what a crazy treat that was. my fiancee roped me into watching that show. she doesn't know who he is. so when he popped up I'm like "holy shit babe, look! I know that guy!"
Desperate Housewives was also a show that most guys don't realize is actually really good.
It wasn't before your time, you just didn't get into it. A lot of kids I knew around your age were into a bunch of stuff from the 80s AND more modern stuff.
I didnt have any older siblings or cousins to get me into anything, we didnt have cable or MTV, I was probably 10-11 when I got into Nirvana and that whole scene growing up in Seattle.
I grew up in a religious household, homeschooled until high school, no TV. When we finally got a TV, it was OTA broadcast only, and that was limited. I acquired a taste for metal, especially from the 80s and early 90s anyway.
I've been on a hair metal kick lately and fuck Skid Row had some serious bangers. Sebastian could be a serious dick for a lot of years there but the guy could fucking deliver the goods. And I got to thinking about how Skid Row was just a little too late and never hit it as big as they could have because of changing tastes and like...look. There's no excuse to be a dick. But I get it. I'd be pissed too.
Slave to the Grind was the first metal album to open at #1 on Billboard, so they were well on their way to being huge if they couldāve just managed to stop infighting and keep the band together.
Hard to find, but look for their performance on SNL in 1991. Had timing been different, I think they could have been bigger than GnR. And his solo output in the last few years has been fantastic.
Fucking huge fan of Skid Row here. The music before alternative was always a bit of a mystery today because there was no internet. When I got my own money I got so many tapes and CDs for next to no money. Slave to the Grind is top tier metal and Subhuman Race is grunge with better singing.
I was probably 7 or 8 years old and we were going to Riverside, now Six Flags, in Agawam, MA and my sister had that tape blasting on her Walkman. I wonder if Rachel Bolan still has the chain.
IāLL NEEEVER LET YOU GOOO. Iām not ashamed to admit I had that CD.
I just donāt get how Donāt Close Your Eyes and House of Pain are considered ballads. Those are pretty dark songs.
