@reddit
Even with Aquatread tires, driving on rain can be dicey. best to slow down and be safe.
AdPutrid380@reddit
My SureDrive tires were able to handle speeds of 90-113 mph my car didn’t feel that fast, it can go up to 127 but im not gonna risk messing up my tires at that speed
MattAc1@reddit
I have these on my son's 08 focus, my daughters 12 focus and my 13 legacy. I have no complaints with them so far and neither do the kids. They work well in rain and snow.
Signal-Sprinkles-350@reddit
I came here to ask the same thing. I have Continental PureConnect tires on my Accord. I had a "regarded moment" and hit an abyssal pothole and blew out a tire. Limped to my usual tire/service shop. They replaced it with a Bridgestone SureDrive Touring. It cost $40 less than the current price of the Continentals i bought just over two years ago.
Should I freak out about having mismatched brands on my car? I don't do a lot of freeway driving and don't have a performance car, but if y'all say that Bridgestone are fine but cheap, I'm willing to accept that.
Phuckitall6969@reddit
I can't speak for a Camry but I have a 2016 Dodge Journey that I put the Suredrive Touring A/S on. They are better than the factory Kumho (Replaced at 33.000), Firestone Destination LE2 (Replaced at 79000) and the Primewell Valerra (replaced at 122,000). Journey handles better than it ever did, car no has 138000 miles on it and tires are wearing perfectly. Would have easily made their 55,000 mile warranty if not for the Deer I hit last week. Tires are still great, Insurance is totaling the car. I fully plan on replacing the Brigestone Turanza LS 100 tires on my wifes VW Taos with the Suredrive touring soon as they are reaching end of life..
Low_Emotion8971@reddit
If you want to look up the suredrive all terrain tires and then look up the Kumho all terrain tires. You will notice it’s the exact same tread pattern. Same thing with the passenger car tires. They are not a Bridgestone product at all but I believe they will serve you well
