The people in the last row will have gone insane by the time they actually get off the airplane.

It also looks like you could only pitch up about 5° before the tail hits. Maybe less. It'll no doubt get a retractable skid for such occasions though.

Fortunately Boeing already has technology that can automatically push the nose down…

Some people dont realize there's a reason you can draw a straight line from that step up at the bottom of the tail, and have it end more or less tangent to the mainmounts. That's the necessary AOA at rotation, plus a safety factor.

Turkstache@reddit

That's only true for the longest variant of the original design. I drew a line and put a wheel (the app wouldn't let me shrink the sticker enough) where it would be if what you said was true for this model. They dont change that angle when the jet is lengthened or shortened beyond the additional offering https://preview.redd.it/x41mazrb3igg1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=f089324906042d84029a9d552c176d3a1a0611ca You can see that the landing gear would have to place the jet an entire fuselage-height off the ground. The lowest point on a 777 (i know from walking under then) is roughly about 6.5-7' off the ground. This design would raise that to nearly 20 feet... they're not doing that In fact the stretch 737s have the same issue. Their landings have to be way faster than the original Vref to avoid tail strikes.

Average Boeing development. Just make it longer, install software limiters until it works.
View on Reddit #77194772

Wait until it crashes to fix the software limiters.

The idea was abandoned when a survey showed that rear seated passengers would have demanded a lower fare as they'd be arriving slightly later than front seated passengers.

Exchange rates would have to be recalculated between landing, gate arrival, and deboarding.

So this is what is replacing the 747 defacto. Im curious in 30-40 years if this is what replaces the new air force ones.

You'd need a lot of duct tape to hold that together.

777-11x, board via the forward door at your departure airport, and leave via the rear door at your destination, without the plane ever moving.
