If you were born an old soul how has that been for you and how is it now?

I've always been old. When I was a child every adult used to comment about how I was 'so mature for my age'. I tried to live up to social expectations in my late teens and twenties by drinking, going to clubs, parties and festivals and that sort of thing. Frankly, I never really enjoyed it and it made me a bit miserable. I always thought that I \_should\_ be enjoying these things, which put a strange pressure on it and made it worse. As I got into my late twenties and early thirties I finally allowed myself to lean fully into my quiet and peaceful ways and I've never been happier. I still have the same friends and do a lot of things with them, but I just take the experiences as I want to and don't try to force anything, and neither do that. A good example would be a concert - I'd rather hand out at the back of the room. I don't want to be in the crowd with my ears ringing. And I'll go home when it's over or I'm tired - no after party. We all went on holiday to Berlin recently and while they were hungover in bed in the morning and early afternoon I would go and walk about the city and visit museums. We would meet up and hang out in the afternoon and get dinner and stuff. When they headed to the clubs I'd head back to hotel and go to sleep. It's great. I wish I'd done it sooner.
