I have done some solo backpacking around Europe/Asia but it’s my first time doing in the americas. Would love some feedback on my itinerary and some suggestions for must dos! Just some disclaimers about places I’m not visiting this time: - Mexico City: will be visiting with my family for the 2026 World Cup so will unfortunately be giving it a miss this time - Tikal/semuc champey: I’m planning to split the itinerary with a week in Mexico and a week in Guatemala so I won’t have time to head to these places High Level itinerary: 23 June: SIN to LA 6.40pm- 7.35pm 24 June: LA to BJX 12.50am - 5.03am arrive in Guanajuato 25 June: Guanajuato 26 June: day trip to San Miguel/Dolores hidalgo 27 June: BJX to MID flight 10.33am - 12.45pm, arrive in Merida 28 June: Chichen Itza/valladolid/cenote tour 29 June: Merida 30 June: MID to GUA flight 230-3.50pm, take shuttle to Antigua, stay overnight in Antigua 1 Jul:, morning shuttle bus to Panajchel, stay overnight at one of the villages (undecided) 2 Jul: stay overnight at one of the villages (undecided) 3 Jul: Stay in overnight in Panajachel 4 Jul: Morning bus to Antigua 5 Jul: Acantenango hike 6 Jul: Acatenango hike 7 Jul: afternoon flight back to LA 2.50pm- 10.50pm (2hr layover in MEX), stay at hotel in LAX overnight 8 Jul: afternoon flight back to SIN I have a question regarding how to get from BJX airport to Guanajuato: is private transfer the only way? Or can we use unebus? I’ve checked and there’s a bus around 9.40am which I should be able to make in 24 June. With regards to my flight to GUA on the 30 June: I’ve checked Guatego and the only times I can make it are 4.30pm (a bit rushed) or 7.30pm. I’m considering taking a private shuttle instead but it’s twice the price haha so not sure if I should just wait for 7.30pm lol
