The 2080 Ti is a tiny bit faster and has more VRAM. But, the 5060 can run the latest version of DLSS better. At 1080p I'd probably go with the 5060 for lower power draw and better support.

As someone who just got a 2080ti should I just sell it and buy a 5060 or if I get enough cash from the 2080 ti a 5060 ti?

upgrade to something notably better than the 2080ti. The price gap is huge imo

Not to mention that the 2080 Ti is eight years old at this point and is more likely to start having failing components just as a factor of age.
I agree that if these are the only two options, I'd go with the 5060.

I have the 2080 and your hurting his feelings.....

i was in this exact situation and i chose the 2080 ti purely because of the issues with 8gb cards on higher settings.

the 2080 ti was released in 2018, making it 8 years old now. why go for that when the 5060 is a new, modern gpu with that performs similary, has warranty, better dlss performance, less power consumption, and ability to use frame gen? a 5060 is $299 at microcenter and $350 on newegg. there's no good reason to get the 2080 ti now, unless it was cheaper than the 5060. at the same price, it's no brainer to get 5060.

For the same price and 1080p, 5060 but it's reasonably close.
