Have you ever moved to a "chilled" job for less pay, late in your career?

Perfect you should do it unless is a reason. I have not but alas I found myself disabled through allowing spondylitis. I was working as a travelling magi, I worked travelling on my trade as a painter who was time served which back then was three years and day on college here and there. Now not too disrespect painting and decorating didn't need three years. I was working 7 days a week long hours and earning probally more than I can now I hear. If my disability didn't stop that job I would have ended up like people I worked with be it painters who bar labourers where probally lowest paid of trades however I knew how to do other skills. My ego aside and was not great haha but Sparky's and chippys where paid even more than that. Work 7 days a week longish hours go out at night most nights because it was boring in a hotel and internet phones where not really a thing. I quit because of disability twice but my boss loved me because of work as hard as I can and he told me even if you slow down I know you will do more than many I have hired. I was lucky in hindsight I got out because body told me earlier I mean I'm buggered but what can you do. Eventually everyone just went back home because you cant carry on and many where later on the career. You made it my friend. You don't wanna be Jack lemmon in Glen Gary. You own your house and your debt free. Your currency and I'm nearly 50 sort off is time and less stress. You should put your energy and you may be on this earth mate 20 or 30 or 40 and it's very possible on you. Get your chilled job live like you sound you do within you mean and follow a muse or a hobby or a passion. Here is a massive caveat in your case and people like you. If you get offered a obscene and we talking relatively amount of money too work hard for a few more years. Balance that. Comfortable Vs three to five years of living absolute luxury is the eye of the beholder. For you sir I wrote this because this seems to be the point of your question. And if your feeling like you don't know then price yourself out of the less chilled job. Gove em a wage you want seems unreasonable to you and if they say yes go pull a few more years. Otherwise no you earned some chilled job and and are secure and deserve a bit of less stress.
