Which supermarket has the best meal deals?

So I've started dabbling in meal deals for the first time recently and have taken a strong liking to them, I've been having the ones from asda, usually a fajita wrap, sushi and a ribena, this one costs £3.74, should I start making a diversion on my commutei to a different shop for a better meal deal or what?
PepsiMaxSumo@reddit
Then Asda, Sainsbury’s, onestop etc aren’t good.
Virtual_Opinion_8630@reddit
Which wacky items are in Co-ops meal deal?
I wonder if it's down to their relationships with more independent brands
PepsiMaxSumo@reddit
I’m pretty sure rollover hotdogs are included as a main, and the drinks selection has all sorts you don’t see elsewhere.
It’s the snacks though, last time I went to co-op I had a co-op Irresistible chocolate orange brownie as a the snack. Seen some interesting pork pies and sausage rolls.
theoldmototoad@reddit
yeah they have some nice desserts in the co-op meal deal
WheresMyAbs98@reddit
I’d say the quality of the M&S ones is significantly higher but as are the prices
PepsiMaxSumo@reddit
Other than the chicken salad which is garbage from Tesco, m and s’s quality is about the same maybe slightly better on the other sandwiches.
Apart from the ham and cheese, think m and s is the worse one.
WheresMyAbs98@reddit
I’ve had every sandwich from both and I can say with confidence that I prefer every single sandwich from M&S and that there is a noticeable difference in quality.
PepsiMaxSumo@reddit
There’s an M&S near my office, but it’s one of the big ones that don’t do meal deals so a sandwich, drink and crisps is about £8-9 depending on what you want.
Where the Tesco express over the road is £3.70, so for me it’s incomparable.
The m and s in the train station does a meal deal, but it’s a tiny selection. I often just get the 3 for £8 deli deal - now that is a good deal.
Roofless_@reddit
M&S in terms of choice and quality.
Think_Money_6919@reddit
M&S do not sell a meal deal. You can buy what looks like a typical meal deal but there’s no ‘deal’ or discount aspect to it
96-JS@reddit
It must depend on location but they definitely do, it's £5.95 near me
Think_Money_6919@reddit
Upon further research it does seem like they sell one at select locations but it must be a tiny amount because there’s hardly documentation of it online and I’ve never actually seen this offer at any M&S I’ve been to personally
pepesilvia000@reddit
Every M&S food I’ve been to (and I’ve been to plenty of stand-alone supermarket sized ones plus ones in hospitals and train stations), has had the meal deals. There’s an entire subreddit about meal deals and the M&S one gets posted there all the time.
This is definitely a you thing.
Think_Money_6919@reddit
Other people have upvoted my comment so it’s clearly not just a me thing. But I was curious about this earlier and apparently it’s only offered at train station locations or BP petrol stations.
Maybe you’re getting confused with their other meal deals like the dine-in or ready meal one?
pepesilvia000@reddit
I assure you - I work in a hospital with an M&S food on-site, and they have the meal deal. There’s big M&S in the centre of Manchester also has the “normal” meal deal in their food section. Whatever you are reading is wrong or out-of-date.
Think_Money_6919@reddit
Will have to take a look at the ones around me again as it’s been a while, but definitely haven’t seen signage for it in my local one. I know the one in Birmingham airport doesn’t do it as the one I got from there recently didn’t come with a discount
GrandDuty3792@reddit
Don’t argue with an idiot
GrandDuty3792@reddit
You mean upon actually checking if you were wrong before being a prick
Think_Money_6919@reddit
Only person being a prick here is you mate. Who shit in your tea today?
Dazz316@reddit
The difference in quality of markies is barely anything now. I used to love their prawn sandwiches but they've fallen a little and the supermarkets have closed the hall
becjac86@reddit
Agree, their Xmas sandwiches were 10/10

Co op for several reasons
It has the lowest rate of mealdealflation. £3.50 in 2016 to £3.75 in 2026.
Quality of ingredients and support for British farmers. You will notice all chicken in Tesco’s wraps is imported from THAILAND. Co op is all British, prioritising local supply chains, and the company spends close to £1bn per year supporting British farmers. Also their chicken ceasar wrap tastes way better than Tesco’s.
Co op app can discount your meal deal to £2.75 once per week. They always have 50p off a brand/category of snack (eg any pastry/pie) and 50p off a drink (eg any milk drink or any vit but brand drink). You can redeem two of these offers per week and stack them onto a meal deal to take £1 off.
Good mix of interesting things. You can get a hot Costa drink, and also a hot pastry snack. I like the nomadic pots since they have the same amount of granola as a granola bar, plus the yoghurt. They also have good protein snacks like eggs, and chicken that isn’t just fridge raiders. You can also buy small curries in a naan bread as your main that you can heat in the microwave.
The only drawback is, there’s not as much choice as somewhere like Tesco and no triple sandwiches. I do miss the Tesco sundried tomato and pesto chicken wrap sometimes.
yolo_snail@reddit
Morrisons, without a doubt.
Cram a salad bar pot full of pasta to the brim, get a Costa coffee and a Cornish pasty for £3.70
Spadders87@reddit
Yeh agree with this, though would tweak the drink to a large red bull or lucozade sport and the pasty for a nomadic yoghurt. Pretty sure it cant be beat for £3.75.
yolo_snail@reddit
Well, tbh I don't actually like a cornish pasty, but the pasta is filling enough to not need a side, so I just give the pasty to someone else. I only get it as it's the biggest side!
If I were to choose the side for me, I'd go with one of the nomadic oat pot things.
I'm not a red bull person, if I were to go for an energy drink, I'd be going for a Monster Pipeline Punch, but they're not kept in the meal deal section at my local Morrisons and I'm not traipsing down to the pop aisle to get one.
FrogfFrogger@reddit
I was just going to say this … for an extra pound u can get a monster with ur meal (I can be into at times ) … and yeah u have all the sandwiches , wraps , ready made salads … but yeah going to the salad bar is a winner with all the options that they have, I’ve cramped my medium pot 😂
lbwtpitt@reddit
Their made in store sarnies are good too!
iloovehugecock@reddit
Tesco for me. I like the variety of sandwiches and they switch it up more regularly than any of the others. I don’t think Sainsburys has updated their sandwich selection in about 15 years.
Obvious-Water569@reddit
Big Tesco.
Those special edition wraps are banging.
spynie55@reddit
I always thought they were a bit of a scam- things were massively overpriced individually so that the ‘deal’ looked better than it really was.
SmallGirlBigDreams32@reddit
Boots have a cracking selection!
Obvious-Water569@reddit
Agreed, but not a supermarket.
mokosmam@reddit
Morrisons everytime. The quality of morrisons food is way better than Tesco, asda, co-op, one-stop. The only one with similar quality is M&S but its 3 X the price.
PagodNaAkoooo@reddit
Tesco is the undisputed king if you have a Clubcard. For £3.40 (Clubcard price), you get the biggest selection of mains, snacks, and drinks. The Triple Chicken sandwich is legendary.
jwrider98@reddit
It's £3.85 with Clubcard now
MattOG81@reddit
Quality: M&S Quantity: Morrisons salad bar
Icy-Astronomer-8202@reddit
Morrisons. The salad bar is fab
im-quite-stupid@reddit
Morrisons is my fave with the pick your own salad bars 🤩
