Can't use winget to build laptops because if anything goes wrong on the microsoft side like don't know how to update their own certs, etc the whole system crashes. IF you push apps out using winget but the winget store has a bad cert like it has had for 3 days... laptops can not be imaged. ITS CRAP ! 0x8a15005e : The server certificate did not match any of the expected values"

Yes is does. Fine for personal use but its riddled with bugs and falls apart at scale. Not to mention it has issues with user/system context for many apps. The only time i use it is to install python or powershell 7.

Agreed, I haven't found a way to actually get it to work in system context, which is a huge pita at scale. Works great for me as a admin user though on my personal devices, but in enterprise, nah.

uh YES.. If I can't deploy 20 laptops today because I wrote the app deployment in WINGET that is a huge problem.

I haven't seen issues with Microsoft forgetting to renew their own certs, but the notorious "installer hash does not match" error is definitely a regular occurrence. It usually happens when the app installer is updated, but the winget package manifest has not yet been updated. You can open an issue in the winget Github repo and it's usually resolved relatively fast, but still annoying.
