I love the music of this era. For movies and shows I go back to about 82-83

Culture really used to just trust people to be smarter. Kenneth Branagh’s Henry V was a big deal. You had movies like My Own Private Idaho, Prospero’s Books that just trusted the audience to know a thing or two before they came into the theater. There was a sense that we had a shared history and a shared civilization that we were all participating in. I miss that.

It's my favorite era of my childhood too. Like my favorite Bulls team is probably 1998 and then 1997. But I seem to have stronger nostalgia for the first threepeat (1991-1993) Bulls.  Some great sitcoms in that era.... Just the Ten of Us (1988-1990) The Wonder Years (1988-1993) Doogie Howser, MD (1989-1993) Saved by the Bell (1989-1992) I intially thought Saved by the Bell ended in 1993 but the final episodes did last air in 1992. Then the College Years popped out by 1993. SBTB has the worst order of episodes. Even if you look at the production code, it still isn't 100% correct. My favorite movie year comes in 1989 and not 1994 although I do love some from 1994. But 1989 had more fun movies.

Also the 120 Minutes Full Archive playlist on Spotify. (166 hours long!) 120 Minutes was an MTV show that spotlighted alternative music.

Along with what others have said: SNICK and Nick at Nite, 80s/90s girl rock stars/bands, specifically repeating from others the X-Files and Tales from the Crypt (add Are you Afraid of the Dark? on SNICK). Super campy stuff like the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, great movies like Wayne’s World and Bill and Ted. Anti-establishment movies and music (T2, Pearl Jam). We had it all. #NostalgiaThatConvenientlyForgetsStuff

The explosion of fighting games and the arcade glory days of Capcom. The heyday is Sierra and LucasArts. Malls. Blockbuster Video. Suncoast. Software Etc. B Dalton Bookseller.

88-92 is my fave. I wasn’t a fan of grunge.

Late 80s Metallica = a great band at their peak. Their “And Justice for All” album (‘88) is amazing and introduced many/most of us to the band. And their “Live in Seattle” video (‘89) ranks among the best things they ever released. Those were better times. ![gif](giphy|1TA2BQUMsMSiWoWpIT)

My favorite era of music, honestly. I feel like rock (hair metal!), pop, rap, and r&b were ALL on point from about 87-93.

The 80's and early 90's Aerosmith ballads have been in constant rotation the last couple months for me lol. No Shame. I've got Big Ones in the car CD player right now lol

Putting in a plug for “We Got the Beat” and “Slacker Rewind,” 80s and 90s-themed shows on WYEP, streamable on their site and app, Friday nights at 8 and 10.
