I have SBA3/4/5 (authentic ones). The 4 and 5 are much more rigid than the 3 and don't deform like the bottom of the 3 does when braced against you. I don't like the 5 as much as the 4 because it doesn't have as much internal depth so you can collapse it as far on the buffer tube, and if you try to quickly the end of the buffer tube will punch the end cap on the 5 out. I also like how the 4 is taller in the rear so you have more material at the toe to get a higher position with the gun when braced. The only area I like the 5 more than the 4 is the QD locations.

I just received an SBA4 from Amazon this past week and it sucks! Waste of $35.
The adjustment latch has too much stroke so if you squeeze it all the way (like normal) the brace just slides off of the end of the buffer tube. Also the rubber isn't nearly as rigid and deforms like an SBA3. More rigidity is one of the main reasons to go with the SBA4 vs 3. I have an authentic SBA4 and it's way better than the clone junk I received.

I’ve bought two SBA3 and just got a SBA5 Amazon special and I have no complaints. $30 for SBA3 and $45 for SBA5. I have a legit SBA3 and the knock off is atleast twice as stiff.

I don't know what the difference is the with x model, but I have the base version SBA4 in FDE and I like it. It's like a super ultra plush sleeve style recoil pad. You can tell that it's not solid below the buffer tube, and may have to adapt your cheek weld and shoulder placement.
I'm told some people might use the arm strap to tighten the soft portion of the brace around a solid object or even a 3d printed plug just before shooting to replicate the solid feel of a proper butt stock while retaining plausible deniability.
But you'd have to be a real rascal to do something like that, am I right?
