Friendly reminder

Depends on your company my current company (im on my second time around here) they talk about how to stay healthy offer pamphlets and the girls im the office eat sleep and breathe healthy living and offer to educate we can walk in and and say hey not feeling my best i feel like i need to change something do you have a minute to chat and theyll excitedly talk with you about diet life at home (not just gorging yourself) etc. I choose to take my heath my way and I watch my diet only "soda" I consume is monsters ( I know i know horrible for me but I pay attention to intake and I stay active most of the year im not the pinicle of a healthy 27M but I watch it and limit myself to one occasionally when i need that extra push at 3am ill have a second) and fresca. I eat protein geared for the most part occasionally subway panda express or the fast food at the truck stop depending on how long Ive been up. This approach was phenomenal last time I was OTR and I actually lost a good bit of weight but I went local where staying active wasnt hard I mean speed walking MILES a day pushing/pulling hundreds of pounds but not near as much time for meal prep/making dinner so convenience took over and ended up gaining weight from grabbing bars off the shelf or whatever junk was left over from breakfast or lunch at gas stations/truck stops. That company PREACHED that we needed to watch our intake but when you asked for advice there wasnt even a pamphlet to be found let alone any form of solid advice most of the time it was you need to figure that out yourself thats part of your job description "taking personal health serious and taking steps to stay healthy or improve when needed" I think the biggest thing that make it harder for myself aswell as my fellow drivers is the majority of us are running as hard as we are for those we leave at home. So when the "healthy" option for lunch (salad fruit etc) is a good 4-5 dollars more than that 2for 5 tornada roller foods we tend to choose the rollers 4-5 bucks isnt so bad for one transaction but say your lucky and you get home every weekend so 5 days out theres 20-50 bucks extra a week on food not to include random needs sometimes wants most of us dont have full service kitchens in our trucks we get a slightly smaller than a hotel mini fridge IF your company provides it and theres a slot for a microwave. I myself have been out for a month (my choice ive refused to go home I'm single no kids I got most of whole world in here I have no reason to go home besides I need to get laundry done and restock so this weekend im pulling a reset in the company lot stealing the company van to do just that 😅) meal prep is just about the only way to stay healthy but extended runs can make it very difficult. Im stopping there cause im afraid im rambling ive also been up since 7am cst if you have specific questions im happy to answer to the best of my ability.
