Awww man that’s a BC plate. Was really hoping it wasn’t here. We have such a horrible track record with dump truck drivers hitting things, namely overpasses. Doesn’t surprise me, also with no regard for anyone else’s safety.
Smh nooo it’s becuase the volts from the line will be on the ground . Electric travels into a big circle with smaller circles. If you step out you will die. Heard a kid that did this exact thing he was fine until he stepped out the car.
He immediately died from electrocution.
To be electrocuted you have to be touching two different points of electric potential. When you're in the car you're at high potential but it won't travel through you because you are not the path of least resistance to ground, just like a bird standing on a powerline. If you touch the ground, while touching the car, the electricity will travel from the higher potential of the car, to the lower potential of the ground. When you jump from the car, electricity cannot travel through you. The safest way to do it is to land with your two feet together, so that your feet are not placed at two different potentials.
The dump truck is stupid.
So is the camera woman. What is the point of stopping and waving your hand stop in the windscreen.

Of course, in the narration "he hasn't noticed he hit it." Riiiiight, "I didn't feel it!" Hoping it would shake off just driving on til he gave up that idea.
I have to post this every time I see that quote:

Dude had his bed up and caught the line you’re seeing the aftermath of him putting the bed down that’s why there are cables wrapped down and around the cab shield. Happens more often than you’d think dump truck drivers aren’t the greatest at paying attention.
True. That situation should have never left the point where he hit the line and brought the pole down. See it happen more than you think on construction sites. It amazes me that these people have no situational awareness.
My truck has these cool things that help me see what’s going on behind me, I think they’re called “mirrors” - literally just glance over at them and I can see stuff way behind me, it’s like magic.
I don’t think there are any actual glass mirrors in the mirror housing on most dump trucks. It’s the only thing that I can think of to explain their stupidity and accidents. Hitting bridges, overhead signs, overhead wires etc. while driving with the box elevated.
What a great generation we're living in. Everybody gets to be an a******. How do you know the driver wasn't trying to get away from live wires? And if I had to pull the pole on the top of my bed off, I would try to dump it off and get away from it. Everybody has a comment. Most are just morons.
I was a Forman at a mine. The boss hired a new dump truck driver and the first day he showed up to work in shorts, flip flops, and a Hawaiian shirt. I thought to myself “doesn’t look like a truck driver to me”. His job was to haul material from out of the pit to the crusher. First load he got the truck on a hill and turned it over. I radioed the boss and he came out and asked the guy if he was hurt. He said no but was clearly shaken up. The boss ask him what happened and he said he didn’t know it was a mystery to him. I could see that the boss was getting really agitated and he started jumping up and down and yelled at the guy “well just go to the damn house and don’t come back!” Finding and keeping good help is nearly impossible in modern America.
