S turns in the flight levels?

Saw contrails in the sky that looked to be in the neighborhood of cirrus clouds, just to the north/northwest of KRUT this morning. Looked just like S turns. I tried finding the flight on flightradar24, but no luck looking back to yesterday evening. It's possible they're from before then but that would surprise me. Any idea what they were doing? Doesn't look like a hold, nor what I imagine delay vectors to look like. Not instrument rated so you may have to dumb it down for me!
