What was “the incident” at your high school?

We lost most of our starting volleyball players, the head cheerleaders, and initially the starting football players. All were suspended due to a drinking incident. Let's get some context: At our small Catholic high school, there was the usual homecoming shenanigans. The tradition was someone old enough would get a hotel room and, after the homecoming ceremonies, seniors would go to the hotel room and party. It was well known enough that sometimes parents would show up in the morning to wake their kid up if they had work the next day. Well, everything started badly when some of the girls decided to start early. They showed up to homecoming clearly drunk. And because the football team was late getting showered and dressed from the game, some of these girls were already passing out on the tables in the room we were waiting in. Homecoming ceremony happens and said girls are a little too loud and enthusiastic. Funny thing is that most of us didn't end up at the hotel room afterward. Most of us went to a house owned by one of the previous year's graduates. This was one of two times I ended up at a party (or even drinking) in high school. On Monday, we got called to the school library. Didn't think anything of it, probably another college presentation. Instead we were told there were "disturbing reports of underage drinking" at Homecoming. Long story short, a bunch of people, including myself, were suspended from extra-curricular activities for... a month, I believe it was. I laughed my ass off because I didn't play sports and rarely went to games or much else. Lots of Senior Varsity members suddenly couldn't play. Later, some of the football players went down to the superintendent's office to explain that they had 'misunderstood the question'. The superintendent, a man of God and obviously concerned more about his students' souls than winning football games.... j/k... he reinstated all of them, so it was mostly the girls teams that suffered. Word had it that one of the mothers was mad that "her little girl" didn't get to be homecoming queen and ratted out everyone. Never found out if it was true, but I'd believe it. Either that, or it was the passed out girls in the waiting room. Side note that, because it affect high school sports, this got reported on the local news, complete with a camera crew taking b-roll of the school's exterior. The superintendent came out and chased them away. He claimed it was proof of an anti-Catholic bias in the town.
