I made a NSFW browser app based on Reddit content
Posted by RareJury8529@reddit | RedditAlternatives | View on Reddit | 48 comments
It features browsing specific NSFW categories or subreddits of your choice with a scrolling tiktok like experience which is a great alternative to Reddit original browsing experience.
On top of that, it includes an anonymous video chat where you can match with someone online and invite them to watch content together right inside the app.
I'd happily take your feedbacks, the website is free and doesn't display any ads.

What's the deal with age verification being required in every country?
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
In which country do you get the age verification ? I just verified I dont get it in the Netherland
grimreeper1995@reddit
Success! I was testing from Canada before.
Kim_jong_korea@reddit
Great app
Somanycookies1@reddit
Need to verify age even with vpn? No. Never
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
You need to verify age only in states or countries where it's mandatory
Somanycookies1@reddit
I VPN'd to many countries and still.
genesisbub@reddit
Excellent work. For future iterations it'd be really nice to see
TY!

A download button for media would be great!
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
Will see to add this feature :). Else you can add the post to your favorites on the site

There's no browser there's a video. At random there's option to navigate around but doesn't really have any choices or am I missing something
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
It's an application replicating the UX of application such as Tiktok or Instagram Reel. So you scroll into a feed.
There is a top navigation bar that auto-hide if that's what you are referring to. On mobile there is a hamburger icon on the top left to show it. On desktop there is a small purple arrow on the top middle part of the screen if you put your mouse there the navigation bar will show up.
You can then navigate in different categories or search for specific subreddits

I'm on an android phone. How do I scroll through it
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
You swipe vertically with your finger, just like you would scroll on any website :)
gethereddout@reddit
Overall fantastic. But the scrolling interaction breaks because it opens the lightbox. I’d recommend keeping the viewer at the base level unless users explicitly click to go full screen. That way the scroll down to next content pattern isn’t constantly breaking
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
On my device it only opens the lightbox if I tap the media, you get it while scrolling ?
connor42@reddit
On iPhone most recent OS using safari and Firefox
On Home. Could not scroll either, lightbox open videos to full screen immediately every time
Video opens to full screen without touching the screen at all even if I reload the page
And on every scroll, so every scroll requires video to be closed before scrolling to next
Also is it supposed to show the same videos in the same order, as it is for me too
Ideally would be good if UI could be hidden and just use gestures to navigate, perhaps a long press to hide and to bring it back
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
The issue with scrolling and video playing in fullscreen should be fixed now! Can you confirm?
Will see what I can do regarding hiding the UI, it's a bit of a challenge UX wise let say
connor42@reddit
Fixed now for me!
Also letting you know the broken square (maximise?) icon on the right side under mute/unmute button doesn’t seem to do anything for me, it didn’t seem to do anything yesterday before changes also
Haha I do understand, these things aren’t as simple as making the request. ImageFap mobile has a similar thing, Redgifs removed their similar functionality functionality possibly for UX reasons
gethereddout@reddit
The tap vs click on mobile is VERY subtle. Super easy to mistake
Aznoire@reddit
This is amazing and addicting as hell!
Could you add an easy way to open, in a new tab, whatever video is currently playing?

Slow-Echidna-5884@reddit
I guess I should read the comments first, but let me know how you did this. General overview.
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
What do you mean? Like how I got the idea or technically?
Slow-Echidna-5884@reddit
Ok I read them. So curious how you start something like this.
xoexohexox@reddit
I bookmarked this, it's great - what I really want to do though is curate and save more than 4 sources and scroll through those.
IceCreamGamer@reddit
Add the option to save subreddits for easier selection into multi view (or allow quick import (subreddits with quickpaste and a delimiter).
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
Feature added you can pin specific subreddits, or create custom categories
medicinaltequilla@reddit
fuck i came already
Pizza_EATR@reddit
Nice!
The zoom breaks and the image just floats away to the side.
I cannot adjust the time of the video in multiview :/
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
Fixed both issues :)
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
Yeah I'm not happy with the zoom feature, I will rework it asap.
For the multiview I will see to add the video timeline bar in each cells, else for now you can expand a cell and adjust the time there
Randolpho@reddit
Do you call that watch together feature “fap buddies”?
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
I guess you can call it that way, indeed :)
Noname_FTW@reddit
If possible some tags would probably help.
JackRosier@reddit
incredible work
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
Thanks mate!
PanTroglo@reddit
The independent scrolling in the Multi view is brilliant!
It lets you enjoy a clip in one panel while scrolling another panel for the next good dopamine hit 😎
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
Thanks for the feedback, indeed it's really addictive browsing that way 🤭
theory_42@reddit
Looks great. Would be nice to be able to make a list of subreddits and browse through all of them.
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
Will definitely implement that, thanks for the suggestion!
rividz@reddit
This is great and something I'll previously use.
Something that was great about the old Reddit is that sellers were not allowed. Everyone was just doing it for the love of the game. If you categorize subreddits by which ones allow sellers and have a button you can hit to disable them, people would use that. You might get users that already have left Reddit.
pm-me_ur_submission@reddit
Interesting!
I'd love to see the multi instructions more than once. I don't think I got it from seeing it once. Either like a bag screen with a 'never show again' box (which wouldn't work for me, I clear cache and cookies after every session), or maybe a repeat in settings after displaying once.
RareJury8529@reddit (OP)
I added a small help button, also fixed some bugs in the multi view mode.
It should be more reliable now and with the help button you should be good now, thanks for the feedback!
