Pulling into a supermarket car park when I got boxed in by plain clothes police officers in unmarked cars. They told me I'd been followed as my number plate had triggered their ANPR to say I'd been involved in a string of catalytic converter thefts. Not the worst thing, but up there pretty bad. With my husbands okay, this is how it went: So, my wife's birthday rolled around, and she wanted to hit up laser tag. We got a solid group of 8 together, including John and Carl (not their real names). These two had a minor falling out months ago, but both assured me they were cool being in the same space for my wife's sake. The day was fun, even a bit of a reconciliation vibe between John and Carl. Dinner afterward was chill, despite Carl being a bit quiet and feeling bad about not having a gift. John and his girlfriend, Lisa (surprise, not her real name either), seemed normal. Fast forward to our Halloween party. John messaged me asking who was there, hinting he might come. He showed up with Lisa, and that's where things went south. Lisa was radiating negativity, giving my wife one-word answers but suddenly becoming chatty with *me*. Super disrespectful. Meanwhile, John was glued to Bella (another friend they had a falling out with), clearly trying to reconnect. As the night ended, John hugged Bella and said, "I love you," while Lisa just glared. The tension was palpable. The real kicker? A few days later, Bella mentioned John had thrown his own Halloween party. Turns out, when Bella asked John why we weren't invited, he said it was because of Lisa. Apparently, Lisa "didn't like how Carl was acting during the birthday dinner." Seriously? Carl barely said a word! Lisa had only met him *once*! Then Bella dropped the bomb: John had been feeding Lisa a one-sided, negative story about Carl. He even confessed to sharing personal details about Bella, my wife, and me. That was the final straw. We were disgusted that Lisa felt so comfortable disrespecting us in our own home and making someone else's birthday about her unfounded jealousy. TL;DR: Friend's girlfriend, armed with "toxic energy" and a jealous streak, ruined friendships and created drama based on a single, birthday event.

Probably not as bad as some people. But on my birthday maybe 6 or 7 years ago I decided to actually do something for the first time in maybe 12 years that didn't involve just going out for a meal with my girlfriend. I hadn't had a night out on my birthday since my 21st. I have quite a lot of friends across three different groups and my birthday fell on a Friday. We'd just moved into a place together so finally had space to have friends over. I bought a load of food and a load of alcohol. I lived on a farm where the landlords had holiday lets that were free and she said some of my friends could stay, or stay a tent in the field. Whatever they like they could do it. My best mate was working and a few people had already let me know they couldn't make it (either because of kids, whatever) and we would do something another time. I was still expecting like at least 10 people to show up, maybe as much as 20. Nobody showed up. Not one. I'm quite tough and I never get upset, but that fucking hurt. I've felt rejection before, part and parcel of being a guy and growing up, but that hurt so bad. I'm 40 this year and in my head I'd always wanted a big party for my birthday, but don't think I'm going to do it. More of us have kids now and we see each other as a group even less than ever before and I can't risk that happening again.

Oh I’m so sorry. This sort of thing is why I have never, ever hosted a birthday event (apart from an ill-fated teenage one with a girl who’s birthday was a week apart from mine, she invited all the chavs and they nicked stuff from my siblings’ bedrooms which I then had to pay for with my birthday money) as I fear my friends would not commit as I am so often an afterthought. I’m 40 next year (today is actually my birthday, lol) and have firmly decided not to even entertain the idea. Have a family get together instead ??

My birthday is 24th March. The global lockdown in UK 23rd March. Your girl was 38 weeks pregnant… it didn’t go down well. Fast forward to the year after, my boss was pregnant and it was just the two of us working she got sick so I cancelled a day off to work to help out. My cat hadn’t come home. We went out looking for him on my lunch break… found a post on Facebook to say he’d been killed and incinerated at the council without being scanned… Then the year after that my husband and I separated 2 years later my grandad died. I don’t celebrate my birthday anymore… you’re all welcome 😂😅

Glad I'm not the only one with a psycho sister. Mine would rather listen to the opinions and stories of others about me over her own brother and when I give my version of events, all of a sudden I'm calling everyone else a liar and refusing to apologize even though I said I apologize for anything I did, just not for what I didn't. She even believed my ex over me when my ex accused me of touching her inappropriately when we were together! I didn't, we stayed friends after we split as our parents were friends and my ex only said this years later after I said I didn't want to be friends any more

At the prompt of my sister, here goes the tale of what has become known in my family as the brain tumour birthday. A couple of days before my birthday our mum collapsed and was rushed to hospital, day before late afternoon it was confirmed as being caused by a brain tumour and on the day itself (Saturday), instead of having a nice meal out and a relaxed couple of days as was originally planned I charged across the country with my wife and young daughter to pick my sister up (with all that has been happening their car insurance had expired that day and had been forgotten) so we went together to the hospital to see her. It was that day that we were told the tumour was inoperable so I spent part of my birthday looking at scans of a "grapefruit sized" tumour inside my mother's skull. She died a week later. Because of this I spent 2 years being 31 and skipped straight over 32

I once stood in my cousin’s shit with flip flops on and the viscosity of the shit meant that, when I stepped up, the straps came up with my foot but the rest of the shoe stayed stuck, meaning my flip flops broke. On my 19th (1990) I was getting ready to go out and my abdomen weird, like when I moved it was like there was a balloon of water moving, anyway the pain gets worse and I ring my mum, I had my own place with my 2yr old daughter, so she came up and called 999 when she saw me as I was in so much pain. Got blue lighted to hospital, I was losing consciousness by now and was being asked if I was pregnant, ( had took a negative test a few days before cos period was a bit scant) they wizzed me to theatreand id had an 8 week ectopic pregnancy that had erupted and i had been bleeding internally for days. I nearly died.They removed my tube and I had 3l of blood transfusion due to loss. I spent a week in hosp and 3 months off work. The thing is, I was having an affair with a no good married man, so I have always seen it as god (or whoever) giving my head a wobble to sort my shit out.... I met a nice guy soon after, and we had our son, who's all grown up now!!. I think that what happened was THE BEST thing for me.

My last birthday, the day before I woke up with a swelling and very painful ankle. This constant agony. My birthday the next day, still in pain, can't do anything - had it off work of course but I'd have called in sick if not. Come that evening I was in so much pain and I was running hot and had a high heart rate so I called 111 and an out of hours GP said I should get checked for an infection (in case of sepsis) and he was really serious and "go NOW" so I went to A&E at 1am, and I needn't have bothered because I was there until 7:30am anyway and the doctor said I should get a blood test but unlikely, so I spent the rest of the week at home in bed, in pain, and very possibly with a cold to top it off. Considering the year before I was working the weekend of my birthday, I never properly celebrated other than a few quiet ones down the pub on my birthday, so it's been 2 boring ones in a row!

My shitty ex left me in Edinburgh at a museum on my own as he was bored and just wanted to go to the pub. At the time I didn't drink. On the same bday holiday he wanted to keep drinking at a bar but i wanted to head back to the hotel. Then he got moody at me for deciding to leave. Left him drunk on the train back at York. He was acting like a drunken ass harassing somebody. He still annoyingly found his way back to our Hull flat a few hours later. While it's my bday today. Having a nice chilled day with my partner. I'm at the pub. He's doing yet more charity shops. And he's emotionally healthy enough to not be moody with me if I want to do my own thing sometimes

I’ve had a few shitty exes and thinking back they all managed to make my birthday miserable. A couple were gigantic shitheads who seemed to set out to ruin it on purpose - won’t go into that! And then one was just a whiny sulky brat all day - got up late so our plans were cut short already. He wanted to watch the football (his team not mine, not an important match or anything) and was stressing about it all day so we cut our plans even shorter to get back in time, mainly so he would shut up about it. Then he whinged constantly because the stream was a bit behind. Eventually he left me at home on my own and went to watch it at the pub down the road by himself. Both should have been red flags but hindsight is 20/20 as they say. Happy birthday, glad you’re having a nice day!

My bunny passed sometime in the night, before my birthday. She was at that point over 12 years old that we know of, but nobody knew her actual D.O.B and age. She was still healthy and fairly mobile, if a bit slow and not prepared to jump up on things any more. So we assumed that her age meant something failed, and hoped that she was sleeping, that it was quick and she didn't really feel anything. We'd had just over 10 wonderful years to the day together(adopting her had actually been an early birthday present to me) and I knew her time could be soon. Since it was a very humid August heatwave, we had no choice but to bury her as soon as we could, because I couldn't fathom putting her in a freezer to be taken away for cremation, especially since I don't really trust pet crematoriums anyway. So we buried her in the daytime after she passed, in her favourite spot outside. That was my 24th birthday. After I found her, I took a small cutting of her beautiful, wavy 3 toned fur and I keep it in a glass locket with all my best jewelry, so I can 'see', and feel her whenever I like. It took me a long time to bring myself to wash the t-shirt I was wearing the last day that she was alive. She followed me everywhere and her fur would get everywhere too, no matter how much I vacuumed, so I was constantly finding reminders of her for a while. 12th birthday - was told that I'd killed my twin in the birth canal. 18th birthday - my brother stole all the money I'd been gifted from my birthday cards in the middle of the night before I got the chance to open them (circa £1000 total). Queue me having to lie to relatives about receiving money and what I subsequently spent it on. 21st birthday - went out for a big meal with around 20 friends, only for every last one of them to leave the restaurant when it came to time to pay, expecting me to foot the bill. I'd been invited to the restaurant, thought we were all paying our own way. First use of my credit card. 37th birthday - got stuck in Munich due to the worst snow drifts they'd experienced in decades. 4 days of uncertainty, going to the airport each morning only to be told late afternoon we weren't flying and then having to find a hotel each night. On the 5th day we hired a car and drove back to the UK. Thankfully work was understanding about why I couldn't make it in.

Got run over by a Porsche on my fifteenth birthday, just by Ham Common, after running away from the police because we'd been drinking lemon hooch 🤣🤣🤣 Landed on my face, and cut my chin deep enough to expose the bone which was only minor compared to the fact the blood ruined a beautiful Machine Head t-shirt I'd gotten from the gig a few months earlier. It was truly surreal, when I stood up there was a load of German tourists passing by taking photos, my Aussie mate told me it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen, and my mum threw up while I was getting my face stitched up 🤣

I got a call from the police the night before that my dad, who had been missing for a week, had been found and was in a hospital in North Yorkshire. I was in Portsmouth. So I drove there, got there at 4am, wandered through the hospital and found his ward, but wasn't allowed on it until 8am. So just loitered for 4 hours as it was too cold in the car. At 8am, I went to see him, he had pneumonia and wasn't in the best state, and I had to tell him that the night after he went missing, his brother had died from a brain tumour. Also, prior to this we hadn't spoken for about 5 years. Happy 30th to me. Very long drive back to his home.

Got kicked in the balls and filmed myself peeing which became evidential. I was a police officer and we arrested a very violent male and had him at hospital under police restraint. We were fighting him for hours on end at hospital while checks were being done, he was that violent. We had a brief respite and I went to pee, I came back and he was fighting with officers agian. I activated my camera, the thing about cameras is when activated they go back a minute which unfortunately showed me going to the toilet. My parents kicked me out on my 18th birthday. I was not a bad kid. I was undiagnosed autistic & ADHD with PTSD from being sexually abused from age 8 to 14. I argued with my parents a lot, self harmed and was constantly late to school because life was awful. They thought I needed a reality check and kicked me out the second I turned 18. I rented a room in a guy's flat. He was in his late 30s and would get drunk and hammer on my door in the middle of the night asking to spunk on my stilettos. I'd lived there less than two months when one of my 'friends' raped me in my bed while I was so drunk I couldn't stand (he was stone cold sober). Parents, when your kid turns 18, just take them out to dinner or something. Maybe don't pack all their stuff up in cardboard boxes and dump it all outside for them to figure it out.

My housemates had advertised a house party in our student house (not for my birthday, just as a freshers thing). 300 people saw the Facebook ad and turned up. 2 guys had a fight in the stairs and police were called. I slept with my desk pushed up to my door for fear someone would barge in (I was quite naive and hadn’t really seen house parties before). I woke up the day after my birthday with a man sleeping in my bathroom, and a threat from uni that we were going to get kicked off our course before starting it. Luckily they didn’t follow through with kicking us off but I did move to another accommodation 2 days later

I have two. A kid was taken ill (about 17 years old but mild learning difficulties) and collapsed outside. I had to pick him up off the floor and help get him inside from the pouring rain. I got back to the canteen and my colleagues as a prank hid my cake and I accidentally sat on it. The second one was not on my birthday but almost was. My ex knew I had a series of mishaps on my birthday and rarely celebrated it. We were going through a bad spell and she took me out for a meal. On the way back, she said "I was going to get cheesecake from that nice cafe but we'll get it next time". A few weeks later, we broke up over the phone and she said "I was going to break up with you on your birthday as I know you don't usually celebrate it and thought cheesecake might make you feel better". I hate my birthday. Been in a car crash, fell downstairs, been stood up, missed a train.

My 13th birthday I had a little disco in the church hall on a Saturday afternoon. I was so excited as for the first time I could remember my birthday was on a Saturday and my parents said we could do whatever I wanted all day. After the party, my mum and dad wanted to go to the pub. I complained I didn’t want to go on my birthday (both parents borderline alcoholics at that point in time). A huge argument ensued where my dad told me he hated me and wished I’d never been born. I was dragged to the pub. It was one of the regulars who was a dwarf, birthday too. The locals had clubbed together to get him a lap dance and stripper to come to the pub. So on my 13th birthday I sang happy birthday to a dwarf getting a naked lap dance whilst my parents continued to pickle their livers. I got a bag of cheese and onion crispy for tea and I remember being absolutely starving all night

I was bullied really badly at school. However, ever the optimist, I organised a 16th birthday party and the main bullies threatened people into not coming to my party, stole my invites and threw them around the school after defacing them for me to see. Thankfully, some people did come, but mostly from the year above and below as they didn't get the threats. This was not long after I was beaten by the same group of bullies and ostracised at school. The whole situation was a mess at the school and they didn't know how to handle the targeted attacks on me, so would separate me from lessons, instead of the multiple bullies. It's 21 years since that happened but my god, did I have to dig into it in therapy only just last year.

Had a huge check out and check in at the hotel that I work at. The boss got the cake and also blew out all of the candles. Apparently it was a thing they did for all birthdays where the boss got the nice cake. It was my second day so I wasn't aware. HR got my DOB from my ID. If asked by anyone I usually say it is a day that I typically won't be in the office with most others such as New Years days essentially to avoid shit like this. On my 12th birthday my friend gave me a black eye, on my 13th birthday the same friend gave me another black eye. First time intentional cos we fell out, second time a freak accident. But on my my 21st birthday I had money to pay for a day and night out for both me and my best friend (a different friend to the one above). She picked the restaurant we went to for lunch and I let her cause she has weird issues with food. She spent the day talking about herself and shutting me down and making fun of me (like the she always did). I wanted to go shopping and then go for a few drinks but she went in a bad mood. Instead we went to the casino where her boyfriend worked (he wasn't actually working that day but she still wanted to go). She blew all of her money in 10 minutes while I actually managed to win a few hundred pounds. I was going to share my winnings with her (cos I was a mug). She told me she was bored and going home... and ditched me at 6pm on a winter's night, 2 hours from home (cos of course, she lived in the city by that point and I didn't)... I felt so dejected that I just went home. At least I got to keep my winnings for myself. Weirdly it still took several years for me to end that friendship. Only regret was that it took me so long.

Was too ill to go on the surprise 40th trip to London my wife had booked us. Still recovering from the previous day when I was in A&E (instead of going to the office Christmas do) having a doctor shove a massive syringe into the back of my throat trying to drain an abscess near my tonsil (“quinsy” - a right bastard). She had a few goes and didn’t really manage to hit it, so sliced it open with a scalpel. That did the trick! Lots of pus draining into the back of my throat. 2 or 3 rounds of IV antibiotics too, which was nice. This was a few days after I’d learned the immunosuppressant drugs I’d been trying for the past couple of years hadn’t worked, and I needed major surgery for a permanent stoma (and a bag for life, but not the Tesco kind). Good start to my 5th decade! 😄

We lifted her off and got her laid down calling an ambulance to come. As I rushed to help I slipped and impailled my foot. So there were two of us injured Fortunately her spike went between her ribs and lung no permanent damage, I kept quiet about my wound and hobbled about for the rest of the night and had to go to hospital the next day as my foot swelled up So yeah not a great birthday

Okay, long story time. One of the reasons I dread celebrating a big birthday is because I haven't had a great experience of significant birthday's. On my fortieth birthday I got such a bad infection in my throat I lost my voice for 6 months. My sixtieth birthday, husband was in hospital, eldest daughter took me out for a cream tea and I got food poisoning. My sixty with birthday I broke my leg. On my seventieth my special birthday weekend I couldn't sleep in the bed because it wasn't suitable for me. But the worst one was my fifteth. My then fiance and I had a row, well okay, people argue. I left him upstairs in bed because he wasn't feeling well. I took him a cup of coffee, and he's on the phone to his ex girlfriend who is complaining about having a herpes flare up. He continued talking to her for the next three hours. I was miffed, I cannot lie, I was definitely miffed about this hours long call and moaned about it. I went back downstairs and made myself a cup of tea. Then I heard crashing about upstairs and went to investigate. My then fiance was having an epileptic seizure. He did suffer from epilepsy, but this was a particularly bad one. So I phoned for an ambulance and when they came went with him to the hospital. After a little while in A+ E (Emergency department), he comes around after the effects of the seizure, and the first thing he says to me is to call the Ex girlfriend to make sure she's okay. Moaning and arguing with someone who isn't really themselves doesn't exactly do anyone any good. So I called her, and she was absolutely fine. He came home the following day, and didn't apologise to me at all. We ended up having another row and didn't talk to each other for a couple of days. We did eventually make up, went on the evening celebration we had missed out on. So that's why I am dubious about celebrating my birthday. In contrast this year I had a day where I was truly spoilt. Two of my sisters sent me really lovely thoughtful gifts, my niece sent me a Cornish cream tea, my eldest daughter took me out to Creams for lunch, and my son sent me a small hamper of wine and chocolates.

We'd been booked on United, and the flight was full so I didn't even get to sit with my colleagues. We were fairly poor, and going to the cinema was reserved to a birthday treat, especially for me who loved films and the cinema. My mum, younger sister and me were going to the cinema to see The Village on my birthday. During the trailers, I must have said something mum didn’t like. Usually I can recall whatever I said that was an abomination to her, but for the life of me I can’t remember. I guarantee it would had been something normal a kid would say, like I wanted different sweets or something. I can only remember how she was screaming at me, telling me how horrible and awful I was. She and my sister then moved away from me and I sat alone watching the film, just crying but trying not to let her see how upset I was. We went to food afterwards and they were both just chatting to each other and having a great time. When I go home I just went to my room, and that was the end of that day. I’m 40 now, and she’s never acknowledged it. I think if I ever did, she’d tell me it didn’t happen anyway. The following year she just ignored my birthday completely, but that was an improvement.

Spending the day travelling from Yorkshire to Disneyland Paris by train. It was just after COVID and the queues for the Eurostar at St Pancras were just unbelievable. We spent about 4 hours in the queue. The train was very late, we missed our connection in Lille. Had to walk to the other station in Lille and try to get on another train when none of the station staff had been told hundreds of people were turning up from the Eurostar. The day before my 38th, the nurse on my mum's recovery ward revealed that mum was actually dying and I needed to get there ASAP. Spent my whole 38th birthday holding her hand at her bedside, not letting anyone say it was my birthday out loud because I didn't want her to know (she was on some heavy drugs, she didn't know,) crying on some poor nurses when it got too much, and then going back to her horribly silent bungalow to look through paperwork piles for her will and any other important documents, and to get some sleep before going back the next day. She lasted two more days, during which I developed bronchitis either from the heavy smoke in her bungalow or from the petri dish that is a packed hospital ward. This was a week before Christmas. :)

I have a late Jan birthday, I was due to drive one birthday evening, after work, from Notfolk to London to stay overnight with my then fiance before we flew to Amsterdam the next day to visit friends for a few days. I left home about 7:30pm. It started to snow very heavily, real blizzard conditions. I hadn't been on the M11 long before it completely ground to a halt. At 3.00am the Police finally started getting vehicles to turn around and get off the motorway. It was still snowing. I took a wrong turn somewhere and got lost. Ended up parking at the side of a road and trying to catch some sleep. About 7.30am I went to get going again and discovered a rear wheel bearing had gone. Walked 3 miles to the nearest town where I lucked out and found a friendly garage who deposited me in a warm kitchen with tea & bacon butties while they towed my car in, sourced & fitted the replacement bearing. It then took me 1.5 hours to drive home where I arrived 24 hours after I had left.

We turn up: there's barely anyone there, 90% of the games are gone, and they're no longer free. My Dad growing up was an alcoholic abuser. He’d been drinking from midday, I’d been staying at a friend’s for the week (my escape throughout school holidays). My Mum phoned my mobile asking to come home to open my presents, cards etc, so I walked home to find him asleep on the sofa. My mum starts passing me presents and cards to open, he wakes to the noise, kicks off. I simply put the present I was mid-opening on the floor and walk back to my friends. Later on, I return to the house and was attacked due to “ruining” my own birthday. I don’t celebrate my birthday/Christmas etc because everything was always ruined. I’m now a Mental Health First Aid trainer, and talk openly about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and other things I have survived.

As the day went on I got them calling one by one cancelling (including my best friend) until one remained. A friend from sixth form. I called the last friend just to let him know it was just me and him. He said he was just about to get on the bus and he’d be there soon. I was just Relieved I wasn’t going to spend my 18th birthday all alone. I timed the bus so knew roughly when he’d get to the bus stop and waited there as he didn’t know where I lived and it would be easier to just wait for him. I waited a whole hour after the ETA just in case he was running late but he never showed up. He must have just f-d me off and gone to do something else. It started to rain aswell and it ruined my new suede style trainers I had just gotten that day. I walked back hone soaked and just went upstairs and went to bed. Never heard from that “Friend” ever again. It was the Last time I put my friends before my own needs. I went off to uni the next year and never looked back.

My 11th birthday. It landed on a Friday, so my parents went to the closest village pub for the evening which they often did on a Friday leaving me in the care of my brother (he’s 11 years older than me) Around 10pm, he got me up, put me in his car and drove to the closest town about 15 miles away. When we got there I was left alone in his car in a dark car park for around half an hour. On the way home, the roads were icy, he crashed and we had to walk to the nearest house (this was the 90s before mobiles were common) so he could call a friend to come and get us. I didn’t fully understand till later that he was deep into a heroin addiction, had taken me along to his dealer and had gotten high before driving home. My parents were completely unaware of his addiction until this point. He never looked after me again.

My sister always tried to ruin anyone's birthday. She would always throw tantrums to the point no one got any joy from celebrating because we knew she'd have a meltdown. I have a sad and gross answer…Dec 2024, my 23rd birthday, I was recovering from major surgery for a tumour, had just got out of hospital for a pulmonary embolism, thought it would be my last birthday due to the tumour being incorrectly diagnosed as a rare untreatable cancer, I was mostly bed bound but had to have an emergency doctors appointment because I had a fecal impaction (from all the opiates I was on) so bad that I couldn’t walk or sit. Came home, took laxatives and did two enemas that didn’t work, eventually had to put on a glove and dig it all out myself. Was the most disgusting and painful thing I’ve ever done. Didn’t want to eat anything for the entire day, took more painkillers and spent the rest of the day in bed, in pain from surgery, in the dark, thinking about how I was going to die at some point. Anyway, I lived, and I try to be grateful for that 😅

Trapped a nerve in my back was in agony, had to wait 5 hours while wearing basically a shawl because I hadn’t been wearing PJs, and then when I picked up my prescription I had to pay for it for the first time ever as it was my 19th birthday so free prescriptions ran out the day before for me!

Not drastically horrifying, but as a chronically shy kid I'd say the time my parents hired a magician for my birthday party, and they made me stand up in front of everybody as their assistant. I'm sure most kids would love it, but not me. I think I had a bit of a meltdown partway through and one of my friends had to take over... I didn't have another big party after that. 😅

Whooping cough, sprained both wrists and both ankles separately not all the same birthday. Broke a rib. Got made redundant on my 18th and didn't get paid along with all the people that I worked with that was meant to celebrate with me so no one could.

I guess it wasn't the greatest birthday the year my dad died (two weeks before my 17th) but it didn't happen on my birthday and everything was a bit shit at that time, so the birthday wasn't any worse or better than any other day really. Nothing particularly awful has happened on my birthday ever, at least not that I can remember. But my 40th will be this year, so there's still time!

Nothing. Literally. My birthday is near Christmas and I spent it alone… Unfortunately it’s the date most people have their work’s do, the children break up from school, the day before wages are paid etc. 🙄

My 13th birthday i started my first every period. I had a sleepover with 2 girls who hadnt started theirs yet. They walked in on me in the bathroom trying to change my sanitary towel and i was mortified and ended up sending them home and crying all night.

A few years back, my flight home got cancelled, and as the next available one was only the day after, I was provided with a hotel room. The airline messed up the booking though, so I had to spend 4h on customer service calls to sort that out. Then, after finally getting booked into a new hotel, the kitchen was out of order, so the room service consisted of delivery pizza (which at least was very good. And there was cake).
