Do you like mince pie?

You can make mincemeat slice too which is much easier: sheet of pastry on a baking sheet, spread on mincemeat, sheet of pastry on top, bake, slice into squares. If you can be bothered, an egg wash and sprinkle with sugar (and cinnamon if you fancy it) makes it even better. If you want to go all out you can also zhuzh up the bought filling with a few basic additions - e.g. I might add some candied orange peel and chopped crystallised ginger, which just makes it a bit fresher tasting. Or you could grate in orange zest for the same effect. Glace cherries (halved, if doing the slice) are also never a problem, and perhaps a few chopped whole almonds for texture.
