I bought one a week or so ago from these guys. I’m happy with it but I’ll say that it was SUBSTANTIALLY more salty than the one pictured. But my expectations were very low, I expected something functional but ugly and that’s what I got.
To me, I’d say 8/10. I’m docking 2 pts simply because it can’t be warrantied and I feel that for $400 to my door it’s a little expensive for something I can’t get fixed.

It’s definitely well used. I think I was like $390 to my door. Given that it functions well and took more abuse over the weekend I’d say it’s a “fair” buy. To me that means I’m not unhappy but I’m also not “wow omg, you gotta go grab one of these” either.
It’s a fair purchase for the price on something I would probably not buy brand new either way. The glass is scratched but honestly when looking through it I cannot even see them. It’s bright, the battery they sent seemed brand new and it isn’t rusty. The blemishes on the outside were to be expected, but not something I’m worried about, eventually I’ll just tape off the glass and spray it with some black paint.
Really my only nitpicky issue is warranty, I bought hoping that if something happened 1-2 years from now I’d be able to get it warrantied. They don’t clearly state on their website that Aimpoint won’t warranty these due to the surplus status, which I guess technically isn’t on them, but I feel it kinda took this from a “great buy” to “eh, ok I guess” for me.

I personally don’t think it’s horrible, but pictures don’t show everything. But again I also bought expecting it to be much worse and don’t really care about looks. As I said, I expected functional but ugly and I got just that.

Honestly, that sucks. But I'm glad to hear an actual honest opinion cause all i heard about Aimpoint through the years is "they are the shit". Sorry but i never bought into the hype. I have like 12 Primaryarms/Holosuns and none have failed me, and one of my PA's has been sitting outside on a BB rifle for like 3 years, full blown sun/rain/hurricane, replaced the battery like once. No issues.... They even sent me a replacement battery cap free..

If you’re set on a Comp M4, $350 isn’t bad, but for used optics I think the PRO or Romeo 4T are better value. You can usually find either around $350, occasionally as low as $300 in non-salty condition

Just got my COMP M4S in the mail from them today. Surprisingly about as unmolested as the one in the picture. Some folks have gotten some really salty ones, I expected medium levels of salt at best. Shocked (maybe even disappointed) that mine has minimal salt. Got lucky I guess. Beats the hell on full retail on an aimpoint.

Mine looks awesome. Only two issues I've seen so far are the slight dent in the rim of the ring on the back of the optic and I can't open the battery compartment yet, damn thing is worn on the knurling so I can't check if there's any corrosion in the compartment. Dot works fine though. Just waiting for wetworx to get back to me on my sale refund

I’m so jealous of you guys who got nice ones! I was shocked mine still worked. It looked liked it had been dropped down the side of mountain then kicked back up and dropped again. Total piece of shit, but decent glass and the dot worked. The power knob has an insane amount of play between each setting, but it still fucking clicks. It looks so shitty that I think I wan’t to make a NFA double barrel shotgun and fix it up Fallout style. I didn’t order another because the first one was a total shit box.

the m4s i got also has some play. I'd be worried, but long ago i got an aimpoint 1000s on super deal because the thought didn't think it worked right. I gently pried the knob off and put some epoxy in there, and it has been working fine for the last 20 years or so. I expect this will be similar if it comes to that.

It's because there's already an assumption of warranty probably going out the window or some nightmarish levels of customer service with foreign manufacturers, especially ones that are in a war and under heavy sanctions.

When I converted my Saiga, I wanted to keep it all thematically consistent, so put all Russian hardware on it. Pilad dot sight and some hideous Russian flashlight/tape switch affair that works but is not ergonomic whatsoever.
And somewhere in the closet I've got a PCP gun with a Belarussian infrared sight that I use for dealing with pests.
But... all this was pre-2014, when we were theoretically friendly with ze Russkies.
