Are the 'play games and make money' like Testerup actually legit?

if so, which ones would you recommend for some extra income? I know there are other apps but looking at reviews they all seem to have the same issue, where you have to play for long periods of time for little reward. They also don't really mention if it is easy to get the money into your bank account or is it that you can only use vouchers in stores like Amazon and such?
I would be interested to hear from someone who actually played these recently, all the posts I have seen are from over a year ago. Thank you.
AshleyOm@reddit
As far as I can work out, the games have zero to do with it. They just hope that will keep you entertained just enough to persevere. They make money on adverts, for example, testerup get paid £0.5 for every minute of adverts played. The player, gets £0.01 of that.
I just can't understand how the adverts say they made £200 but you only made £81. That's Soo far off the truth it's ridiculous. The government should force them to show 3 hours gets you 5p
Shiny_Mega_Gengar@reddit
Honestly, they should be sued for false advertising.
Tim-Sanchez@reddit
They're legit in that you make money, but the reality is you make pennies. They're all the same. You're far better off getting a part-time job, or putting your time into something like bank switching/referrals which are lower effort for higher reward.
Nervous_Neat8060@reddit (OP)
thank you. I have a part time job but I do play some phone games that is why I was thinking if this was worth it.
Could you explain what is bank switching?
Scarred_fish@reddit
Banks reward you for leaving another bank and joining them. Some really good offers on at the moment :

Only thing to be wary of here is that it can affect your credit score temporarily. Not a huge worry if you're not planning on making any big purchases of course. I'm looking to get a mortgage this year, so I've stopped them for now.
Weekly_Elevator_9019@reddit
Is there like a minimum amount or something I need to transfer to the new bank to get the reward?
tomwaitsgoatee@reddit
Varies from offer to offer, but it's usually something like £1,000 and 2 direct debits.
TachiH@reddit
They used to be much better back when you could do the advert watching ones. You used to be able to exploit it with a bunch of different browsers and a VPN to watch like 20 at a time. For obvious reasons they got rid of those exploits so now pay literally pennies.
WitchiEmpress@reddit
I do testerup. It’s good but it’s not close to liveable. Just a nice little extra.
BrokenHeartofsadness@reddit
what is liveable? I Also heard someone mention something called eureka? guessing they are the same sort of thing?
Ok-Cake9431@reddit
The other guys says in 3 hours he made 5p. How is that a nice little extra? Or do you need to do something specific to increase the amount?
WitchiEmpress@reddit
Yea so getting different levels gets different awards. My last one was getting level 40 for £37. Level 35 was £7. Level 18 was 50p. So it depends on the game and the awards.
dex24033@reddit
Mate that’s 5x 1p pick n mix now that is a nice little extra
Scarred_fish@reddit
I gave Testerup a go a couple of weekends back during a travel delay.
In around 3 hours of which at least half the time was spent watching adverts, I managed to make 5p.
BrokenHeartofsadness@reddit
wtf .. is that all? after 3 hours that sucks.. I saw an advert for this on my phone thought the the app might be a scam so went to read.. now i see its not even worth playing. I heard some people say its real
Scarred_fish@reddit
Oh its real, but this is the rate you actually earn at.
Juucce1@reddit
Thank you for spending 3 hours of your life doing this. Everytime I tried one I'd give up after a few minutes because I was suspicious of it, didn't want to waste time on it lol
Numerous_Ad_4469@reddit
You should always read the customers ' reviews before taking part in such "Play Games for Cash" games. They are the ones who are telling the actual truth.
Scarred_fish@reddit
It's pretty hard to find a way to make a travel delay even more boring but I managed it!
A strange sense of curiosity took over around an hour in wondering just how long it was going to take to get anything. The games are very heavily geared towards pay to win, so brutal amounts of adverts are required to get anywhere at all.
Numerous_Ad_4469@reddit
Disgusting, Scarred_fish. They may have paid you a genuine 5p, but by making out that it pays you a small fortune for just a few minutes, they cheated you in other ways. Do you see what I mean?
Entfly@reddit
I signed up for a survey thing and looked at the "rewards".
It was like 190000 points for £35 on PayPal
The first survey I loaded up estimated 20 minutes for 4000 points, so 12000 an hour day or 120000 for a ten hour working day
Who the fuck is actually doing that
ApplicationDry8483@reddit
YouGov is the same, you have to churn through them to make anything.
I keep meaning to just write a script to just get LLM's to do them instead
bobmanuk@reddit
Testerup is shit, I have around £20+ in there but cant withdraw until £70, at least that used to be the case. I now use eureka, surveys are shit and monotonous but not bad if you have time, they have games as well and you can cash out at £4 for a voucher from multiple platforms (Tesco/Amazon etc) or you can request a cash card, itll be like a digital visa card you can add to contactless payement system on your phone.
BrokenHeartofsadness@reddit
what is eureka?
SilverCompetitive902@reddit
How much have you made from eureka
bobmanuk@reddit
Over the past few months in the £30’s I’m working on another batch now and am at around £4-5 so useful if I need something from Tesco for lunch but trying to save up for a bulk withdrawal
SilverCompetitive902@reddit
Not bad, bit of extra cash. Sounds like something worth doing a little bit a day for some petty cash. Or for tesco meal deals lol
archamedian_orchid@reddit
WE MUST OBTAIN THE MEAL DEAL
bobmanuk@reddit
Exactly, I have it in case I’ve forgotten stuff to make lunch with or left my lunch on the stairs before leaving the house. Tesco is around the corner so not a major problem.
They have had a bit of a dry patch for games, mostly sorting style games and shit payouts for the levels you get to. But I’ve been playing rock ‘n cash recently, yes it’s a casino esque “game” but it’s not bad to put on auto spin and just keep an eye on it. My problem is that i keep running out of funds and no big wins are coming. Guess that’s how they get you hooked.
I’ll probably drop it soon for another one.
I only tend to have 1 game on the go though so my progress isn’t fast. I just don’t have massive amounts of time so can’t really grind too well
Chance-Bread-315@reddit
Think the limit for withdrawing from testerup is £20 now, might even be lower. I've cashed out around £24 before.
OkBlueberry3365@reddit
H
Icy-Astronomer-8202@reddit
It's jack shit. Not worth it. It's legit but they pay you so little it's not worth your time
Numerous_Ad_4469@reddit
I once tried earning a few pounds playing "Gold Miner" on Testerup or something similar. I could play only the very basic "Gold Miner" version, not the "World" version and it was so boring, repeating the same screens time and time again. I gave up eventually.
reeceburk@reddit
I made £270 in less than a month on testerup, I have a full time job and a kid, just played coin master when I got a free sec and spent maybe £40 in micro transactions
onepercentaj1@reddit
Me too only problem im having is with the payout
Puzzleheaded_Net979@reddit
I've been using testerup for a little while now, cashed out $80 once spent about $20 and currently waiting a $272 payout ,spent about $100 ( definitely didnt need to spend that much had another 2 weeks but i got impulsive). I will say it is hit or miss. You have to do the games with the bonuses but if you can't hyperfixtate on it for a couple hours a day, you won't progress enough to hit the time bonuses. I cashed out right before I hit the next time bonus so I already have another $60 in my account. Spending a little is the best way to make a lot. My current game I've spent $14 and made $90 out of $700. I've seen some people say that they got banned after a couple payouts with no explanation as to why so I'll update once my current one is no longer pending.
IndicationIll4612@reddit
what games?
Puzzleheaded_Net979@reddit
I've played sunshine island, coin master and now monopoly go. I play whatever has the time rewards and looks like I'd kind of enjoy. I spend at least at few hours every day playing. I did briefly play one of the merging games but didn't get very far cuz I couldn't get into it
Puzzleheaded_Net979@reddit
It took 7 days but payout was successful.
HourAmount7363@reddit
If you want a real app that pays a bit for surveys try this one I make around £5-£10 a day consistently
https://attapoll.app/join/wviyu
Attapoll
Doing surveys I make around £5-£10 a day from about half an hour to an hours work.
It’s not life changing money but it adds up only 2 weeks in and I’ve made £50.
It’s only £2.50 cash out for revolute and £3 for PayPal.
Highly recommend doing surveys for anyone who needs a small bit of extra income who has free time.
Superb-Cake977@reddit
They suspended my account with a $700 balance for no reason. This is a scam. I have reported this to Apple and the German authorities.
meiggs@reddit
Here is a whole review on testerup:

Nervous_Neat8060@reddit (OP)
thank you!
Advanced-Yak4382@reddit
Egh 😆
ExileNorth@reddit
It's a scam for developers to try and get people to make in app purchases. Nothing more, nothing less.
exhausted-pangolin@reddit
If it's app based, they're almost certainly using your phone to mine Bitcoin and stuff like that. It's why crapware apps make your phone so hot - they're stealing your electricity and processing power for their own profit
Chance-Bread-315@reddit
Wait what does it mean/where can I find out more about this lol.
Chance-Bread-315@reddit
I use testerup, have cashed out twice and both times it was really easy. It takes a couple of days to process, then pays out into paypal, then I transfer from paypal into my bank acct. First time I earnt \~£24, second time \~£40. I am unemployed and chasing dopamine bc of my adhd so I can put a lot of time into playing.
Important to note though, you're not being payed for testing the games. You're selling your data - you have to allow tracking and all of the games have looooads of ads.
Original_Bad_3416@reddit
The only people who make from testerup are the people who make the videos telling you to get testerup
DeezWuts@reddit
Swagbucks was king back in the day, i got £40 for playing a game for less than 3 nights. You have to fully check the games now a lot of em are time sinks and offer literal pennies.
I just play the games for a month whilst im watching TV or something, you can also do surveys but they can be sucky too.
Always good to check them if you're about to buy insurance or something though i often get £20-£50 back when ive got mine.
SilverCompetitive902@reddit
I made about £60 in free cash over a couple months, but that was about 6 months ago and then the offers were barely anything or purposeful had goals that were unachievable, and made like only £1 over the next couple weeks so stopped bothering. Tried some other apps and the low reward or impossible goals was the same in the others aswell.
I think there was a period they had it where you could get a little money but once they got an audiance they changed it so they could now make money.
deltree000@reddit
You really need to spend money to make money on Free Cash. Like playing with no paid for bonuses will net you maybe £10-15 a week.
SilverCompetitive902@reddit
Yes and no, i spent a little only when the reward would at least reimburse the amount. But even then its a risk because so many times will it not count you reaching a goal even if you provide proof, so spemding money is pretty much gambling. Not worth doing it.
irisiane@reddit
I did Mistplay. It's only worthwhile if you tend to play time waster games anyway.
muffinhuffinpuffin@reddit
Yes but the money is pitiful. I mean, if you play the games they advertise then sure, you might as well get some money for playing the games rather than nothing, but the amount is tiny.
TheRadishBros@reddit
Yes, but the amount you get is tiny, and they’re paying you for your data, not your testing.
