The overt racism is covering up an actual legit problem. The racism is real and is ugly and needs to stop, point blank.
That being said, the Indians are not bad people, but they are actively choosing to isolate themselves from others. My neighborhood has a significant Indian population and many won't speak to you or acknowledge your existence if they see you on the street. It took almost a year to get my next door neighbor to speak to me and he still doesn't speak to my wife almost 3 years later. We've probably said about 100 words to each other today in that time lol. Their kids lose balls in our yard all the time but they never ask for them back. Another neighbor immediately goes inside if he sees us in the front yard. I'm DEFINITELY NOT the chatty type, but it's just common courtesy to say hello or wave when you make eye contact with someone 15 feet away from you.
The men will go out of their way to not look at or speak to women. We've seen so many instances and it's a bit unsettling. My wife watched 3 older men approach another woman once and they stood sideways while they spoke to ensure there was no eye contact.
When electing our HOA board, they had enough write in votes to elect a president who never put his name on the ballot or followed any of the rules to be elected. Despite pushback, he was allowed to take the role and once he got the position he never showed up to meetings or participated in any way.
A black family on my street (they've recently moved away) had a 13 yr old son and the other kids would never talk to or play with him even though he was regularly outside on his bike trying to make friends. The kids all seem pretty nice but clearly their parents are telling them who they can interact with.
My wife and I are also black so it's possible that we've been on the receiving end of their racism, but it's hard to tell. The white families we've spoken to have had similar experiences so we don't think that's the issue. Another black family we know out in McKinney have mentioned experiencing similar problems.
I'm not sure what a solution would be, but I don't want the ugliest voices to be so loud that regular people tune everything out. I know things aren't going to be the same as when I was growing up in the 90s but you expect there to be some minimal level of community within a neighborhood.
See, when you say it, you're not racist. But when other people point it out, that's when they're called racist.
The vast majority of Indians do not have a culture that can mix with America, and the more that are imported, the less likelihood of naturalization.
I say until we get our economy and infrastructure fixed, we cancel all H1Bs and send people back to their own countries where they can enjoy their own culture in their way. We have American companies hire Americans, we figure out how to improve wages and benefits without simply mandating them, and we fix the issues with infrastructure and healthcare.

You can do that, and the countries will close door to American companies. Considering the stagnant economies of Europe and other continents. The only growth seems to be coming from China, India and other parts of Asia. They keep access to their market open for american companies but want their people to be able to immigrate to the US. You close that, they close the access. Can't have it both ways.
No corporation in its right mind is going to voluntarily "improve wages and benefits." They have shareholders they have to answer to and shareholders only care about profits. We are literally in this mess because of corporate greed and billionaire donors (a non-partisan issue).
Do you see the mess we're in? It's because of corporate interest. And corporations will continue to bring in migrant workers because they can pay them less to maximize profits.
Believing that corporations would willingly lose profit to help the common people is ignoring at least 2000+ years of written human history.
Hmm, I live in a fairly diverse part of Las Colinas and work in tech. I have spoken to a lot of my Indian neighbors and have even been invited to celebrations at their homes and sometimes go on walks with an older gentleman that walks around the same time. I also absolutely love all the cultural and culinary diversity they bring. I love when stuff is decorated for diwali and can throw down on channa masala and other dishes I have come to love. I have made a lot of friends with my asian coworkers and they tend to be very professional and pleasant to work with… I have literally worked with hundreds over my career.
Nevertheless, I recognize that most people, regardless of culture, just want to be left alone and don’t want to be bothered in public. I have also lived internationally and know that not all cultures are as outgoing as Americans. Still, with the right attitude and social skills it isn’t that hard to make connections.
One thing I would like to add as someone who works in trades I have been treated like absolute trash by indians. I’m not going to be racist, but if an entire group of people is willing to treat me as subhuman and lack basic respect It’s hard for me to come to their defense. They as a group seem to want all the benefits of being an american while not actually wanting to join our society, conform to our moral values or social norms.

No it doesn't. Treating everyone you come across as the enemy is no way to live. If you meet someone and they show themselves to be an ass then by all means treat them how you want, but everyone deserves a chance to be treated with respect and kindness.
fear mongering over a place you’ve never bean over one article that presents an issue in a way you don’t like gets you used asa scared pawn in someone else scheme
I've been to Frisco. I live in DFW. What are you on about? Everyone knows what's going on over. I'm glad you kept Patriot Mobile off your school board, but this burst of racism started with them. Who's being used as a scared pawn in someone else's scheme?
Working with them is just as awful. Being a woman in tech was actually getting better for a while. Not anymore. People don’t want to have the conversation about Indian men and their workplace racism and sexism.
This comment is weird. Maybe fix the racism and then this people we’ll fix it self. You say the racism is covering up and “actual problem”. I think the racism is a problem lol you can’t ignore one thing and say the actual problem is people aren’t friendly to me and my wife. Yall are weird
Almost the same exact story here, but I’m white and outside of Frisco. Probably 40-50% Indian neighborhood and a significant portion of the neighbors do not acknowledge my spouse.
I am Asian, originally from NYC, and grew up with Indian neighbors. I moved out of Frisco after 16 years last year and still have family in Frisco. Unless you have lived in Frisco near the Indian temple or had your kids go to school with kids of “Recent Indian Immigrants” be they H1B or E2 or EB5 or whatever you do NOT understand what is going on here. The immigration numbers are incorrect. It’s not only the H1B’s that are coming directly to Texas, it’s also H1 bees that were originally accepted into other states that have since moved to Texas, but on paper they still show them working in Virginia, Georgia, California, etc.
The influx of Indians here in North Texas are fresh out the village Indians with no civic sense, an attitude of entitlement and zero courtesy. They are aggressive, rude, and do not want to assimilate. My kids were told by Indian kids in school that “We are not allowed to play with you because you are not Indian”. None of my Indian neighbors had a conversation with me in 10+ years. I have Senior Citizens strolling my neighborhood wearing white diapers and a wife beater (no exaggeration). Go see Costco in Frisco on the weekend with grown men smelling like onions, cracked feet in flip flops cutting off old ladies and taking 6 samples at a time from the sample lady lol. It is WILD. The ambiance is not that of a diverse American neighborhood; the word “Takeover” is accurate. These are not the typical Indian immigrants I grew up with. My Indian friend call them 1st generation South Indian FOBs (Fresh of the Boat). They are advertising Frisco and Dallas in newspapers in India. IT IS A TAKEOVER. Anyone that says otherwise is being disingenuous. It’s sad that anyone that calls it out is then being accused of being racist or biased. Sorry, but when you change the entire character of an area so drastically and so quickly without any regard for customs or norms of the area, of course people are going to complain, especially if it is being done through unethical means.
Costco in Frisco is wild. The amount of people who disregard basic politeness is astounding. Prepare to watch people pretend lines don't exist and keep your head on a swivel as children run right in front of your cart. If you try to confront someone about them cutting in line on front of you, they will pretend not to hear you. It's insane. I feel bad for the employees who have to sit there and enforce queues.

Their lack of assimilation and respecting their new home’s cultures/patterns is not just an American thing— people in Japan and Canada also complain about Indians doing the same thing there by being rude and not wanting to interact with non-Indians
I have some neighbors that also don’t seem to want to let their kids interact with non-Indians, and refuse to listen to anyone else when they’re told that their kids can’t play on someone else’s lawn or in the street :/

Preach, I have consistently criticized indian culture in the us having dealt with them a lot working in trades. I am fine with immigrants, and have found that second generation indians treat me completely differently, but it’s hard for me to have any respect for a culture that has treated me so poorly while I was genuine and polite to them
You're blind because you cover your eyes and deaf because you plug your ears. Just because you refuse to acknowledge what's in front of you doesn't mean it isn't still happening.
Love hearing people complain about h1b visa holders taking their jobs when they barely graduated from their associates program. I also love to rub the fact that their chief leader Elon was here on an h1b.
Before the left in America was bought and paid for by corporate interests, it wasn't.
The original socialists, unionists, and liberals who fought and died to give us the rights we have today were staunchly against mass immigration. Not out of racism, but because they explicitly understood that it was a tool to devalue their labor, divide their power, and replace them with an easily controlled vulnerable underclass.
lol spoken like a true failure who places the blame on everyone but yourself. This country was FOUNDED on mass immigration. “Bring me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free.” It wasn’t founded as white settlement. It wasn’t founded based on race. NOWHERE in our constitution did it ever state that this is a country for white men. Hell, Texas used to be MEXICO! And you think the WHITE race has a claim to it? 🙄

The difference between you and me is that you look at immigrants and wonder how they’re so much better off than you. I look at immigrants and wonder what I can learn about their culture. You blame immigrants for the failures in your own life, when your disillusionment should be pointed inward.
That is a strange, self-righteous argument that is based off your assumptions of me— not facts.
It’s basic economics and common sense, and you conveniently did not respond to my question asking for statistics. Corporations use foreigners because their labor is cheaper, period
Agreed. You can complain about and even hate the system but you don't have to be a bigot about that.
That being said, I doubt how many people are aware of how many non-Indian immigrants have extremely racist attitudes against Indians in the DFW area (and Canada and probably most places)
My company is like 80% Indian and half of them hate the other half based on what region they’re from - and I’m like oh that’s how I know you’re just like us!
As an immigrant, some liberals give the U.S too much shit for being a racist country. Racism definitely exists and is problematic but it's so much prevalent and arguably worse in the rest of the world.
As a Texan who lives abroad, can confirm.
At my first immigration office visit, the employee processed my paperwork stated how he liked to visit Texas and Louisiana, but that there were too many “N” there.
My mouth was agape & I had to keep silent as AIOAB. (All immigration officers are bastards)
I would argue this is the least racist time in this country. You just see racism more often cause every bigoted person that exist has the ability to share their opinion.
Plus I never claimed racism doesn't exist. I'm arguing the U.S is way less racist than other parts of the world.
Also if you're going to assume my experience, I've spent most of my life here. The only racism I really experienced was in high school but I've never ever experienced racism outside of that. Although I am a lighter skin tone so that probably helps
Odd to hate MAGA when one of the biggest arguments of MAGA is the dismantling of the H1B system due to its abuse by foreigners and American corporations.
I’m against people like Melania being granted an H1B visa by abusing the system, not on the Indians without any power or access being granted a visa to fill a role that Americans couldn’t. You’re literally talking about two entirely different things. There isn’t any evidence that the H1B visa holders in Frisco abused any system. I’m not sure how the two even compare.
Are you some sort of H1B shill or something? There’s never a good excuse to hire CHEAP foreign labor over domestic workers, ever unless you’re a billionaire.
You seem to be anti conservative but are championing a system loophole used extensively by Trump, Musk and all the other tech billionaires.
But who should we be mad at, user PostAnalFrostedTurds? The corporations laying off American citizens in favor of H1Bs they can exploit or the H1Bs who are being exploited?

Yeah there are plenty of bachelors and masters graduates in the IT field getting onto the hate bandwagon. Further plenty of them also despise Elon.
Your hateful comment is almost as bad as those criticizing all Indians as rude, smelly etc. clearly there are subsets of all peoples.
They’re filling the need for highly educated, highly skilled jobs that American citizens couldn’t fill. You’re putting the blame on the visa holder for filling a need instead of on Americans for not being able meet it. How are the visa holders to blame? They didn’t create the need. They’re literally merely filling it.
Nobody’s blaming a visa holder, they’re blaming companies that lay off American workers and hire h1b in the same exact roles which has been happening in waves since 2024. Look up Meta, Amazon, and Microsoft. They are by far the worst offenders and they’re the same companies who kissed the ass of DJT leading up to his election.
These are well documented problems that are plaguing the tech sector while the companies blame AI for the layoffs and quietly replace with h1b and, much more commonly, offshore talent.
The billionaire class would love for us to think it’s Americans versus immigrants, would love for us to blame the visa holders. They’d love for everyone to say it’s nothing but racism to complain. All of this would distract us from the fact that it’s the billionaires once again leeching more wealth from the lower classes.
I’m inclined to disagree due to the amount of recent college grads without jobs. I know people with accounting degrees having trouble due to outsourcing. Refusing to invest in American citizens hurts all Americans for short term profitability, not just white people.
Unpopular opinion but a recent college grad isn't particularly skilled at anything besides taking tests these days. Companies are under pressure to produce instantly, meaning they only want senior talent. There's capacity to learn in recent grads but it'll be at least 6 months to a year before they're able to meaningfully contribute to a project, that's too long for a manager who needs to show how valuable their team is right now in order to make VP next year.
reserve army of labor and closed borders is marxist philosophy. the right historically advocated for open borders because of cheap labor and free trade.
They’re not competing with H1B visa holders for jobs. It is completely insane to me that they don’t have the intellect to realize that their own mediocre existence has nothing to do with the people who came here as highly skilled, highly educated workers to fill the need for roles that white Americans couldn’t do. I have never once looked at a minority and wondered how they afford their lifestyle.
Call it what you wanna call it. But the fact is that these big tech companies are hiring H1Bs from India not because of their skills. But because they can under pay them, make them work 20 hours a day, and if they complain they ship them back home to India. They can’t unionize and are basically indentured servants. Recent US graduates don’t even get a chance to compete. This isn’t about race, it’s about corporate greed and American citizens getting axed in the process.
Almost 50% of our GDP in 2025 was tech growth, yet Comp. Sci. is in the top 5 most unemployed degrees domestically.
The same week Microsoft lays off 9,000 workers it applies for 6,400 H1-B visas.
Anyone who is supporting this is willfully ignorant and parroting culture war talking points meant to keep us divided and distracted from the open destruction of the American middle class.
I will say as a someone who works in the trades I have developed a pretty nasty view of indian culture in the us. They treat us as subhuman. I will not be racist by I am 100% ok at this point with criticizing the entitled wealthy indian culture I have come across that treat me like absolute trash. At some point when a group of people treat you like trash and lack basic respect it makes you lose respect for the culture if they act that way.

At my previous job a “high caste” Indian coworker treated a “low caste” coworker like shit daily. At one point he even slapped him and said he deserves to have someone piss in his face. That high caste guy ended up getting chewed out harder than I’ve ever seen done by a boss. Our boss literally had him crying as he was walking out of the building.
I’ve often wondered whether the caste system plays a role in their behavior. I’m only theorizing but I imagine me being a carpenter is possibly viewed as a lesser person as in india someone like me would be low caste
Okay? Nobody said it did? How is maybe one or two racists Reddit comments from anonymous idiots relevant at all to the larger issue here?
Do you not see how you're just engaging in the culture war here, completely unprovoked, instead of focusing on what's actually happening to your country and class? You're exactly what I was talking about in the comment you replied to.
It does detract though. If this is a real concern, then people need to talk about that rather than “ew stinky Indians are ruining the city”. No one will take this seriously if that’s the argument against the H1B visa workers.

Actually, it is a very serious situation- and before you say it is racist, please research this-
In Canada- it is a huge issue. South asians have fraudulently abused the Canadian immigration pathways for over a decade now, to the point that every pharmacy, bank, dental/medical office, all our airport security, and trades - especially trucking, all fast food- all food delivery- all amazon - grocery, security companies- all -are enploying south indian.
Yes, big corps are okay with this-, but- do not be fooled- even small businesses are now, and many if not all smaller franchises here are being bought by South Asians through an immigration 'pathway' that gives citizenship to those who purchase a small business (this exists in the US as well).
It is impossible for anyone to get a job here in all the above employment streams after only 10 years of this loophole immigration.
Note- my point here is that all levels - be it tech, or entry level, have been overwhelmed in Canada.
Hiring managers, if South Asian (in big corps, pharmacy, banks, many of them are now), they only- hire south asian- if you are not south asian you cannot get a job.
As for racism, and abusing immigrants, the people perpetrating wage abuse, wage fraud etc are predominantly south asian as well. It is all documented, in the news.
You guys in the US, if you need to see how this can transform the workforce, just casually search for articles, etc in Canada- we are a case study.
Don't forget to also research "Brampton" and surge in fraudulent and criminal activity- here in Canada either.
It doesn’t but the poor and ignorant don’t understand what’s going on and that is really the only way they know how to react. It’s like a hyena that chews its own injured leg off because it knows the leg is hurting it. It only knows to attack.
This. The simple solution is that you “lose” H1B sponsorships equal to your layoffs on the last fiscal year, and the number rolls from year to year. That would probably need to be a loss of tax benefits somehow, but it needs to be tied together to prevent “on-shoring.”
Anyone blaming this on the visa holders and not Gates, Bezos, and Musk, etc, is willfully ignorant. You can hate them right out of town, and the billionaire class will bring more visa holders right back in, because they don't want to pay you, and they want leverage to exploit workers.
I can blame both. Indians are notorious for lying and cheating to get hired through H1B. They also use nepotism and any and all loopholes to get as many Indians in as possible. There are H1B farms run by Indians made to get as many Indian applicants into the country as possible. It's disgusting that those actions have gone unpunished for as long as they have.

Agreed. It also ironically affects Indians; there’s a quota cap for how many people of a nationality a year can obtain a green card per year.
That means it’s pretty much impossible for Indians compared to other nationalities to obtain a green card
Yep, fully agree that Gates, Bezos, Musk, and most of the big tech CEOs, Board of Directors, etc should be facing criminal penalities for illegally exploiting visa holders. Very disgusting indeed.
Then why do they live 8 in a house like railroad workers?
H1b is a scam. So is h2b. We dont need outside labor for these jobs, the companies just want cheap workers they can abuse.
I think you’re touching on a valid point, but the Indian Americans moving to million dollar homes in Frisco aren’t this class. They’re middle management types and probably have been here decades, if they weren’t born here.
H1B processes and numbers DOES need reform, but attacking current beneficiaries serves no one but the hard Right racists.
For the record, companies are legally required to compensate H1Bs on the same level as domestic hires. A worker on an H1B tends to actually be more expensive than a domestic hire.
If the majority of the hires are paid the same wage then the domestic workers getting more are the outliers and it’s “not discrimination.”
Legal loopholes.
Another example of not knowing what people are talking about. Companies are legally not allowed to have more than a certain percentage of their workforce on H1B. “Majority of hires” lol.
The real problem isn’t hiring. It’s hiring “contractors.” From personal experience: places like American, Southwest, Toyota have 1 employee for every 6-8 contractors. “Body shops”, I call them. And there’s a LOT of visa abuse there; and I’m 100% in favor of cutting down on that abuse. But there’s no need to spout falsehoods about how the program itself is legally structured.
I was not clear enough in my post. I apologize for that.
In my line of work I deal with contractors. Daily. More than once I’ve been to a company that is either majority first generation Indian or is entirely Indian owned and operated in the US. Many of the higher ups that come here on visas are then sponsored to permanent resident or citizenship. The nepotism and caste system issues other people have pointed out is very true. That’s more what I was pointing out.
If you have a small or medium sized company the percentages will be more skewed. People will accept lower wages to stay in the US. If the option was to go back to a country you wanted to leave or stay here, which would you pick?
I have zero issue with Indians as a whole immigrating to the states. I do wish to see more integration. I also acknowledge that will take time. The insular communities (of any race, religion, or culture to be clear) are an issue I’ve seen firsthand.
Say that’s what was happening in practice. Would someone born and raised in India or someone born and raised in Lake Highlands be more willing to work 60, 70 hours a week for $20/hr? Set the “domestic hire” salary low enough and you’ll still find a few domestic hires who are willing to work for it, but you’ll find plenty abroad. Keep salaries low enough, and all you’ll find are workers from abroad willing to work for it.
And it's also bafflingly easy for companies to get around that requirement.
1. Post job listing online with insane requirements and low pay
2. Nobody applies
3. Even if someone does you can just say they're not a good fit
4. You can now legally say you couldn't find a domestic fit and need an H1-B
Have you not noticed how 90% of all job listings online are obvious copy pasted fakes? This is why.
Plus how even a bachelor’s degree for people born in the US is a luxury item now. We had to import people with those degrees from other countries, because we made it unaffordable for ourselves. It’s not because Americans aren’t smart enough to get those degrees, but it costs as much as a house.
No, read through the comments here. A CS degree is in the top 5 most unemployed.
People are getting degrees and not finding jobs.
So so so many people are getting degrees daily.
Its not about people not getting them, its about the greed. People can save a ton of money underpaying 6000 Indian employees vs market pay for 4000 American.
It is cherry picking when the thing you’re complaining about (the visa) has been around for 2-3 decades, but CS employment was sky high for those same decades. You don’t have correlation nor causation here. The cause of CS unemployment is the economy getting tanked by your overlords in power.
I’m sorry, is the H1B a recent phenomenon? Has CS degree been a “top 10 unemployed” for decades now?
The problem with arguments like this is always that people say “they’re taking our jerbs!” without talking about how the entire f***ing Silicon Valley and tech industry beingbeing heavily dependent on immigrants. Yes there’s abuse in the H1 program, but that’s not the root cause of your current unemployment problems. For that, you gotta look closer to home - closer to the 2024 elections.
That's not at all what's happened. We made it too easy for companies and Indians to abuse the system to enter America to take jobs for significantly lower pay. That's why companies can have record breaking profit while constantly underpaying staff. Because they have H1Bs to fall back on and use like chattel. The whole system needs to end and Americans need to be hired by American companies first and foremost.
partially true, the USA does not have the skilled labor force for this. Even if all the grads you mentioned got entry level coding jobs it would not be enough. But yes, this is corporate greed and it’s been a longtime coming. The education system in the US has been under attack for the last half-century.
It is also certainly about race. When you have folks calling for mass deportations, that’s not really a solution to corporations exploiting people, it’s just violence directed at immigrants.
That’s not what’s happening in Frisco lol. These are highly educated, highly skilled workers who out-earn their unskilled, white American counterparts.
There are many with masters’ degrees, however, the usual pathway is to get an undergraduate degree in India then apply to whichever tier grad school in the US. The focus is on tech so frequently don’t have a more well rounded liberal arts education as is required by US colleges.
The bigger issue is the cultural nepotism and preference to hire someone who loos and sounds like them. There is usually a strong preference to hire from the same city or region of India. And, yes, if they are constrained by a visa, it’s only human nature that they will be easier to manipulate by the companies that control their visa sponsorship. Americans that come to reasonably expect any work-life balance will not compete with a visa holder that feels like they have to work 12-16 hours a day to keep their job. In a recent layoff, the only Indians who were impacted were the ones who had already naturalized, not necessarily the ones who were doing redundant work.
Agreed. Big tech and corporate conservatives are deliberately playing into this too. Making South asian people into the bogeyman, by using them to undercut American hires significantly. But the real worry isn’t the h1b program, it’s offshoring.
Companies would much rather build a giant campus in Hyderabad, pay them 90K usd, instead of 140K and an h1b, and keep them in Hyderabad.
The toughest issues are when real complaints about shitty behavior are being mixed with blatant racism. For example, we should be calling out Zionism in Israel, but the alt right are highjacking it to spread racism. It’s another part of the rights culture war to flood the zone.
I work with Indians. They're some of the greatest people I've met. I think, rather than having a remotely valid opinion here, you might actually just be a piece of shit who is incapable of getting along with others.

Model Minority? Have you had to interact with many indians, especially if you work with your hand and they see you as less than them?
It’s not a race thing I have met some very nice respectful second generation indians, but it’s hard for me to come away with anything other than a very negative view of their culture when interacting with first generation. I work in trades and they are rude, entitled, treat us as less than them, and will exploit or manipulate anyone to save a dollar. I would be fine with then if they wanted to assimilate to our moral values and culture to some extent like virtually every other immigrant does and as I would if I could afford to leave the us

> they are rude, entitled, treat us as less than them, and will exploit or manipulate anyone to save a dollar
Wait until you meet some conservative white Americans in the workplace. They are rude, entitled, treat us as less than them, and will exploit or manipulate anyone to save a dollar.
They constantly condescend to people who don’t look or act like them. They promote their golf buddies over their competent workers. They look for any reason to cut staff to save a nickel.
They make scam companies like Enron and FTX and Amway and Truth Social. They love scamming so much that they regularly crash the economy with their schemes.
They’ll also say super racist shit on the reg, like “I have met some very nice respectful second generation indians, but it’s hard for me to come away with anything other than a very negative view of their culture when interacting with first generation.”
"model"
Yeah, a model of filth and rudeness. I'm sick and tired of having to hold by breath in elevators because quite a large portion of Indians don't know how to use deodorant.

Lmao if you're counting credentials then absolutely, richest ethnic, least crime, highest % of masters. The things you associate with East Asians but better than them. But since East Asians are more lighter and Indians are not, this coping way is used to segregate them lmaoooo.
Lmfao yup “model” of fucking it up for every other peoples that want to come here bc now we gotta hear from the racist boomer next door because “they don’t assimilate”.
Also, ever been out to a club in Dallas on FRI or SAT night? Go take a look at a few of the hot spots in deep Ellum. You’d be shocked at the behavior you’d witness.
Has nothing to do with race. Everything to do with culture. Indian culture ain’t it (and everyone currently living in India agrees).
lol they’re not stealing anything. They’re being handed it by a corporation usually led by a wire person but you’re too stupid or cowardly to bring it up with them

"Stealing"? Isn't this more of a corporation issue than an Indian or South Asian one? Corporations know Americans aren't going to work for cheap labor.
I think that argument holds less water when you find out about the highly questionable degree + visa pipelines Indians have set up to sell to the people back home.
gee if only we had some sort of policy that mandated a more diverse, equal, and inclusive workplace. something that prevents one demographic from dominating....
Erick, nobody is “stealing” your middle class job. They are lying to you. They want you to point at someone that looks different from you so you don’t think about those who actually could provide more jobs for you.
I’m going to assume you’re a citizen here…if you were not, you would know more about the loopholes one has to jump as an immigrant or resident alien to get a middle class job in the US.
It really is crazy. Like I don't bat an eye, even at work, and I work at a place where I have seen every kind of person under the sun. But I hear grievances all the time from family, coworkers, media, etc.
It's like people can't go without finding something or someone to hate and shake their finger at for more than a minute.
And they seem unaware of how they sound. Having a distaste for another race living where you live is…bigotry. That is part of how the fervor of anti-semitism led to Hitler and all of that
The way people freak out here when they see brown people expressing their culture here when majority of Texas is hispanic anyway is bonkers to me. Texas will never be fully white, so accept others cultures.
I think the fact that you mention how texans do not have the same issues with hispanics proves your point. There are major issues with first generation indian culture and we are well within are right to criticize that without being labeled racist. If you ever had to work in the trades for indians you would change your view of their culture. It’s not just white people hating them other cultures, immigrants and races have issues with how their culture behaves at large

I believe thats also called failing to assimilate. Which I also don’t agree that people always do, you can retain your culture by also assimilating to the one you’re moving. I think it can be a mix of both.
I can’t say much personally because I do know good Indian people, the only one with beliefs I met I didn’t like was from New York.
I mean let’s not act like Frisco isn’t subject to immigration by Indians and Pakis at a level that other cities aren’t experiencing. It’s not racist to say that, it’s just true. And it’s also not racist to acknowledge that the Indians and Pakis that move into Frisco often refuse to assimilate, which causes problems. Immigration of all forms can be wonderful if the people moving in assimilate to the new culture. But as someone who grew up in Frisco for 18 years before moving off to college, it’s crazy to see how much worse the city has become. It’s stinky, there’s been an increase in (imo) nasty restaurants, and you can’t go to a store or walk around without feeling like you’re in a foreign country. If people don’t want that, they shouldn’t have to deal with it.

Just went to BigDash yesterday, love their dessert. I go to Frisco almost every week, love the food diversity there. If you don’t like it , you can move to Denton, not much change over there.
That’s fair, some people really like Indian food. I know it’s certainly not for everyone tho and most people I know despise the strong smells associated with the food and culture.

It’s most people in Frisco that feel that way, and *spoiler* most people in America and the world. People like to be around their own, why do you think the Indians and Pakis refuse to assimilate lmao. They don’t wanna feel like they’re in a foreign country, so they bring their country to them. It just so happens their country cultures have strong smells and borderline offensive habits

FWIW, if you’re wondering why people are interpreting your comment as racist, the language you’re using (“be around their own”) sounds eerily similar to pro-segregation talking points.
Why integrate and diversify when we could just have separate water fountains?
I once took a training class on culture and diplomacy for work. It was pretty mind opening when the instructor pointed out while a lot of cultural revulsion against Asian groups involves how “they” smell - that a significant chunk of the world find Americans “stinky” because of their heavy dairy-based diet, which is fairly uncommon in much of Asia. Most hate and intolerance is rooted in the inability to recognize and accept mutual difference.
My buddy worked for BNSF for 23 years in IT. They laid off his entire department in 23’. Then subsequently create a “new” subdivision of IT who did the exact same thing he used to do, but filled it with H1B workers at a fraction of the salary. The Mexican immigrants were never taking our jobs, but the Patels are.

blaming the workers but not the business owners proves that the ruling class has tapped in to your subconscious. it doesnt matter if its Patel or Rodriguez or Johnson, they will always exploit the working class and use race to manipulate you into fighting other workers.
BNSF made over $6 billion in profits in 2024, by the way.
People are always going to blame the most tangible target. Corporate overlords are out of reach to them but the sap they can see that actively replaced them is an easy target.

Yeah I work remotely and any time Frisco or even Plano gets pulled up it’s actually INSANE how many there are. I’ve worked in several different counties in several different states all across the US and it is largely disproportionate to any other. There was a point where not a single person I talked to WASN’T Indian or some type of Asian. It’s not racist to talk about it. 100% is a takeover

/r/Frisco is basically a Klan recruiting board at this point.
I’ve reported so much blatant white supremacist bigotry and neither the mods or admins do anything.
I’ve literally seen comments on that sub claiming that a majority of Indians are mentally handicapped, that they have a “different bone structure”(this is some old school racism”, and that their culture is just “inherently inferior”.
Stopping running cover for racists.
That subreddit has been a fucking disaster zone for years.
You know it’s bad when during a crippling winter storm there were still more posts complaining about Indians than posts about the storm
As a white woman, I’m embarrassed that white people think they have a claim to Frisco lol. It’s like they’re shocked to learn that Indians have better educations and jobs than they do. White residents are not competing with Indians for jobs. If they wanted higher incomes and better jobs, they should have done the work that Indians did to afford their lifestyle. I’ve never once looked at anyone else and wondered how they afford their lifestyle. It is complete bitterness and dissatisfaction with their own lives that leads these mediocre white people to turn to racism rather than look in the mirror.
People in here complaining that they work to undercut American jobs for $20/hr. Gtfoh. That ain’t how they are buying so many McMansions in the area.
Also, people can plaster them with all the racist stereotypes they want, but their children will be way more Americanized, and their grandchildren even more so.
The sour taste in their mouths for losing their job to any foreigner is actually their governments fault, they redirect their frustration at the other instead of those who can cut the stream of legal foreign labor with path to US residency.
Someone was complaining the other day - They are taking away the opportunities from their children to be on honors roll, dean list etc. Somehow Indians are scammers and on the honors list
I did not understand how bad it would be, my God. They're in there spouting genuine racism and hate, and any time someone points it out or disagrees they just double down or attempt to rationalize their hate. The people trying to call out the racism are also being downvoted.
This is a comment from that thread
>The modern Indian that is coming over doesn't have the critical thinking capability to function in western society. They're from a classist rigid society that places an emphasis only on status and money, these values are not compatible with the western world. The Indian has no intention to assimilate and be a net positive on the society around him, he's trained from birth to extract maximum resources from the society around him.
Genuinely wtf.
God damn, literally just had an assignment for one of my classes on this, how the United States was fundamentally constructed on capitalism. It's every man for themselves, unless that man (or woman or person) can assist you in your financial conquests. Then you milk that cow (society) fucking dry. Unfortunately, Frisco has had this mindset for as long as I can remember. I was a forced transplant, lived in Frisco around 2002ish? Not long after they opened Stonebriar, I had never experienced anything like that, the people like prided themselves on being pretentious fake rich assholes. Through the years I've had various coworkers and friends from India, they have a segment of the population, just the states, that are exactly like that. If they were white it wouldn't be an issue, because Frisco is working overtime to cover their racism.
"trained from birth to extract maximum resources from the society around him"
*looks at typical white Frisco resident*
*looks at camera Jim Halpert-style*
Well they still use a caste system, arranged marriages and don’t respect women. I’m not shottimg on them. There are plenty who are “Americanized.” But there many who don’t.
Right? We all know they're the champions of women's rights and choice. It's not like they'd ever track a woman crossing state lines because ours made it outright illegal or anything. [Oh wait...](https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/05/she-got-abortion-so-texas-cop-used-83000-cameras-track-her-down)
And would you look at that? [Punishing women for exercising their freedom of movement.](https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/10/flock-safety-and-texas-sheriff-claimed-license-plate-search-was-missing-person-it) Yup, the party of small government, freedom, and discrimination of anyone who is not a white, 'christian' man.
Arguments purporting such cultural stereotypes as "only in it for the money" and "they don't respect women" fall apart when you remember that these are core tenets of the current rulers of Texas and the US.
arranged marriages in the US = matchmaking basically
[https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/dating-apps-south-asians-arranged-marriage-rcna154392](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/dating-apps-south-asians-arranged-marriage-rcna154392)
This has been said in one fashion or another about every group that has immigrated, especially this part "...has no intention to assimilate and be a net positive on the society..."
> /r/Frisco is basically a Klan recruiting board at this point.
You need to understand that the Texas GOP has been playing the race card hard this election cycle, so pretty much any of the areas theyve been targetting are getting swarmed. Kaufman County is having a similar situation due to a series of batshit crazy Daily Caller articles too, although its Kaufman County so the crazies from elsewhere fit right in.
No joke, the Texas GOP is leaning hard into racism this election cycle. Its just starting, too.
Before I left tiktok, I followed a local realtor on there (Lacey Brutschy) that posted a video about the influx of people leaving the Prosper/north dallas area. The comments on her video were some of the most blatantly racist and disgusting thing I've ever seen. Made me realize how close to home all of these openly hateful people are to me. I reported so many posts and just got the canned "we didn't find anything resembling hate speech" in this comment...like okay, I guess it's okay to hate brown people for no reason on the internet? Pissed me off.
No! The realtor posted a response video to all of the racists, I think she might have also been surprised at how the racists crawled out of the woodwork in her comments. I really have never seen such a concentrated racist response to one post. So I'll avoid the frisco sub.
It’s overall just embarrassing that these mediocre white racists think they’re competing with these highly educated, successful minorities. Racism is nothing more than inward dissatisfaction with one’s own circumstances turned outward to a race that has nothing to do with their own failures.
If I recall, the mods for that subreddit have basically abandoned it. They pride themselves on a “hands-off” approach (I wish I could /s that but I can’t).
So true. I live in Mckinney but also joined the frisco subreddit for tidbits on restaurants, events, etc. After browsing it for a few minutes i left the subreddit. Horrible racism & rightwing cesspool.
Hopefully this serves as a reminder to those South Asian-Americans who shifted support to Trump (a sharp spike in support, 9% increase) that MAGA will still try to run you out of town for the colour of your skin, no matter who you vote for.
They don’t bother me but it’s not only frisco. There are so many in Plano, McKinney, Farmers Branch too.
And the only reason I bring this is up is because why is it always frisco so hell bent about this/them?
It’s shocking the people against the H1Bs, don’t realize who’s allowing them to flood our state illegally give you a hint it ain’t the liberals.
And it’s amazing the liberals defending the mass of H1Bs, all of a sudden corporate greed is ok? As long as thousands of immigrants get to live here I guess.
Republicans and Democrats are fans of H-1Bs and wanted to expand them. Trump is the only one who is slightly against them and even then he doesn’t really care it’s his staffers.
It’s insane class warfare 101, both liberal and conservative voters seem against it, but instead of being mad at the politicians who benefit from this. We blame each other and scream racist or libtard, it’s so sad.
Yep bc everyone wants to be a performative ideologue instead of a pragmatist. Now, being a “bigot” or a “racist” is no longer a matter of fact. Instead, it’s a matter of one’s ideology and social performance. Shame.
I've got quite a few Indian neighbors and friends, but let's all be very real... the way things have been going is hugely problematic. There are very legitimate issues that people are concerned about and simply dismissing them as racist is lazy.
> Immigration experts say these visas are critical, though. The United States simply does not have enough workers to fill jobs, particularly in science, math and engineering, said Laura Collins, director of the Bush Institute-SMU Economic Growth Initiative at the George W. Bush Institute.
> “If a company is taking the time to hire an H1-B worker,” Collins said, “there’s likely a compelling reason.”
What they are not saying in this is there is not enough US workers to fill jobs *at the salary the companies want to pay*.
[A good article that goes into the issues](https://www.propublica.org/article/trump-immigration-h1b-visas-perm-tech-jobs-recruitment)
… which is an indication that wages are not even close to keeping up with inflation in any meaningful way which can support the American way of life. Which is a fucking problem sgt.
It’s especially a problem when **American** companies led by **Americans** (or even worse, non-Americans) seek solutions which do nothing to help and only hurt **Americans**.
Our collective propensity as Americans to consume (indulge)——— and to feed the machine of consumption at all costs (greed)——— is killing us.
H-1B fraud is a federal issue. Either the people complaining are too stupid and don’t have a single fucking clue about how our government works, or they wanted to make it clear to our Indian peers that they aren’t welcome in Frisco. I’d bet on both. These are the idiots who watched some chick on TikTok encourage them to show up and complain.
Come on. Let’s be real. It isn’t about H-1B fraud. You even had a white trash lady speak at the end about how she has all of these new Indian neighbors and she sees so many Indian shops popping up in her area. Boo fucking hoo.
These asshats are the ones who laughed and shook their heads in a mocking manner as a young teenage boy mustered up the courage to speak at the podium. The fact that other Indian peers had to come up and prove their worthiness to live in Frisco was incredibly sad. One even said, “I’m also a republican” as if that would help. We have no authority to grant them approval.
I’ve never once had an issue with the increase in Indian people. My Indian neighbors are just as kind as anyone else. Sure, there are more Indian shoppers at Costco, and more Indian drivers on the roads with “student driver” stickers.
But a majority of the people complaining about H-1B fraud… let’s just say they’re not exactly the one whose jobs are being affected. For people who exclaimed others to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and called everyone snowflakes…
Also, the first person to complain proudly displayed confederate flags and backed up his argument by saying he’s a Christian man… why are we so unwelcoming and uncomfortable with Indians but have no disdain for racists guising their hatred as Christian love?
I live in Plano. I'm a leftist. I love Indian food. I've dated an Indian girl before. While there are definitely old school Texas racists who want to see all Indians go back to India, the actual "issue" isn't a problem with race. The problem is the culture clash. Stuff that's okay in India is NOT okay here, and their community is very closed to outsiders. I grew up in Plano, went to all Plano schools, and the Indian kids almost NEVER wanted to befriend or talk to anyone else who wasn't Indian. Not whites, asians, blacks, latinos, none of them. I have worked in retail, and many treat retail employees like servants, i've had that experience. It's because India uses a caste system, and the majority of Indians who come here on an H1B visa are from a higher caste, so they look down on people they consider lower class and treat them like shit to put it bluntly.
I absolutely love my Indian neighbors. And I’m not talking anyone specific, I’m in the thick of it here in Coppell. Universal Academy is down the street from me and I’m pretty sure 95%+ of that school’s hundreds of kids are Indian. It doesn’t bother me, Indian food is amazing, their values are amazing, they seem genuinely grateful for everything. As someone who grew up absolutely dirt poor, I think I can relate to a lot.
The article has a quote “If a company is taking the time to hire an H1-B worker,” Collins said, “there’s likely a compelling reason.” I’ve worked for Verizon, AT&T, and several other large corps in Irving, on teams where I’m the only non-Indian. And I can say with 100% certainty, the “reason” is because they can be taken advantage of, almost exclusively by other Indians. I don’t get it, decades I’ve been in IT, why do Indians treat other Indians like shit? They get paid like crap, made to work like dogs, yelled at. Honestly the worst part of working in a heavy Indian shop, knowing there’s a culture of abuse, I can’t really put it any other way.
It could be remnants of the Indian Caste system still being acted out. I’ve heard of hostilities/racism/colorism like this going on between Indian immigrants in the US because of caste (or being darker or from NE India or the South of India).
My main issue is when I walk my dogs on the sidewalk, there will be an entire family walking side by side 5 across taking up the whole sidewalk and then look terrified of my dogs when we get close but still not move and then look at me like I’m an asshole
I've run into this in several states and countries with Indian groups. We were on an Alaskan cruise and walking back to the port and after the third time of my family walking single file and still having to get off into the mud, I just started shouldering people who didn't have the decency to allow a single file lane on a 10' sidewalk.
That is everyone in America. Go up an escalator behind an old person regardless of race. They’re going to stop at the top and not notice you trying to get past them. It happens everywhere.
I get it, and there are some valid points about what's going on with our visa process. I have seen myself a company get turned over from American workers to Indian, where the Americans were asked to train the Indians on their way to the unemployment line.
But getting mad at the Indians will abolish nothing but a cultural war. Congressman should be feeling and getting this heat. They are the ones who can change our laws. Companies should be feeling this heat. They are the ones we can put out of business by refusing to do business with them. African Americans in Montgomery inconvenienced themselves by walking and carpooling to work to boycott the bus system. It took a year of doing this before the policy was ruled unconstitutional. Do we no longer have that level of discipline and resolve? Don't get mad at the bus drivers. Get mad at the bus company's policy.
HEY IDIOTS stop going after a race of people, look every race is good at doing something shitty
Indians are good scammers, whites are lazy and entitled, Mexican good at cooking fucking and killing, Korea good at population control
I mean I can keep going and blame each country for the fault of their people but people are people
YOU ARE ALL SHITTY FUCKS JUST LIKE ME
BUT JUST BECAUSE THATSA FACT!
it doesn’t we should forget who is really at fault here
THE RICH,AND BOTH THE REPUBLICANS AND THE DEMOCRATS
THE VERY PEOPLE WHO RUN THIS COUNTRY BOTH SIDES AND THE RICH
THEY WANT TO CONTROL YOU
THEH CONSIDER YOU BENEATH THEM
I ASK MYSELF DAILY
ARE WE READY AND WILLING TO LET THIS ALL HAPPEN AND NOT FIGHT FOR US AS A COUNTRY TOGETHER UNITED
IN DESTROYING THE RICH AND POWERFUL
Tbh one of the benefits of this country is that it is extremely diverse and you can live in any type of neighborhood you want.
There exists white neighborhoods, black neighborhoods, Indian neighborhoods, etc.
If you don’t like your neighborhood, you can always move.
There are legitimate concerns about fraud in the H1B visa program, lack of civic sense and poor behavior but outright racism should be called out and rejected. There are positives that the new Indian immigrants bring. They’re well educated, have strong family values and the Indian American population punches well above its weight in contributing to the national GDP. It will take time to assimilate. There are some things I agree with the “right” about such as a common official language, English, and other things I don’t. I miss the days when civil discourse was possible to discuss concerns without being called a racist or antifi.
For those who didn’t take the time to actually read the article, it contains a factual analysis of the unproven H1B claims that many are making in the comments
>That meeting plunged Frisco — an affluent Collin County suburb known for high-ranking schools and a thriving business climate — into the precarious national battleground over race, identity, immigration and opportunity.
Let's remind those people that reason Frisco became a "suburb known for high-ranking schools and a thriving business climate" is because of those Indians and other South East Asians.
It’s almost as if white residents think they have a claim to this average, boring suburb. They’re shocked to learn that Indians are more educated and have better jobs and income than they do. What do they even MEAN “how do they afford these luxury houses?” With the same money and success that seems to have avoided you your entire life.
Man, I worked with Marc Palasciano (*mentioned in the article for those that read it*) for years at T-Mobile, and it’s disheartening to see how radical he has become. He became extremely angry when he was skipped over for high ranking roles and then began spiraling out of control about conspiracy theories about C-Level leadership. The attention he got from being the leader of what I called “T-Anon”, led to him taking part in nonsense like this. He truly was, at one point, a very lighthearted, jovial, and warmhearted person. I hope he can find his internal light again before it’s too late.
