Are any of the apps that claim that you can make money from playing games genuine?

I keep seeing ads for these types of apps, is it possible to make money?

I mean, it's hard to say. Most apps wants your personal info and pays by vouchers etc for taking part in various surveys. Risky as heck... Speaking about games, I know only one that has very straightforward cash out system. It's MMO RPG on mobile called Mobile 2 Global. I mean it's very old game but still active on newest Alesta server. You can literally sell your gear or in game money that your earn to other players in trading shop. There is NPC stand in town that you can list your game items to sell for coins and that coins can be withdrawn to PayPal. Straightforward as that - you play hunt for rare items, equipment, or just game money - sell to other players in game - cash out money. Obviously it's not easy, first you need to level up and find strategy to get that valuable items so others want them and but then from you.

I have never tried it myself, but there is supposedly a website called Freecash where the average user cheques out about £30 a day.

Wow. Interesting. I'm tempted to have a look at the reviews on playstore

I would avoid freecash. Their customer support isn’t great if offers don’t track and it’s very difficult to get your money. Scroll through the freecash subreddit or even my profile for examples. I would recommend Swagbucks personally as their customer support is a lot more helpful if there are issues and it’s been running for ages so not as dodgy.

If that were the case, nobody would ever work again. Can’t be the case.

Well not exactly. You can’t live off £30 a day.

My gf used to get a fair amount from mist play. We'd regularly go out to eat because she'd earned a gift card or even just made enough to pay for a meal. Tried it myself and never got anywhere though. The types of games you play make a big difference and typically they were not the sort of games I was into.

I've made quite a bit on Mistplay, you can pick what vouchers you want I usually go for Tesco

I've had just under 100 quid from multiple games on tester up. Guy I work with has over 200 in his account and lifted more. Need to do certain things within a specific timeframe to get the big bucks

I've cashed out £40 from testerup, but it's important to note I don't think I'm earning the money from playing the games. I'm selling my data (you have to select 'allow app to track' when you download) and watching a shit ton of ads in the process. For me, it's worth doing because I'm an adhd chaos gremlin who loves mobile games and I am unemployed and broke.

Fair enough. I don't think I like their terms though. And, yeah I know I'm probably being tracked anyway. I just don't want to consent to it..

I think that's very very fair!

Yes, I used one and ended up cashing out 3 x £10 Amazon vouchers. However, you do need to invest a lot of time. It's best to switch between different games because you get diminishing returns earning credits on each game. The games are not great and tend to be the pay to win type games. The developers of the games are prepared to spend some money with these types of apps because they're looking for new "whales' Whales are what they call those 0.1% of players who will spend big money on a game consistently over a long period of time and it's how they make their money. Is it worth your time? Possibly, you can get some rewards, it depends how much you value your time.

> Whales are what they call those 0.1% of players who will spend big money Also refers to wealthy punter/significant catch in the same way...or so I learned from *Anora*.

Thanks for your reply. Thankfully I'm not who the developers are looking for.

I highly doubt it.

That's what I was thinking too, so I thought I'd see if anyone was making the kind of money the ads claim.

I play games using these apps, I have made money from them but it is nothing like they make out. I would probably say I have had about £60 to £80 in mainly Sainsburys or Amazon vouchers and that's about it over probably a year. I will admit I do not play games for that purpose, really mostly when I can't sleep. Even if you did spend hours per night doing them, it still would probably not make loads as the further along in the games you are, the harder it is to progress towards the next pay level.

Was using one for a little while. It’s possible to get money out of it. But the time and effort put in to no lifing a generally shit game to get the higher rewards made it not worth it to me.
