breakfast cereal

had an unexpected convo with some fellow genx olds in the office today, wherein we were talking about the breakfast cereals of our youths. one of the guys was forced to grow up on cornflakes and rice krispies, which resulted in me and the other guy to start remembering absolutely BURYING those in sugar (when forced to eat them at grandparents' houses) and spooning out the sugar milk after we'd finished the completely soggy actual cereal. it turned out to be a delightful little memory, one i hadn't thought of in decades. this conversation also resulted in us remembering digging through the brand new cereal boxes to get the toy inside, then never being able to stuff the bags back in, resulting in stale cereal by day two. ah, memories. on a related note: how have cereal companies still not managed to perfect the delivery system of their product?? i suppose eliminating the toy helped a bit, but damn.
