It is already sold out for 2026. Orders coming in for 2027.

Right look, right range. Good for BMW.

An order is not a sale

> An order is not a sale. I think production will catch up quick. Idk why you have 17 downvotes. Pre-orders do not always translate into sales.

Once again Reddit is completely detached from reality, and can't accept the fact that BMW's design language is a big reason for their recent success
View on Reddit #77084322

autisticlettuce@reddit

If it was up to the BMW forums, we'd all still be driving E36's with S58's in them.

Karmaqqt@reddit

Yeah it’s a car place. We like cars. Just begging for points is so weird
View on Reddit #77195856

JacksterTO@reddit

Their design language is not the reason for their success. The fact that they build the higher quality cars of the other mainstream German brands is the reason they are selling well.
View on Reddit #77156786

fuzzylogicIII@reddit

I mean maybe, but things can sell in spite of their looks, not just because of them
View on Reddit #77109185

Ok_Two_2604@reddit

The look at me car sells to people who want a look at me car. *surprised pickachu face*
View on Reddit #77085179

samcuu@reddit

Even people who know nothing about cars and don't care about cars at all know a BMW when they see one. That's extremely import.
View on Reddit #77106793

strongmanass@reddit

It's literal Pikachu face for this sub and r/BMW as people tie themselves in ever greater knots to explain the sales success and refuse to accept that people could actually like the designs. If you say you like them they angrily tell you you're coping and then go back to claiming nobody could like them and wonder why they're selling.

Looks way better IMO than the current X3, not surprised at all. Excited to see them here in the states.

Alive_Internet@reddit

Minus that awful looking steering wheel. What were they thinking when they designed that?
View on Reddit #77230242

despalicious@reddit

Conventional attractiveness doesn’t seem to matter a much to actual buyers in this segment as it does to keyboard warriors. The current X3 is in the top 5 of luxury car sales, behind ugly ducklings like the RX and NX, and BMW is the top selling luxury brand in the country and world.
View on Reddit #77073413

skepticaljesus@reddit

> Conventional attractiveness doesn’t seem to matter as much to actual buyers in this segment as it does to keyboard warriors. Probably the only segment where it does matter more is high end sports cars?
View on Reddit #77129404

despalicious@reddit

I would also argue mainstream crossover SUVs, which are competing to look more “rugged” and traditionally truckish: RAV-4, Pilot, CX-50, Palisade. That depends on what is considered conventionally attractive, but IMO in that segment it’s boxy/beefy.

RichHomieWentzel@reddit

It’s true for the US at least. In Europe and China X3 sales are noticeably down since the model change. In China it’s particularly bad with almost -40% in 2025. Here in Germany the G45 gets a shit ton of hate for the cheap interior while in US forums and reviews people seem to care a lot less.

The new one rides a lot better than the old one having driven both. Its significantly more comfortable Not that reddit cares about stuff like that.
View on Reddit #77076988

DM725@reddit

Looks worse with cheaper interior materials. Assuming it got more expensive too. Different strokes.
View on Reddit #77078378

Win7Ultimatex64@reddit

Your EX30 has an interior in which Chun-Li (me) will Hadouken on it.
View on Reddit #77119147

DM725@reddit

What are you implying? And Chun-Li didn't have the hadouken. Her projectile move is kikoken.

I don’t think the current gen RX and NX are considered ugly by most. In fact the NX in particular has been quite well received - esp compared to the previous gen.

Okay but how many did they make?
View on Reddit #77071491

Gods_ShadowMTG@reddit

around 200k in their europe plant in hungary alone
View on Reddit #77073231

JB_UK@reddit

That would be about 10% of global BMW production. Vehicles like this are the arrival of EVs in the mass market, the first time they are going head to head with the petrol equivalents.
View on Reddit #77163085

ALaLaLa98@reddit

Lol, for a second I thought 200k was the price.

View on Reddit #77085020

ManufacturerBest2758@reddit

BMW sold 76k X3s in North America last year and a similar number of X5s. Total production for the ix3 in the first year is probably pretty decent.
View on Reddit #77072512

DM725@reddit

Unless you have a source I don't see how you can make that connection.
View on Reddit #77078228

DaggumTarHeels@reddit

From the article: >To keep wait times from stretching into next winter, BMW is bringing forward a second production shift at its brand new Debrecen plant in Hungary, Auto News reports. The site is BMW’s first factory built purely for EVs, and while it’ll eventually build around 150,000 cars a year, it’s currently still ramping up. Clearly, that ramp needs to get steeper. It's not clear if the "eventual 150K cars a year" is split amongst multiple models or not, but it's safe to assume that production currently is more than just a few, even before the ramp up. Demand is high for this product. The price, features, and range are all class leading.
View on Reddit #77144134

ManufacturerBest2758@reddit

Uh huh. So how many do you think they made, and based on what?
View on Reddit #77084505

DM725@reddit

There's no way to know.
View on Reddit #77086053

ManufacturerBest2758@reddit

Right. So it’s better, in your mind, to think that a car maker that makes a lot of their very popular products *did not* make a lot of their new highly anticipated product because “there’s no way to know.” Great contribution to the discussion.
View on Reddit #77086258

DM725@reddit

It's better to not make up nonsense.
View on Reddit #77086299

ManufacturerBest2758@reddit

It’s “nonsense” to think that BMW made a bunch of cars? Are you drunk?
View on Reddit #77086527

DM725@reddit

It's nonsense to think they made the same amount right off the bat as 2 out of their 3 most popular crossovers that have been in production for decades.
View on Reddit #77086642

ManufacturerBest2758@reddit

Also, how about you go tell the guy who thinks they made 5 how nonsensical you think that is?

I turoed an electric Mercedes SUV around san Fran and Napa Valley last year and didn’t mind it at all. Looked great and drove ok. Although I found the suspension a bit too floaty. Felt like I was driving a boat over gentle waves. I have no context from other electric suvs since I’ve only driven electric sedans prior to that.
View on Reddit #77085096

Its butt ugly. I can see the face working on the 3 series but not the X.
View on Reddit #77077678

flatpetey@reddit

I wish they had not had done the mini kidneys. It is like they saw the amazing response the NK design language got and then massively chickened out. That being said this is looking like a great EV and priced to sell.
View on Reddit #77075725

strongmanass@reddit

This is very consistent with everything they've said about Neue Klasse. SUVs get the small, narrow kidney and cars get the wide ones. [These](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/XwqEqiy0A2k/sddefault.jpg) were the concepts.
View on Reddit #77090632

CubedSeventyTwo@reddit

Oh thank god, I'm super interested in the NK 3 series as my next car and my biggest issue with the ix3 is the mini kidneys.
