Did they ever fix these things shooting like shit and keyholing?
I had a 21 from the 90's. Cycled everything, was crazy accurate for a tiny gun. 6" plates at 25 yards were easy. Sold it like a dumbass.
Bought one of the newer ones that were factory threaded and cerakoted FDE. It malfunctions at least once a mag, patterns more like a shotgun and the holes in the target show signs of keyholing with some ammo.

I put about 200 rounds through mine today. brings me to close to 500 rounds down it so far c It loves CCI standard velocity and CCI Suppressor HP. Great gun, had the old model without suppressor sights and it shot fantastic also but couldn’t aim because the sights were milled into the slide. With this one I run my can and can actually aim lol. Killed a rabbit with it already and throw it in my pocket around the farm. It’s only jammed with Aguila Subsonic HP and garbage “grab bag” .22 ammo in my vehicle that is like 10 different types of ammo in a ziplock 😆

Yeah don’t give up on the standards yet, keep shooting them and I bet they break in well. I’ve got like 5,000 rounds of them so I just fed that thing mag after mag and it’s actually pretty dang accurate with them (more accurate with the CCI Suppressed Hp) and sound pretty good as well! Great little gun.

Not really. The tip up is fun, but a hard to load 8+1 for a 22lr gun is a pain in the ass. Kel tec p17 for under $200 OTD is far more fun

Nothing rational really. I like that the 21a is just so old school feeling in the hand (un-ergonomic), and mine seems to care way less about getting dirty. I think its a laugh that the sites are atrocious and rifling is mostly faded.

No shit? That’s really disappointing. This design needs to be reworked and made from a more robust material. The problem is it’s so damn small it vibrates itself to death. I owned an original 3032 tomcat years ago and after about 500 rounds, even of the “safe to shoot” ammo, it still cracked.
It’s a neat design. Conversation piece for sure. However I don’t think this is something that’s meant to be brought out every range trip.
Now the 950 Jetfire is the cats pajamas. Wish they’d make those again.
