What on earth has happened to gym etiquette?
I used to be at the gym multiple times a week from 2008 - 2016. Due to personal reasons, I stopped around 2016.
I'm fortunately now in a good enough position to return to the gym. However, here are some examples of what I have experienced since returning:
- someone literally putting their foot on my bench to rest as I'm at the rack changing weights.
- someone very nearly walking into my dumbbells as I'm mid set benching.
- people carelessly spilling water all over the treadmill and then walking off, requiring me to wipe it off.
- shouting and swearing with their friends obnoxiously loud like we're in the club.
- the dumbbell rack has never looked worse. 12kg stacked next to 50kg... zero order.
The above, by the way, is only from today's session I had. Maybe I've got early onset, but I never recall any of the above things when I used to regularly go.
Maybe it's the town or the gym is just poor (it's a chain, but so was my last), but damn is it depressing to see.
