It came on my shuffle and I tried to sing along with it. I know all the words. I STILL know all the words, but I can't keep up anymore! Sucks getting old!

One of the things I am so happy and yet so mad about...I got to watch him perform it live, and he was flawless. But I also tried to record it on my phone, didn't realize I still had it on "photo" and not "video". So when I thought I was hitting record, I was just taking a single still frame.

A while back there was a Tumblr meme going around called "White People Like _____". It was all silly stuff like "white people like looking at a line building up behind them and saying 'boy looks like we got here just in time!'." Mine was "White people like making sure everyone knows they can *totally* nail the fast part of Barenaked Ladies' One Week".

I mean to this day, I hate If I Had A Million Dollars because the lyrics just don't do it for me. I like songs with deeper, meaningful lyrics (then and now). I didn't like the song to start out with and then it was used in lottery ad, which ran constantly. I was to the point where I was ready to scream at the thought of that song.

It’s the kind of song that is written by a theater kid that only other theater kids think is funny. In other words, it’s not funny. That’s how I always viewed this song and Barenaked Ladies in general.

Oh god. Very important band to me. My first proper 'favourite' band. I learned to play guitar, inspired by listening to BNL, and there's a couple of guitar tabs out there with my name on. My first gig was BNL at the Royal Albert Hall, and I saw them Soooo many times after that. I was all over the forums (barenaked.net - I have a t-shirt!), and even got involved in the UK fan site. I listened intently to every new release, got friends into the band too. Then Steve left and I just kinda stopped listening.
