One of my favorites. I initially wanted 226 but got mine w 6 or 7 mags, holster n light for 600. Couldn't say no to that.
It shoots wonderfully. I forget which parts I used but added short reset which is a must for me. Almost perfect

vortex has their fix it for life warranty because they know everything they sell cheaper than the razor line has middling QC or borderline planned obsolescence, which is good or bad for a red dot you plan to use for a CCW depending on perspective
a 407k is a better dot in terms of reliability and durability, but maybe not enough to warrant the cost difference or losing the vortex warranty. all in all at this price range just flip a coin

On Sage Dynamic's drop tests, Defender CCW beat the 407k, the ST beat the 407c, and the XL peat the 507 comp.
Electronically Holosun is more reliable, but vortex offers better battery cap and gets much brighter.

The dot not being as clear is debatable, but the glass is noticeably better on the CCW than the 407k. Little to no fisheye.

Im a holosun main now. All my pistols had a vortex but I have too many issues with them. 2 now have had issues with zeroing ( i have to adjust the optic and then rack/hit it to get the dot to move) and I actually prefer the holosun reticle appearance over the vortex. I like my vortex ccw but I prefer a 407. Haven't had an issue with the holo yet
