Guys where / what underwear are we buying?
Posted by klonerrrr@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 142 comments
Sounds odd I know, but I’m looking for some new underwear as my current ones are really uncomfortable, so just trying to find out what people recommend really. I am really skinny, and don’t want anything like squashing yk down, if that influences it?
Royal_View9815@reddit
Husband wears Calvin Klein and my son wears Under Armour. The Under Armour ones come in a longer length so he says they’re the most comfy.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
To be honest I hate when the leg meets with my thighs I think they are, but is there any other they could recommend?
LittleSadRufus@reddit
I'm really surprised the top answers are all equating longer legged pants with comfort. I hate having all the extra material down my legs. Pants are there to support my bits, not keep my thighs warm.
Longjumping_Mix4922@reddit
the longer legs are not to keep your thighs warm... they are so the material grips onto your thighs more and prevents ride up for those with bigger builds
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I know what could you recommend that doesn’t annoy my legs 😂
LittleSadRufus@reddit
I wear trunks, which area shorter legged boxer briefs but not as tightly cutting as briefs. I find Hilfiger or Sloggi to be the softest material, don't even realise I'm wearing them sometimes. I just buy them fairly cheap on Amazon or in TK Max.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Tbh I have trunks and I still have that leg issue (idk if you know what i mean, but it’s hard to describe it)
Hungry-Performer-425@reddit
Finally ditched the usual boxers after years of dealing with that annoying sweaty, stuck-together feeling on hot days or long shifts. Grabbed some TestiCool ones on a whim and honestly, the cooling pouch thing actually works - keeps everything way more breathable and supported without feeling squeezed. No more constant adjusting or that clammy vibe by lunchtime. Solid upgrade for daily wear. Worth checking if you're fed up too: https://www.testicool.co.uk/"
g33k_d4d@reddit
Step one, I have chunky thighs though and the longer leg prevents chafing
zephyrmox@reddit
Yep, not found anything that comes close.
Swisscryptoking@reddit
https://wearatro.com doesn’t chafe and looks much better
Swisscryptoking@reddit
https://wearatro.com also doesn’t chafe
hornyanonuk@reddit
Trouble with this brand is after X amounts of washes they all fall apart. Happend to me with about 8 pairs.all of the waist / boxer material starts separating. Was great up until that point.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
To be honest I really don’t like the material on the leg, like when its between my thighs?
FilmFanatic1066@reddit
Same, love their cloud mesh
Leckie15@reddit
Another +1 for step one. Great for sport and day to day
K1ng_Canary@reddit
+1 for this. Only place I get underwear from now
Swisscryptoking@reddit
https://wearatro.com best bran I’ve tried by a mile. Insanely comfortable and reasonably priced
subbiedavie@reddit
M&S may sound conventional but I have always found them both stylish and comfortable.
Murky_Butterscotch_7@reddit
Agreed. M&S slips are the best I’ve found
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
What are slips?
DaveL16@reddit
These
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Wait I swear people ain’t worn them since like primary school. Are they any good compared to what I have?
Murky_Butterscotch_7@reddit
Yeah. I think most lads wear them for gym/exercise but there’s always normal briefs if they aren’t your thing.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Oh swear i thought guys just don’t wear them. So like my age they be wearing em 😂😂?
Murky_Butterscotch_7@reddit
Yeah. I think for day-to-day a lot of lads wear brands like Calvin Klein or Nike.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I meant them briefs, like do guys my age wear them or is it just older people
Murky_Butterscotch_7@reddit
Yeah but I think the branded ones are more popular with guys your age.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Branded briefs of boxers I’m so confused like I’ve never heard if anyone my age wearing briefs
Murky_Butterscotch_7@reddit
Branded briefs.

https://amzn.eu/d/048XzR5v
DaveL16@reddit
I don’t know. I haven’t worn them since primary school and wouldn’t be seen dead in them. But there must be a market as they’re still widely available.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Oh my parents gonna say they womens anyways idk if I can try them.
subbiedavie@reddit
I wear these sometimes. very comfortable.
Minsc_NBooToo@reddit
They are a bit expensive, but totally work it. I like the boxer briefs
subbiedavie@reddit
Yup, me too.
Sure-Present-3398@reddit
They wash well too.
subbiedavie@reddit
Indeed they do!
imnotabotimafreeman@reddit
well im a cheapskate, but tesco do a great range. Slimfit boxers fit my needs every day
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Wdym by slimfit boxers?
imnotabotimafreeman@reddit
specifically called trunks. Like a nice fitting boxers.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Ohh I have them I hate how they are around the inner top of my leg
ImNotHalberstram@reddit
I have a good few underwear brands, and because I run 2x a day sometimes, I get thru a lot of them lol. My favorites are Nike Micro boxers.
Also tall and skinny. They are so comfy, and there's a pouch so everything sits well without anything being squashed.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Are they loose or tight as my main issue is i get pissed off when they at the top inner part of my legs 😂😂
ImNotHalberstram@reddit
Oh no I absolutely hate that bunching up. The Levi's ones I wear, as well as the Nike ones don't bunch up at all, and my thighs aren't massively thick so I've definitely struggled with that in the last with cheaper underwear.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I have levi’s ones and they do that, and also have seams in three places on the pouch making them really uncomfy
ImNotHalberstram@reddit
That sucks you've had that happen with the Levi's ones. I think the Nike ones have a seam at each side of the pouch as well, but I'll have to check. I find the material the Nike ones are made out of to be quite comfortable tho.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Idk I just can’t do with seams there, but I also don’t know which wouldn’t have seams there tbh
ImNotHalberstram@reddit
I think the Uniqlo Airism ones are constructed so theres no seams at all. Not sure if you can get them here though.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Ohh i’ll have a look thankss
ambadawn@reddit
How saucy do you feel?
My least saucy underwear are from Obviously.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
wdym?
ambadawn@reddit
There is a spectrum of how sexy men's underwear is. There is generic high street stuff, and then there is more visually appealing stuff, should you dare to wear it.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I mean I just turned 18 so I don’t see the need + my mum does my washing 😂
Murky_Butterscotch_7@reddit
Slazenger slips were good but I don’t think they make them anymore. M&S or matalan slips/briefs are my go to now
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
What are slips and how are they around the inner top part of your legs? I hate with my box briefs / trunks, how i can feel them like folding and stuff there
Murky_Butterscotch_7@reddit
They’re really comfortable on your legs. No bunching up/chaffing.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Oh do people actually wear them I thought they was just for like when we was little 😂😂
Murky_Butterscotch_7@reddit
Yeah. I’d say most lads wear them for gym/exercise etc. You could try normal briefs if they aren’t your thing.
-the-monkey-man-@reddit
Be a man. Just keep reusing the same underwear you’ve had since 17. What holes?
Next has done me well.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I mean I’m 18 now but the last time I got new ones was about three years ago…
-the-monkey-man-@reddit
You are on track then mate.
Honestly though Next and M&S are the way to go. Don’t fall for the dumb brands. Waste of money.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Aha which ones are the dumb ones then
Zaxa7@reddit
Boxers
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Boxer short or boxer briefs (I hardly understand the difference tbh
Zaxa7@reddit
Boxer shorts are loose fitting and more breathable generally.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Wait so they just shorts? are they that length aswell?
Zaxa7@reddit
Dude, literally Google boxer shorts.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Okok
ComprehensiveAd8815@reddit
Aussiebum. Lots of different styles, good sales too.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Which style is best as I currently wear Boxer shorts and trunk I think and I hate them.
ComprehensiveAd8815@reddit
I prefer a brief, something with a bit of support.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Whats rhe difference between mine and briefs?
ComprehensiveAd8815@reddit
Ones balls need support, a boxer or a jock doesn’t give any support.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Oh idk id they need support but my main issue is I get pissed when they at the top inner part of my legs ygm
decentlyfair@reddit
I buy my fella’s underwear and socks and get them from oddballs. Nothing mOre amusing than a 6ft 4 bloke wearing bright pink and turquoise pants.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Next time should be rainbow 😂
UnsureOutlaw@reddit
If you’ve got a Costco near and are a member the Kirkland signature boxers are my favourite.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
How are they around the inner top part of the legs? I hate when i can feel them there ygm
UnsureOutlaw@reddit
Very comfortable, they go down to around mid thigh for me and don’t ride/bunch up. Good space around the clacker bag too 👍🏻
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Oh some of mine go down there but they have the leg issue icl.
Fluffy-Mycologist259@reddit
I do not wear them anymore
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Valid.
AlGunner@reddit
I tend to wear oose fit boxers but becaue of the muscles in my thighs ones which are designed to be baggy on the legs tens to only have maybe 1-2cm loose. I havent measured my thighs in years but think they were about 25", so would want boxer legs to be 25 1/4" - 25 1/2". Tight enough to keep everything in place without crushing.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Yeah I absolutely hate how I can feel the fabric on the inner top part of my thighs / legs, and even thought i’m skinny the top of my legs are big for my body i’f say. Do you think these would help?
AlGunner@reddit
We're all different. You'll just have to give different types a try until you find something you like.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Yeah I just think Idk if I can even try different styles cause I live with my parents and my mother does my washing so she might be like the flip if she sees some.
lostinlife-123@reddit
M&S do decent trunks.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I have boxer briefs and trunks rn, but i hate how i can feel them on like the inner top part of my legs ygm
lostinlife-123@reddit
Maybe try a size up? Otherwise ive seen a lot of adverts for stretchy, breathable bamboo boxers. I think you can get on amazon, never teied myself tho and i think they are abit kn the pricey side.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Sizing up will just mean they don’t fit on my waist I don’t think cause I am skinny already.
Victorius_Meldrus@reddit
I prefer pants to boxers and like something a little closer to a brief than a Y-Front. Took a punt on some Danish Endurance from Amazon, and they've been grand so far. Really good fit and have washed well.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Yeah I don’t know the difference between pants and boxers, and briefs and y fronts tbh
MisterIndecisive@reddit
Next A Front are very comfortable. Don't ride up like some do either.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I remember wearing Next between the age of like 8-14, but what are A front?
MisterIndecisive@reddit
They're like boxer briefs
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Oh that’s what I have and I hate how they are at the top inner part of my leg
jb108822@reddit
Next has been my mainstay for years when it comes to clothing in general. Fits me well, and it’s generally a pretty good balance between price and quality.
minisrugbycoach@reddit
We?
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Yeah what do people recommend..
Front_Pepper_360@reddit
All my son's like sainsburies boxers.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
are they loose or tight around the thighs? Like i absolutely hate when i can feel them on the inner part of my thigh
Front_Pepper_360@reddit
The type they buy are Fitted
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Oh I don’t think I want them tbh
MingePies@reddit
Volcom, I find them super comfortable. Nice material that doesn’t ride up and not unpleasant in warm weather. I get them from TK Maxx as they seem to have them in fairly consistently.
LE-NRY@reddit
100% I wear the quicksilver ones, but impossible to find nowadays, luckily when I found them I bought about 20 pairs a while back!
Why-Aye-71@reddit
Bawbags, Cool De Sacs range
Past-Anything9789@reddit
As a wife who is in charge of purchasing said underwear it depends on what you're looking for. My husband favours loose boxers and we are both disinterested in brand names more about comfort, so he normally ends up with plain black ones from Matalan, Tesco, Asda, Primark, with a high cotton content and loose leg.
Most supermarkets do their own range of underwear, Marks and Spencers have pretty much every sort under the sun. Sports wear shops will probably have branded, but obviously more expensive. Pretty much all menswear online retailers will have them. Just make sure you check the sizing guide because a medium from M&S and a medium from Shein are likely to be pretty different.
PiotrGreenholz01@reddit
Sainsbury's is fine too.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I wear boxer briefs and trunks rn so how are they different to loose boxers (if any difference)?
datscrivs@reddit
John lewis make some really comfy boxers
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
How are they around the inner top part of the legs? I hate when i can feel them there ygm
datscrivs@reddit
I can't really feel them if I'm honest
fgalv@reddit
Since I discovered that the Kirkland own brand boxers from Costco are the most comfy I’ve ever worn, I literally only buy them. They come in one colour (black) and cost about £8 for 3 or 4 pairs.
As someone prone to chub rub, they are amazing. Can walk/run all day in them no problem.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
How are they around the inner top part of the legs? I hate when i can feel them there ygm
jetlagged-bee@reddit
Under armour boxer briefs. All day every day.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)

Gold_Information9677@reddit
Primark always
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I think my mum would disown me if I went there 😂
madzakka@reddit
Nike Dri-fit, won't buy any other brands now.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
How do they fit around the thighs? I hate when I can feel the fabric on the innernpart ygm
Greedy_Investigator7@reddit
Calvin Kline boxers are the only underwear choice.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Are they loose or tight around the thighs? I hatee how they’re on the inner part of my thigh ygm
kylehyde84@reddit
Ck microfibre or Ralph Lauren
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Which style is like the best one in them? as I currently wear Boxer shorts and trunk I think and I hate them.
Peon01@reddit
fruit of the loom from amazon
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
Which style as I currently wear Boxer shorts and trunk I think and I hate them.
adevastatingwhistle@reddit
Step One, the Cloud Mesh version. I’m tall and skinny and I appreciate their longer leg. Quality is alright.
klonerrrr@reddit (OP)
I don’t like the longer leg when it meets with the thighs? so I prolly won’t try them tbh
Mindless_Algae_3564@reddit
Go bamboo
Flavourifshrrp@reddit
I don’t tend to have many pairs and splash cash on such things as underwear, but if you can afford it CK do some very excellent ones.

Victoria secret have some solid black underwear which are really smooth, super comfortable and specifically I love how they hug in the gap between your legs, they just sit perfectly and no pinching, moving around or wedgies
Seamless Black Bikini 4 Pack Logo Knickers
They're a bit more expensive than regular underwear but completely worth it and they last for ages because they arent held together with delicate lace.
Moonbeamer85@reddit
Sainsburys TU label have some very comfortable packs of plain knickers that are super comfortable.
Figgzyvan@reddit

Big fan of British Boxers.

Have been buying from them for over ten years.
TheBristolBulk@reddit
Uniqlo AIRism. Have never looked back. Feels like I’m wearing nothing at all (nothing at all, nothing at all!)
nineteenthly@reddit
Actually I just get knickers from Tu (I've got so many now I can't imagine ever running out even though there's no Sainsbury's here now) and bras from M&S or Primark (again, there's no Primark here but I have a lot of them).
