No Work in Australia?

So me and my girlfriend are currently travelling Southeast Asia and having a great time, we plan on heading to Australia in June with our holiday working visas. Before the trip we done tons of research and everywhere we read and everyone we spoke to said that finding work is super easy and that there's loads of places calling out for backpackers. We also see plenty of Facebook pages and websites recommend that we have joined which are useful for finding work. Originally we planned on starting in cairns and moving down the coast with the weather. However June is approaching and we have been keeping a eye on the websites and pages even applying for the odd jobs that have a start date of June but all we keep seeing is tons of people posting about how there is currently too many backpackers and not enough work for people especially in the cairns area so much so that people are leaving looking for work elsewhere. We are wondering if anyone on here has any advice? Maybe some suggestions of other areas where there may be more work or any suggestions of farms/companies to reach out to that may have upcoming work. Any help would be appreciated 😊
