Does drinking a 0.0% break my sober streak?

Good day United Kingdom, With dry January in the bag, I picked up some 0.0% Guinness for tonight. Upon returning home and unpacking my significant other said it will break my sober streak. As I am pushing back it wouldn’t we need a third party to intervene. Btw alcohol isn’t a problem in my life or our relationship I just don’t want to break my sober streak. Thank you!

1) No, you don’t need a third party. It’s your "streak", you decide what it means. 2) I think its bonkers to consider NAB an alcoholic drink. As others have noted, it’s much less alcoholic that lots of things we feed children.

I'd say no. Sure you've technically "ingested ethanol", but you haven't "had an alcoholic drink". If this counts, then slightly ripe fruit counts.

0.0% drinks are regulated as alcohol free. The “trace amounts” point isn’t unique to beer either. Bread, fruit juice, ripe fruit, and plenty of everyday foods contain similar or higher trace alcohol levels. Sobriety is about intent and effect. You’re not drinking to get drunk, and a 0.0% drink can’t intoxicate you. By any practical definition, that’s still sober. Ultimately, the only definition that matters is the one you set for yourself.

We own our own home, both have cars we own outright and have a great family so surviving ok for now. Never needed help putting pants on but will be sure to ask here if that situation ever occurs!

Most carb heavy foods contain more alcahol. Guinness 0 is honestly one of the best 0% drinks av found. I drink it regularly. Enjoy

Tell your wife that to be a no alcohol beer legally there has to be less than 0.05% ABV. There are trace amounts of alcohol in virtually everything. I hope that your wife hasn't received oral in January...

Does drinking fruit juice (e.g. orange juice) break your sober streak? How about eating bread? Both of these contain alcohol sometimes up to 1% by volume

A ripe banana is about 0.2% ABV and some breads are around 0.1%. As you've stated that alcohol abuse isn't an issue thus there's no risk in this being a gateway drink, I think you're fine.
