Any of my fellow Genx'ers dealing with worsening health or needing recommended tests but do not have health insurance?

It's a real bummer man. I don't remember my parents ever having an issue with medical care in the 80's and they did not have insurance. In 1982 when I was four I had major chest surgery. I was not insured then and my parents were able to cover it and they definitely didn't make great money. Now I'm 48 with no insurance and it sucks. As it stands I have late stage COPD. 37% lung function. Cardiomyopathy. Need pulmonary tests yearly I can't receive. Need an inhaler that cost $800 a month that I can't afford. Forget about colon cancer screens. That's out. We are a family of three and were on Medicaid. My wife got a raise of $1 and it put us over the limit. My wife and I lost the coverage but thankfully my daughter still has it. My wife has Hashimoto's and needs a endoscopy and a biopsy to check for autoimmune gastritis which would put her at a high risk of stomach cancer. She is 35. Clinic called us back today and said it is $12,800 for the procedure and they will schedule it if we make a down payment of 6k. So that's not happening. Any of my fellows in a situation with no health coverage? How do you mentally deal with it without being angry and scared all the time? Best medicine in the world available these days if you can afford it. Sorry to bellyache but sometimes it helps to hear others stories. Just wondering how you cope if you're in the same sort of situation.
