Jeremy Clarkson recently brought out his Lancia (as seen in The Grand Tour series finale) for a drive and documented the moment on Instagram. Good to see it still running! ๐

If it's not the Monte Carlo, it's his Alfa Romeo GTV6 from Well Aged Scotch.

"Nearly flawlessly" means Jeremy only needed 3 different hammers to fix the breakdowns on his drive to the market

They're a bit underwhelming. 8.8โ9.5 second range for 0โ60 mph. About the same as my aging Kia Rio 1.2

Yeah but look at it.

Unfortunately most of your time is spent looking at the cheap interior trim or being deafened or feeling cramped on the inside. I always felt annoyed about the huge amount of noise with the weak pull. Not as bad as a Beetle of course but with the same level of frustration for me. - Obviously it does have its fans I just want to say to people don't get your hopes too high about getting inside one.

It had to be re-assembled every 5 minutes.

I did some filming at the farm in September and it was out then and in the drive whilst he was there then gone when he wasn't so I assume he takes out it more than just this occasion

Probably like for service.

Is "nearly" some sort of british eufemism for "total engine rebuild and 100 hours of welding"?
rjohn2020@reddit
The word nearly has done it's back in carrying that sentence
iuselect@reddit
Did he have a cold zesty drink while it broke down?
thb202@reddit
My car had most of south englands road salt stuck to it after a drive this weekend, taking out a lances is brave
geniusgravity@reddit
"Nearly".....I bet that's doing some heavy lifting.
SlickDillywick@reddit
It is a Lancia after all

Weren't they the rally championship cars??
CameronsTheName@reddit
Rally cars only drive a couple thousand miles over a year or two. Then they get retired.
Plus... Rally teams have basically two spares of everything available at the start and end of a stage to replace parts or repair the vehicle.
Ill-Elephant-9583@reddit
All fair points. I have an extremely rudimentary understanding of thing's like this so thanks for explaining the apparent contradiction!
franzn@reddit
Easy to make something run nearly faultlessly when you have a race team behind you.
sneekeruk@reddit
And your only really using the middle bit of the road car. and even thats quite a loose approximation.
Ornery-Vehicle-2458@reddit
Needs original wheels. Aren't those from a Delta (Integrale?)
Maybbaybee@reddit
Nearly
Like a life long smoker getting out of bed and coughing their lungs out just to get going.
Freak_Engineer@reddit
"It ran nearly faultlessly" = "It didn't immediately burst into flames upon turning the key i the ignition"...

Had a Beta Spyder or Zagato. Fave car ever!
West_Tension1379@reddit
God damn, thatโs a stunningly beautiful car.
