Does being signed off work actually help? What did you do in your time?

I got signed off work for a month yesterday due to stress and burnout. I was working 50+ hours a week instead of 9-5, doing three people jobs instead of one. The past 3 months have been hell, crying, panic attacks and it got to the point this week I hadn’t slept in 4 days from stress from a mistake I made. I work in marketing so it’s ridiculous to feel like this. I have been signed off for a month. My question is - did you actually find it worth it? My company is great and very sympathetic, and usually I love my job but I can’t help feel like the last 3 months is my reality now. I just am not sure what will change by taking the time off and it will just be back on the master wheel. Also any ideas on what to do are appreciated.
