Things were going really good in the late 90s. The early 90s recession was forgotten about. OJ was no longer making news. The LA riots and Biggie/2pac murders were no longer making headlines. A Federal building hadn't even been blown up by a truck bomb in 5 years! Iraq had already lost 2 wars, they couldn't possibly lose another war, right? Then 9/11/2001 hit and reality shifted.
