Anyone have experience with the bear trail ebike, pedal assist, model ursus cub? Think the motor is 250 w.

In Colorado, a rebate, this model is almost free, $50. Pretty tight budget, fixed income but I would benefit from an ebike.

Has anyone here actually received a bike?
Hoi_Polloi22@reddit
Finally got it today 4/22/26! Ordered in December. I was very annoying though after 12 weeks.
Superb-Procedure4643@reddit
How does the bike work?
Hoi_Polloi22@reddit
Works great so far. We added fenders, better handlebars, rear view mirrors, and headlights. Still testing how long the battery actually lasts.
Ok-Assumption-9089@reddit
Hey how has the bike been so far? I have someone offering me the same one to me brand new and was wondering if I should get it. Let me know thank you!
ZealousidealHour8582@reddit
I ordered mine in December, 2025 & picked up today 4/23/2026. If you ordered the upgraded bike, beware - that aren't paying attention to that and just giving everyone the standard bike.
Neat-Dealer-3815@reddit
I have two of them. And while picking mine up watched a lady pay $250 total for 5 bikes. I only paid $36 for mine and I have the zoula glide which I love and the ursus cub I haven't had much chance to try as I just got it days ago
ColoradoLowesKC@reddit
I applied for mine in December and had gotten an email a few weeks ago that my bike was ready but couldn’t just up and leave work to go get it off Colfax but today I was off luckily and got an email it was ready for pickup but had to drive to hampden to pick it up which was a 30 min drive from where I live! But yes i did receive my e-bike today finally!
Alive_Somehow_1994@reddit
Just picked mine up today no joke mine took about 2 years. Had to pay almost 80$ for pickup because I wouldn't pay upfront in September.
GarlicHour336@reddit
Registered in September 2025. Just picked up today, March 2026. It’s legit.
Urban-hiker-303@reddit
I just picked mine up today, after a year-long wait!
jshanks05@reddit
It no joke took one full calendar year but yes I just got mine
One-Elk2387@reddit

Filled ours out online in December and keep getting the “sorry you are waiting” emails
Positivebrainvibes@reddit
I just ordered mine. They said 6-12 weeks. I’ll let you know when I get it and what it’s like. I live in Carbondale and will pick it up in Rifle. I’ll give a full review for sure! If I had read this first I would not have ordered it to be honest. I’m hopeful it all works out.
Affectionate_Falcon8@reddit
Did you receive your bike? I live in GWS and am contemplating...
Positivebrainvibes@reddit
Not yet and I ordered at the end of February. I emailed but no reply. I will let everyone know if it’s a scam and I will report it.
Expert_Strike_5527@reddit
It's a totally fake website for ursus. They aren't real. No support, and only bear trail bikes ,coebikes (the other scam with the same owner) and 2 other completely fake companies show up as their only customers. It's not a real bike company. It's part of bear trails scam. They are probably knock offs from AliExpress with a logo slapped on them. They also are not in the system to look up UL battery standards
Downtown_Office_6226@reddit
They may be knock offs but they are free. I picked up my ursus club today but it took about 16 weeks
Expert_Strike_5527@reddit
They aren't free. We are tax payers. They literally stole OUR tax money. It's FRAUD
Downtown_Office_6226@reddit
I mean $39-$50 in exchange for an ebike to pay taxes on it still isn’t a bad trade in my opinion can’t get an ebike for that price anywhere online and for a lot of folk who are struggling with transportation right now it seems to be really helpful for them. Yeah it might not be the smoothest system but as someone who received their bike eventually I really can’t complain and I’m fortunate to not have to rely on this as my sole transportation either. But for a lot of people who also got the bikes it was a great option
Expert_Strike_5527@reddit
Im not talking about the $50. Im talking about the $450 STOLEN from the state that is in fact OUR TAX MONEY. I pay hella taxes. Not ok it gets stolen by scammers
Downtown_Office_6226@reddit
Understandable but the difference in our taxes for e-bikes vs the amounts that the billionaires and millionaires of Colorado evade is inconsequential. To me this feels more like a community benefit. Easy to be angry at people when you can see the product but really our taxes are drained by the tax cuts served to multi million and billion dollar corporations. Especially within this presidency. I don’t mind paying the extra .0001% income taxes for everyone to be able to get some form of transportation. I do mind paying the extra 20% to make up the difference of all the tax evasion of the top 5% . People who can commute are people who can work and pay their own taxes back eventually. I think your anger is misplaced.
TerdFerguson1984@reddit
I stopped in the store off colfax yesterday. They are remodeling so it looks even more sus than it sounds, but in the few minutes I was there, I think 3 people came to pick up bikes. I only stopped in cause I was in the area and already filled out the affidavit for the $450 rebate and wanted to see if i could buy something off the floor. Nope. I pulled the trigger on the ursus cub and now I'm waiting. For 50 bucks it's worth a shot
snimminycricket@reddit
My hesitation is that I already have a 2021 Radpower bike, which I have enjoyed for many years - but recently it was announced that Rad's first-gen batteries are an explosion hazard (small percentage but still worth worrying about). Rad put out a press release, said they would NOT be offering replacements as though it were a true recall, but offered a discount on an upgraded safer battery. Then they sold out of the newer batteries, THEN they went bankrupt. So I'm here with a bike I love and a battery that may or may not be a ticking time bomb/chemical fire hazard, and no support from the company I've relied on for the past few years. And it appears the company that makes the Ursus bikes isn't on the list of UL registered brands, which was the problem with those Rad batteries.
I filled out the $250 rebate form on Bear Trail's website, and I started looking at the "free" options. But I decided before I even think of giving them $50 and driving from Boulder to Lakewood for pickup I should see if these bikes are at all reputable. And I can't find any info on the Ursus Cub except from people trying to sell them. No reviews, no safety info, nothing. An ebike that cheap might just snap in half if I come off a curb wrong, or its battery might be even more sketchy than the one for my Rad. I don't want to rely on something if it's gonna fuck me over when I'm not expecting it. So until there's more info about these cheap bikes, I'm jot even sure the $50 is worth it.
Except of course for people who are in dire need of cheap transportation. I've been there too, and in those times I would have jumped at the chance for something like this. But now, even with my limited options, I'm gonna hold off until I have more info.
blavestayman1@reddit
Where are you seeing them for sale? I've check Facebook and Craigslist in the Denver area and got no results for the Ursus Cub or a different model Bear Trail had for "free" before the end of the year (S7). Figured if people are actually getting a $700 bike for only $50, surely there'd be people buying just to resell for a profit. In any other case this would scream scam to me, but surely it'd have been busted by now if it was? I didn't even think about your point - what if it's a crappy, unsafe, or simply unusable bike...
snimminycricket@reddit
The only places I've seen any mention of them are the Ursus website, the Bear Trail website, and the website of some bike seller in Eugene, OR. I haven't seen any being resold by individuals. And again, I can't find ANY reviews from unbiased third parties.
blavestayman1@reddit
I'm staying optimistic that the deal is legit, but managing my expectations that the bike is good quality. I'll probably visit their store for an update if it takes too long, and hoping to update the Reddit community once I finally get mine!
AxesInMotion@reddit
Wanted to second the other reply. I got mine on Tuesday as well. I remember filling out the form in Sep or Oct 2024 so it definitely took a while to get. Overall, it's good for what you get all things considered and I plan on using it to commute 3 miles to school.
Large-Mycologist-989@reddit
Same experience for me. Filled out the form in Sept 2024 and just picked it up yesterday. It’s a decent bike, especially for the $36 tax. Easy to assemble and rides nicely.
PM_ME_UR_GIRLY_PARTS@reddit
Just got mine and my wife's on Tuesday. It's legit, even if every bit of the entire process screamed scam to me and it took 13 months as we filled out the forms after she visited their booth at a Google conference last year in February. As for the bike, it's a solid frame pedal assist bike. I thought it had manual throttle and even the PDF they sent over this morning says it should have it, but it's a simple pedal assist bike. It's clearly a much cheaper lower end e-bike, but for the $36 it's plenty good enough for quick trips around my area. I would not call it anything special and I did have to adjust a few things to make it work well, but overall for just the cost of the sales tax I'm happy with it. Their store off Colfax and the entire pickup process, again, very sketchy feeling, but here's one of the two bikes we got. The battery is not attached in the picture as I had it on the charger.

$450 rebate?? i got $225 for colorado
Suspicious_Ad1266@reddit
Colorado rebate was $450 in 2025 and dropped to $225 for 2026. I ordered mine in Dec 2025 & haven't received yet but they are in touch with updates. There were thousands of orders in 2025. Good to see here that some are picking up their bikes.
TerdFerguson1984@reddit
Beginning of the year it was 450.i think after a certain amount of people it dropped
Dear_Painting4918@reddit (OP)
Agreed!

Has anyone actually seen any of the Ursus bikes? All I’ve ever seen are stock photos and probably AI generated one’s. Real photos of the smilee and zoola are out there but I don’t think I’ve seen a customer with one. Wonder if they have received a shipment at all for these. Is that why it’s taking so long, do they exist?
ColoradoLowesKC@reddit
I got a white Ursus 26inch bike according to the outside of the box but I haven’t opened it or taken anything out yet. But the ursus bikes do exist as I got one myself this morning when I picked mine up. I thought I ordered an s7 foldable style bike also but it says 26inch white on the outside of the box. Which in my case is fine as I do not have any e bikes until now.
EffortSubstantial402@reddit
Yea, I’ve seen the videos and pics now of the actual biking people’s possession. I posted this before they must have got a shipment. Heck people are trying to sell them on fb marketplace for $500
Charming-Light-7023@reddit
I'm just wondering if I'm picking up mine how long does it actually takes to get and email back for pick up I asked still no response back
ColoradoLowesKC@reddit
I had to pick mine up from a place 30 min from where I live off E Hampden and i literally got there, they had me scan a QR code and fill a few lines out of like my name and my btb # and then I had already paid online and dude looked at my license and brought the bike to my vehicle and then I was asked to scan a QR code to leave a Google review and then I was on my way. It was a very quick process for me at least!
dem003@reddit
Just picked up mine today after waiting since last year
jen7677@reddit
Just got mine today a short while ago so I'm charging the battery and hoping all goes well. It is legit and ya they work out of what looks like an abandoned building. I signed up probably close to 2 years ago myself and I got impatient. I get is free but when I was told they were ready for delivery last September and that it would take them until November until I actually got it I was like ok fine. November came and went and then they just stopped updating me and that's not ok. So I had to email them for updates and that is not ok either because they should be the ones sending updates. So finally I told them I want specific answers because I'm over the whole were working on it bit and them trying to tell me they don't know when they the bikes will come in, I literally told them I call bullshit. You do not run a business and not have any idea when your deliveries are coming. I told them I want my bike and if do not get answers I'm going to start making calls to ppl who will make them give me answers and that changed their tune real quick. They told me what the hold up was and offered me an upgrade because I was supposed to get the S5 that I think was what they first offered and that is how I got the ursus Cub. Within 2 days of their reply I had an email saying my bike was ready for pickup and I was at work and was not able to go but within 2 hours of that I got an email saying they all got taken! I was not happy so they got another email from me telling them that was not cool and not fair to me or others who can't just drop everything to get a bike! I also told them how I'm in Pueblo so they need to hold onto a bike for me next time they get a shipment which they agreed to do. So last night at 7pm I got another email and I was not going that late because I wouldn't get home until midnight and I emailed and called and left messages reminding them of their email and told them I'll be there this morning and they better have my bike or I will not have nice things to say. Needless to say I got there before they opened and there was hardly anyone there so i had no issues but good luck to you all. When I got there I had to fill out some form online and the last part of it is signing to say you got the bike and they wanted me to do it before getting the bike and I straight up told them no I'm not signing it until you give me my bike! Then I had to give them some review on Google. They got 3 stars and I wrote about my experience in general. Get pushy with them if they are not giving answers. It's not ok the way they are doing business and regardless of whether or not we are basically getting this free they need to do right by us and have good customer service.
ColoradoLowesKC@reddit
And it’s not free, regardless of the amount of the rebate we still have to pay the tax amount on these bikes so we should all def be getting what we were told we’d get and within a timely manner! This isn’t the first year they’ve done this so they should have an organized system in place by now you’d think! I couldn’t believe that I received an email a few weeks ago saying my bike was ready and because I couldn’t just drop what I was doing I then get a text a few hours later saying…sorry we missed you, all the bikes are sold out for today but you will be on the next shipment that comes in”…..like that’s crazy that we didn’t have bikes set aside with our info being it’s taken them so long! I applied end of December and finally just got my e bike in hand today!
jen7677@reddit
So much this! The whole thing is so disorganized and the fact that they do not set aside enough for everyone is bonkers. Like don't tell me my bike is ready for pickup if you are just going to give it to someone else who shows up sooner than I can. Just unreal.
Dear_Painting4918@reddit (OP)
Thank you! Excellent advice.
Cultural_Savings_843@reddit
I've been waiting 10 weeks so far I'll let y'all know if I get it ! Good communication with the company but they told me I'll get an upgrade , I'm thinking it might be past the 12 weeks that it says. Hope not though!
Charming-Light-7023@reddit
I paid all fees and it's been 22 weeks and going all I'm getting is some lane apology starting that it's still in queue so I'm still waiting

What I read About the company and the rebate program, seems legit. Found no Complaints about scams. Only people assuming it's a scam. But noone wh I participated said they were scammed.
Urban-hiker-303@reddit
I just picked up my bike from Bear Trail. I signed up for it about this time last year (it was CO E-Bikes then), and almost no communication. I was asked to pay the $39 tax in like August, which I did, and then 2026 arrived and I was certain I’d been scammed. But, it’s not a scam and I have the bike right now and am putting it together! There was a very long line of people to collect, and I’m pretty sure each one also thought they’d been scammed! But it is legit & the guys are super nice and the bike looks great!
Dear_Painting4918@reddit (OP)
My only concern was about the bike lasting cuz I really need transportation
EnanoAD@reddit
I mean for only $50 even if it last a month I’m sure you’ll get your moneys worth. I did the deal for the S7 bike on the last day of the year and still waiting to hear about mine. It said 6-12 weeks so if I don’t get anything then I will contact the bank and get my money back.
blavestayman1@reddit
I just read the FAQs on their site a minute ago and it says "There is no fixed “6–12 week” guarantee." So I'm not sure how long we're supposed to wait... Been 3 months for me.
I also noticed the S7 was $499 discounted to $50 ($450 off), but right now the Ursus Cub is $699 discounted to $75 ($625 off), so a much better deal now, which kind of rubs me the wrong way since the rebate was double then...
It all smells so fishy... I wonder what they're doing with all this money they're collecting and not fulfilling... Should we be contacting the news to investigate? 😅
It
No_Membership2091@reddit
I've contacted the state. They offered me a free upgrade after I cc'd the state in an email... I ordered in October... I just got an email today from them telling me they have gotten a shipment in. I took the upgrade so that's probably why... they're buying cheap bikes from overseas, so the ursus upgrade from the s5 isn't a bad deal. Here's hoping i get it soon.
EngineeringNeither90@reddit
My dad went here and made it soil floor a good deal. Seems sus. Please don’t tell me you have to give $$$
No_Connection6267@reddit
Just got my Ursus Cub today(from facebook market), I am guessing that's the model #. It has a white color frame, and detachable battery on the frame. And here is my 2 cents
1. This is a cheap bike
Start with the frame, it is a light weight frame with no front suspension, but does have disc breaks, and trust me you will want it. The 250W motor is probably ok, for paddle assist bike, but other cheap brands now comes with 350-500W motors, I've yet to test out the amount of assists it can provide; the battery which is one of the more expensive if not the most expensive part, is only 5AH(36v so just 180wh), which is just about the 30-40% capacity comparing to other cheap brands such as(Ancheer); I did not check the controller, but judging by the smaller motor and light weight small capacity battery, I'd say it's probably not the best, and yes, you don't have any display or any throttle.
Overall this is pretty bottom line stuff.
For comparison, the $479 Ancheer Gladiator has 48V 10.4Ah Battery, 500W Motor, Display, throttle, a nightlight, and front suspension. So I will probably put this bike at $300-$350 retail, far from it's advertised $450-700 suggested price tag from different sources.
2. Is it worth the price?
If you get it out right for just paying the sales tax, hack yes! But if you truly qualify for the e-bike tax credit, I'd rather use the credit to shop for something else. hint hint, the Ancheer Gladitor, which is actually not that bad.
But I'd put this at $300-$350 retail, that's how much its worth.
3. How I think this is working
As other people mentioned, the way this runs it's bit sus, and I would agree, but not from my personal experience.
I think they are definitely trying to do this as any business would, and that is the profit from the sale, and you are getting a dirty cheap bike. They might help with filing the paper works, and for exchange, selling a cheap bike at a higher markup. So for someone who doesn't want to file their tax credit, it's ok. For those who does want to get a better bike, and willing to navigate the tax credit claims, I'd go else where.
Hope this helps, and please feel free to share.
EffortSubstantial402@reddit
Finally, a good honest review with some nice details. Thank you!
CapitalCold451@reddit
The bike they are selling, the Ursus Cub is reportedly using a counterfeit UL listing and they are rumored to be defrauding Colorado Energy Office. The shop briefly posted a few major eBike brands on their shopify store with extremely long lead times and then abruptly removed the mainstream brand listings… but kept the marketing photos on the page. Pointing this out because it seems HIGHLY suspect.
Dear_Painting4918@reddit (OP)
So far this is what I know. It definitely takes a long time to get the ebike. But most of the reviews I've read were positive, like took a long time but I'm happy to have my ebike now, works well. I'm hopeful cuz I need transportation that much. I figure a $50 payment is doable and the state is on-board so the odds be with us all.....
PM_ME_UR_GIRLY_PARTS@reddit
Just so you're aware, while I did get my bike, their "reviews" are scummy as they have every single person picking up a bike report 5 stars on Google as they grab their bike. Once I got home I deleted my review, but very little folks are going to do that and write a real review. It's definitely a very low end pedal assist e-bike, but I did in fact get mine as I posted as a reply to someone else on this.
blavestayman1@reddit
How long did you wait in the end?
GlazedFenestration@reddit
I just did a search on UL Product iQ and the company or the bikes are not registered with them

Use the keys to unlock the bracket from the bottom of the battery. The bracket slides off the battery and then you can install the bracket onto the frame! Then the battery can go back onto the bracket.

I just called customer service to talk to a real person about it.
I don't see one for $50, the "free" one is now $75 for taxes... I'm still debating on getting it. My advice is to call customer service and ask questions.
CheyenneDemure@reddit
Update. I bought one today for $75.42. I have to wait 6-12 weeks to be notified when I can go pick it up.
New-Individual-9138@reddit
Good luck with that. I have already been waiting for 12 weeks with no word
blavestayman1@reddit
Take a look at their FAQs, it says the model and the timeline aren't guaranteed...
CheyenneDemure@reddit
I got an email from them saying everything is still going on, it just takes longer since they're only getting "so many" per week. I figure if I get it, yay! If I don't get it, bummer. Hell I've wasted more money on even dumber things in life lol
blavestayman1@reddit
Right on! I think most banks would refund $75 if it were a true scam anyway, so there's really no risk. Just annoying to wait without knowing lol.
CheyenneDemure@reddit

alchemy_junkie@reddit
I bought a bike back in December like many other here. Aside from my initial order confirmation i have heard nothing from them. I called to get an update and someone answered who didn't speak english very well which made communication a bit tough but it also made me question how legit this all was.
She told me id be getting an "upgrade" the the ursus cub with out me giving her any information about my order at all aside from that i placed one in December.
The original bike i ordered was the s7 That ursus cub doesnt seem like an upgrade from the s7 to me. First off all its not foldable second there are no rain guards nor are there any light on it not to mention its the only bike on their site where the battery is not integrated inside the frame.
I bet they got some cheap mountain bikes and just tacked on motors.
Also from a buisness perspective the math aint mathing. If the bike retails for $700 even with a 100% profit margin that would mean the actual cost of the bike would be $350 maybe for the sake of discussion its $325. (Avg profit margin according to a quick google search is 30%) They are currently offering the bike for $74 plus the tax credit of $250 making up the rest to $324. That would mean they are offering the bikes at cost which aside from being a dumb buisness strategy is also incredibly unlikely.
The ursus cub minor price makes buisness sense if it retails for $325 and BTB doubled the price to make it seem like you'rd getting an "uPgRaDe" so that the people who took advantage of the 2025 tax credit didnt realize they were getting bamboozled.
The s7 being foldable and having the the other features were features i wanted that made the bike seem like a good deal. Now i feel like they are clearly trying to bamboozle people to rip off the state. Never mind the fact that paying $50 or $74 towards the cost of the bike means that its not actually free.
I orginally though the the crazy wait time was to make sure they got paid from the government however with the near consisten mention of "upgrades" from previous customerd the whole thing reeks of a ponzi scheme.
Rifter--@reddit
Wanted to throw in my experience so far. Will update if I can get the bike.
I found out about the state rebate literally on December 31st lol. I jumped on Bear Trail Bikes and bought the S7. Said it would be within around 6 weeks.
Just a heads up the rebate is referenced on the Colorado state website, so it seems to be legit. That was the main factor in me pulling the trigger in this. The website also indicated that they'll get us whatever is available, so I might not get the exact bike that I ordered.
I got a confirmation email with an order number, but now that it's March with no update I called BTB, she got a gal on the phone.
She sounded foreign, kinda like a call center person, but that's neither here nor there
I was told that the bikes ordered in December are expected to be available sometime in April and I'll get an email when they're ready. She also told me that the S7 is no longer available, so they upgraded me for free to the URSUS CUB, which seems like a wayyy better bike to me but we'll see...
I'll try to edit this with any updates that I get.
Dear_Painting4918@reddit (OP)
Thanks!
chavacamarena@reddit
I bought one back in December 30th and still haven't received anything. They sent me an email about the s7 not being available anymore and that I would be getting the Ursus model which is not what I wanted since I already have a full size bike. At this point I am not confident they will fulfill my order.
BatmansAlias@reddit
Ordered my bike today. Will report back in a few weeks with what happens, lead time is 6-12 weeks 🤞🏾
blavestayman1@reddit
Their FAQs say the lead time is BS. You likely won't get the model you ordered either as it probably won't be available by the time your order is fulfilled...
Narrow-Alfalfa-3678@reddit
I paid for the S7 which retails for $500 before the credit went to $200, they are claiming they are upgrading but the Urus Cub only retails for $250
Crazy-Swim-2949@reddit
I just got an email about the free 'upgrade' - they offered zero explanation of what the upgrade is, how to take advantage of it, or whether it applies to existing orders awaiting pickup or future purchases... I see the ursus cub on their site right now going for $275 - they are advertising it as 'free', but you are actually still paying $50 of the price remaining after the tax credit. The \~$50 I paid last year was all tax, so that technically qualifies but this does not!
I almost purchased it thinking they would upgrade the new purchase to a better motor or something but now that I have seen this post I am thinking they are pushing a downgraded bike as an 'upgrade'.
I did not want a full sized bike when I purchased mine. I wanted a folding bike. I already have a full-size ebike.
Not sure what's going on here exactly, but I think they may have some lawsuits coming their way. Advertising items as free and then charging for them, doing the bait and switch on people after they ordered. This whole thing is absolutely starting to smell a little fishy.
Narrow-Alfalfa-3678@reddit
Yeah I stopped by last saturday asked about when it will be in they said April, I asked if it was the folding one they said "no its like the orange one" which was an pedal assist mountain bike
Crazy-Swim-2949@reddit
oh. the orange one is still pretty small if it's the one I'm thinking of, but I don't think it folded at the frame which is really what I wanted, but I'd still be happy with that one. I bet the people who paid extra to get the orange one won't be super jazzed about everyone else getting it for $50 though. And them listing the $50 Ursus Cub after the rebate as 'free' is still problematic. Can't imagine the state is going to continue their relationship with this store if they continue this way.
So you only mentioned the Ursus Cub in your first comment to compare last year's 'free' bike to this year's? I initially thought you meant you went in and they told you they were 'upgrading' people to that bike. My mistake.
Crazy-Swim-2949@reddit
I think that was the s5 if it's what I am thinking of, but I wouldn't call it a mountain bike... they must be talking about a different model. The s5 had slightly beefier tires but definitely not a mountain bike lol
Narrow-Alfalfa-3678@reddit
They said
Unfortunately, per our policy, e-bikes are offered based on current availability, and the S7 model is no longer available.
However, please note that the Ursus Cub model is the same price as the S7 and is considered an upgraded, larger model with enhanced features.
Which is not true the S7 retails for $500 and the Cub retails for like $275. I filed for the $450 rebate so they are trying to just pocke the difference plust the $50 I paid?
blavestayman1@reddit
After reading their FAQs I get the impression that nothing is guaranteed except that you'll (hopefully) get a bike...someday. The pricing is BS, the model is BS, the timing is BS. Likely thousands of orders are months if not years backordered, so the way I read it - you get what you get, when you get it... No guarantees and no estimates...

The retail prices don’t really exist, it’s all for marketing purposes. The credit just happens to be enough to reduce the “retail” price to $49, how convenient 😂
Crazy-Swim-2949@reddit
Sounds that way.

I just received a response from an email I sent earlier today asking if I could know where I’m at on the waitlist. They didn’t say but they did say that the free upgrade was for the Urdu’s cube, so I’m not sure how I feel about that either. I was, like you, kinda hyped about the folding option. I don’t have a lot of room to store a full sized bike.
EffortSubstantial402@reddit
Edit: sorry for spelling check. They couldn’t provide where I’m at on the list and it’s the Ursus Cub for the upgrade.
Dismal-Witness-5510@reddit
Are they still that cheap? The state rebate got reduced by $200 at the start of the year. My gf ordered one we still waiting to pick it up.
Huskiesramazing23@reddit
Any update before I go for it?
BuiltByBama@reddit
It’s a scam. Just went through it myself.
blavestayman1@reddit
Kind of feels like they're overpromising and getting annoyed when thousands of people are asking why it's taking almost a year to receive something they've paid for... Surely it's not that hard for a business to provide estimated fulfilment dates...
JesusChristDisagrees@reddit
Need to elaborate my person
BigJimSlade41@reddit
What happened?
Dear_Painting4918@reddit (OP)
Yep, that cheap. Good deal especially if like me, no car. Spend less on lyft, save more for the future.
Vegetable-Ad9954@reddit
I purchased one for my wife 12/23/25 and still waiting. The people who answer can barely speak English , so tough to understand. No updates other than an email 1/20/26. I just called again this morning and they can’t seem to give me any updates as to when the order will be filled. They just keep alluding to the fact that this was a high volume order and just to be patient. I will try an update if I ever received this otherwise I’ll be fighting this charge with my credit card company.

The Bear Trail Bikes “Free E-Bike” program is a bait-and-switch scam. They are using government funds to commit fraud, and the state is already aware. If you have not received the original bike you ordered, contact Sarah Thorne at the Colorado Energy Office immediately and file a report. Bear Trail Bikes is refusing to honor prior orders and is switching models without the purchaser’s consent. Nothing in the original order terms mentioned delays, availability issues, or substitutions. They will refund the deposit, but they refuse to refund or credit the $450 state e-bike rebate. This is a textbook bait-and-switch scheme involving taxpayer dollars.
high-alpine-tundra@reddit
Have you received a response from Sarah with the state by chance?
OkHousing887@reddit
Bear trail bikes is in fact on the approved list of bikes you can buy from for the $225 credit in colorado. See here https://energyoffice.colorado.gov/ebike-tax-credit
That being said this is one of the most affordable bikes I have seen on the list- yet I did not go through all the websites on the list of approved vendors.
It seems legit, yet i have not yet ordered any bike from them yet, but plan on it.
thunderballs303@reddit
Looks too good to be true but its worth taking a shot. Did you ever get your bike?
