My in-laws live near Keighley, landlord in those parts tastes amazing as the brewery is a stones throw away. I live down south, it doesn’t taste the same, still decent, but damn up north it’s amazing.

We have a well-respected brewery (Bathans) which has had a pub attached for decades. The beer tastes great, but - my god - I have to put seatbelts on the lav and toilet roll in the fridge if I ever have a pint at the brewery...

Potential_Bird_8597@reddit

My apologies, but I'm gonna be that guy. Lager is beer. Ale is beer. The difference between lager and ale is in the fermenting process, but they're all beer.

Love Proper Job. Has a pretty intense bitter finish compared to other similar beers available in supermarkets, always find myself coming back to it
View on Reddit #77308637

Sandy_Bananas@reddit

Innit, it’s absolutely consistent. I’ve noted the canned is slightly more bitter than the cask, I presume it’s to do with the strength. It’s a perfect beer for me, regardless of the season; hits all the right notes at the back of the throat. Something I don’t get with most ales… I can’t stand Malt, or Caramel Summer, il play with Sours.

Agreed. I’m ten minutes from the border with Cornwall. My local rips through a barrel every 2-3 days, always kept impeccably too. I’m partial to it canned (it’s a little stronger) but never quite as smooth. Cheers.

Been in lots of trouble over the years they have. Lots of problems with their marketing and design appealing to under 18s. Had several beers pulled off of shelves for that reason.
View on Reddit #77303362

ReditMcGogg@reddit

That’s not quite true. They did get in bother with the Portman Group but this was more of an industry issue than them trying to sell beer to kids. They’re a great brewery with great branding - and independent too!

Went to their taproom before Newport County v Spurs a few years ago. Drank a pint of everything, capped off with two pints of Imperial Stay-Puft Porter (9%). Can’t remember much of the match, but it was fucking cold & we scraped a late equaliser, and won the replay back at ours. Top brewery!!

In the early 90's, I was a young Yank (21) in Manchester and had too many Hens. Didn't want to be at the pub anymore with my friends. Decided to go back to our lodging alone. have you tried Fullers HSB or 1845?
View on Reddit #77297895

Tigweg@reddit

Shouldn't that be ESB? Though it's been 20 years since I lived in London. I haven't tried 1845 I like London Pride because it's a session beer, you can drink lots of it before getting too drunk

Christian-Metal@reddit

There's a HSB *and* and ESB. I, too, do really enjoy Fullers beer. London Pride is a solid session pint and I used to love the Bengal Lancer IPA and the Wild River American style IPA. Great beers.

Absolutely any *cask* ale by Tiny Rebel. They are usually divine. This is Juicy which is, hands down, one of my favourite beers I have ever drunk. I discovered the brewery at the 2016 GBBF. https://preview.redd.it/yim36zh3lpgg1.png?width=1440&format=png&auto=webp&s=b8258a2c7ee318567af23b30fa667f40a37610cb Not a massive fan of British lagers - but I am starting to enjoy the proper German pilsners beers more and more. I do have to remind myself that lager is just another beer style and doesn't automatically mean that it will be horrible, fizzy p\*ss tasting such as your Fosters, Carlsberg, Carling etc.

Favourite beer in general is likely Anspach & Hobday's London Black. Favorite lager is likely something from Utopian if we are going for a British lager. Although I generally prefer German styles. I am not really one to stick to drinking the same beer over and ove. On a night in the pub I"ll normally try everything they have on cask or keg is some place more craft beer focused.
