I’ve owned a 93 240sx, 95 240sx, 99 civic hatch, 2002 Toyota celica, 2 Lexus is300s, a 93 Foxbody mustang, a 95 Toyota supra, 1986 Corolla hatch, a 2013 Hyundai genesis r spec, a 2008 Lexus is350, I’m sure I’m missing some I can’t remember.
The funnest one to me was probably the 95 240. Wasn’t fast but enjoyed how it would just kick out sideways at any time and trying to wrangle it in. I’m hoping the 86 Corolla will follow suit in that and take the 240s place but I’m still restoring it
Ive regretted selling every car I’ve had lol. That won’t change. Unfortunately I don’t have space for a second car. And I’d rather have something new at this point. With a warranty. Not feasible for me to work on the hatchback because it’s my daily , rather get rid of it before the issues get too bad
I am old AF so to list ALL my cars would be to much, but I am glad you asked this question I was thinking of this just the other day.
Currently we have a Ferrari F430, Lamborghini Huracan, Porsche Cheyenne S, VW Jetta GLI, and a Focus ST.
I raced cars for a bit, from Porsche's to Datsun/Nissans to F2000.
I have had various Porsche's including a 930 turbo.
Muscle cars and well lots of stuff.
The car that puts a smile on my face every time I get in it is the Focus ST. The car is conundrum. It should not be as fast as it is, it should not handle as well as it does, drive as well as it does. For a cheap economy car, it is just fun. Ever so often cars surprise me like Contour SVT or early 90's Sentra SER. We've had the Focus since 2014 and it is not going anywhere because nobody else makes anything like it.
Yep. I have a Focus ST, a Gen 2 Viper, and a GT500 and my wife doesn’t understand why I won’t sell the ST. It’s just such a joy to drive and it’s worth way more keeping it than what it would sell for. If you know, you know…
1988 bmw m3. Light, great suspension, and brakes.
2nd place. 2005 Volvo v70R manual with a stage 2 tune and updated suspension. My sleeper car cause nobody expects a wagon to be quick.
My current car, a 2010 Mazda Miata PRHT Grand Touring w/ suspension package & LSD, is the most fun car I've had so far. Previous cars were:
1987 Nissan 200SX SE V6 manual
1993 Saturn SC2 manual
1992 Nissan 240SX SE Coupre auto
1998 Nissan 200SX SE-R manual
2006 Pontiac G6 GTP Coupe manual
2010 Mazda3 2.5S manual
2004 Honda Accord V6 Coupe manual
2012 Acura TL SH-AWD auto
The ‘09 Miata PRHT 6-speed that I currently have is probably the most fun vehicle I’ve owned.
I also currently have a ‘14 Lexus GX460 and 2 ‘96 Honda Accords that are 5-speeds. I have also owned a ‘92 Miata, ‘87 Toyota Pickup 4x4 and an ‘03 Jetta GLI (all 5 speeds). All of these cars have been pretty fun to drive in different ways.
My stage 2 Audi s5 b8.5. The supercharger whine is gangster as hell.
2001 Porsche Boxter. All I really did was put a good exhaust but it sounds awesome. The manual transmission is an absolute joy that I still have a shit eating grin when I rip through the canyons.
And my beater, a 97 Civic LX…..makes me laugh at how reliable this thing is. 350k miles and it still has so much character. Made me want to cry tears of joy at how easy it is to work on considering I make a living working on VW/Audis. It was like easy mode in comparison!
I’ve had several Mustang GTs, Eagle Talon TSi, ‘72 corvette, ‘06 Cooper S and a DeLorean. All manual transmission. The GTs were the most fun to drive. They just felt like a rowdy V8 engine with tires.
The most fun car I have owned was a 1996 BMW 318ti. It had the winter package, so it was among the very last non-M cars to have a limited slip differential. I had it set up on Bilstein coilovers, M3 LTW rims, H&R sway bars, E46 330is brakes, and sitting on Dunlop Direzza Star Spec tyres in a 235/40/17 size. It was not fast, but there was little that out corner or out stop it.
My second most favourite car was a 1981 Fiat X 1/9. Again, not a fast car, but one of the best handling cars ever produced.
As for other cars. they vary from a 1959 Austin Healy Sprite, past a 1972 Porsche 911E, a slew of VW super beetles, a bunch of Fiat 124 sport spiders, A Lancia Montecarlo, and a Beta HPE, a lightly breathed on Volvo 850, a couple of Saab SPGs, a Saab 9-3 Sport Combi with the six speed, and my current cars: a 2003 Land Rover Discovery and a 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth.
I drive a fully stock '08 Si sedan, and while it's not as fun as my old Integra, it's the best all around car I've ever owned. I, too, smile every time I get in it. I got it last year, but I should have bought one years ago.
Just drove my FG2 Si, yeah that K20Z3 is amazing. I’ve driven way faster cars but the way that engine sounds and behaves is just too fun. Decently fast too, I think mine is around close to 200 at the wheels just Hondata tuned with a K&N Typhoon intake. The induction sound is unlike anything else I’ve driven.
250whp NA K20/K24 build is peak NA 4 cylinder goodness. I think my next car is a GR86, the FA24 in it easily makes 230 to the wheels (NA) best option I can think of.
True VTEC when it hits though, and keeping it right in that tight powerband is just too rewarding.
'72 fiat 124 sport coupe. 1,600 cc dohc, 5 speed, 4 wheel disk brakes. a lancia with the fiat nameplate. was great in city or twisty roads. and it sounded so 'right' with the borla exhaust.
Several slow, old pickup trucks.
Just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. Not worrying about dents and scratches. Banging around in the woods, going camping, it just gives me peace of mind and lowers my anxiety to have something simple and cheap.
Most fun car ive owned: '23 bolt euv. Not a traditional "fun" car, but it really zips when you ask it to. Its like driving a go kart lol
Other cars ive owned:
*2012 Nissan Versa
*2013 Nissan Frontier (Still with me)
*2019 Kia Forte (Engine died and needed replacing, got bolt EUV instead for the wifey)
*2023 Chevy Bolt EUV
Most fun is my 1967 Series 2A 109 NADA Land Rover. My dad bought it in 1969 and I literally grew up in it. I have restomodded it for modern driving and it is my daily drive but I have gone everywhere it it. Other fun cars I have owned were a 2007 BMW M Coupe, a 1982 BMW 633csi and a 1966 289 Mustang Coupe.
Modded/performance vehicles I’ve had: MK3 Focus ST, MK3 Focus RS, 500 Abarth, 4th Gen Prelude SR-V, 3rd gen Prelude SR, NA MX5 Miata, SN95 5.0L & 4.6L V8, MazdaSpeed3, BMW E46 330i ZHP, FG2 07 Civic Si, couple DC2 Integra, JDM GF8 WRX wagon. Have driven dozens of other cars.
I’d say funnest car I’ve experienced is a 2013 FRS with 17k miles I recently picked up with all the essential track upgrades. The steering, handling, control, feeling one with the car with how well it communicates - blows everything else I’ve tried out of the water that I can get in the $20k or under range. Heck the steering is unmatched. I would love a Shelby GT350 and have had the chance to drive them a decent amount and wish it had the steering of the 2013-2021 FT86/FRS/GT86/BRZ.
In order from most to least fun:
2023 Camaro LT1 > 2018 Subaru STi > 2009 Dodge Caliber SRT4 > 2017 Subaru WRX > 2012 Dodge Challenger RT
And some honorable mentions that I haven't owned, but have taken on extended drives: 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata (fits in above the Caliber), 2024 Tesla Model 3 (fits in above the Challenger). While I've only ever taken them on short drives, I'm pretty confident both generations of BRZ belong right behind the Miata.
Most fun was the teal 1993 Mustang Cobra I put 90K miles on. Dumb to sell it and I knew it was special.
Other fun ones:
1987 Mustang LX 5.0 convertible
2005 Pontiac GTO (the Holden one)
2017 Chevy SS (the Holden one)
2017 Porsche Macan Turbo
2021 A90 Supra
My current 2025 BMW i4 M50 is a Hellcat killer
The most fun car I ever had is an Acura ILX.
You could beat the ever loving shit out of that car and it just took it. You could floor it for awhile and not go to jail. It was a civic SI with a dual clutch, better speakers, and better seats.
I have a BMW 540 now, it's objectively a better car, but driving a slow car fast is pretty great compared to driving a fast car worried about going to jail if you hit the accelerator too hard.
Before that, I had a V6 Camry. Reliable, dad fast, well appointed, but boring as shit to drive.
Most fun car I've owned is my 2021 MX-5 which replaced the second most fun car, NC miata. Not the fastest which goes to a 5.0 mustang with tons of go fast parts.
I've got a 2025 Mazda3 Sport GT Turbo with AWD. Prior to this, I had another Mazda3 Sport GT, a Hyundai Elantra GT, two Toyota Matrices, a Toyota Corolla, a Ford Tempo, and a VW diesel Rabbit. Yes, I am old -- and very happy with my current ride!
