Young Professional Moving to Dallas

Hi guys, I am a recent graduate that just accepted a job in downtown. I'm from Fort Worth, but not very familiar with the Dallas area. It seems Uptown has a "young professional" vibe to it, so I'm primarily looking at studio or 1BR apartments in the area. My budget is \~$1700 with some flexibility either way, any help or tips would be much appreciated!

Nice, Uptown is a great spot. I used Square Cow Movers when I moved to Dallas and they were solid.

With a 1700 budget you can find studios and some smaller one bedrooms, just watch for parking and amenity fees because those add up fast. Knox Henderson and parts of Lower Greenville are also worth a look if Uptown feels a little too dense. I’ve also seen TX High Risers mentioned when people were weighing Uptown versus nearby neighborhoods. Try to browse such specific listings so you can compare areas. That will help you see what was actually realistic in that range.

I live in Knox and it’s super nice, but I hate that all of the restaurants and stores nearby are $$$$$ for the average person, I leave the neighborhood more than I’d like to

I lived in MAA North Hall for a year, it was $1,700 for a two bed so I’m sure it’s less for a studio. The management kinda sucked and the elevator barely worked, but the apartments were super nice and the location was UNBEATABLE. Right next to the Katy trail, a trolly stop, Walgreens, cvs, a gas station, and a ton of restaurants and shopping

You’ve got it - uptown is a common place for young professionals to land in Dallas. With a budget of $1700, you have to know where to look if you want to be close to uptown. There are pockets of more affordable apartments and condos in turtle creek and on either side of Knox St that will fit your budget. Happy to send a list of them to you! I’m a realtor and work uptown at your budget often. Send me a DM and I can get you set up.
