I love suppressors as much as the next guy. But it seems like manufacturers are threading everything they sell now. Even guns that aren't designed to be suppressed.
This is a gun designed to be a conceal carry. You use it in an emergency. Why are they trying to make it something else? Are sales slowing down?

Well, that and on a small pistol like this give you an extra 1/2 inch of barrel. I own and carry the non OSP version almost every day. Snappy girl she is. Always wanted to see what the comp does.

I think this is one gun that needed the thread and compensator. The Hellcats are stupid snappy. Latest models have ported barrels because Springfield realized it needed something to help. I have one of these and appreciate the comp but don't intend to use a suppressor ever.

When I see “threaded” I immediately think of suppressor, but not everyone uses it that way.

Yeah that might be part of it. I'm sure they read these threads. It isn't hard for a manufacturer to add a threaded barrel and optics mount, either.
By the way, this is coming from someone who only shoots suppressed. I have as many suppressors as I have guns. But you won't see me shooting a Hellcat with a suppressor. I'll be shooting a full-size handgun designed for suppressor usage. Ever shoot an FNX 45 with a suppressor? It's practically begging for you to use one. Buttery-smooth cycling and fantastic weight distribution with a full-size .45 cal suppressor.
I've shot little handguns with suppressors before and it's so bad that you know immediately it needs to come off. Terrible weight distribution, sights far too low to see anything, cycling becomes sharp and error-prone. You can't just stick a suppressor on anything and call it a day, but that seems to be what these manufacturers are suggesting when they put threaded barrels on conceal carry pistols.

Marketing dictates that the more acronyms a model name has, the better it is and costs more. And the word tactical is synonymous with threaded barrel on pistols.
When I got the OR TB model of CZ P10C I immediately regretted it. Sometimes you just have to hold it to know that it's stupid. Replaced with OR model.
