Those two videos talk about a 7.62x39 upper/bolt. Iirc 7.62x39 bolts really push the limits of the bolt wall material. I couldn't sit through nutnfancy length videos about a "no-duh" situation, but I believe it the saying still rings true today: the best AR-15 in 7.62x39 is an AK.

Anderson still likely did the final machining on the lowers but some claim they bought most of their parts from other companies near the end. Some claim that Ruger found that the Anderson manufacturing machines were worn out when they bought the Anderson plant so Ruger replaced them with new tooling.
