Moving to Tottenham, North London. Any suggestions where in Tottenham to settle?

Is Tottenham a gentrified area and safe? Ive heard that it gets stereotyped as crime ridden or rough. But it has great transport connections: Victoria line to central London in under 15 mins, Stansted Express, Greater Anglia to Liverpool Street, bus connections. Which areas should I stick with? Is Tottenham really dodgy as a whole?

Tottenham and its environs are great for clubs, warehouse parties etc. It's always promising to gentrify, but never really does, which is a good thing for nightlife. The neighbourhood's a lot of fun.
(and if you want to have a laugh, they have a football team too...COYG)

I’ve lived in Tottenham 5 years and Hackney 5 years, IMO they are as safe as each other. Tottenham gets a bad rap for being “unsafe” but it’s just like any other borough of London that is developing. The people here are kind & funny and there’s a huge community feel - people look after each other. Yes you get the odd crazy people about but that’s the same in the rest of London!
Area guide to Tottenham Bruce Grove - retail hub & historic housing stock I would look in the Bruce Grove LTN area for residential living. Bruce Grove Park is lovely and easy access to all other green areas of Tottenham eg Lordship Rec. Also you’d live next to San Marco which is IMO the gem of Tottenham. Seven Sisters - big transport hub, have Phillip Lane & West Green Road which have plenty of great businesses - also close to Downshill Park. Mix of everyone: families and young people. Tottenham Hale - rapidly regenerating, lots of flats and new businesses popping up. Nice to be near the canal too - also check out the Wetlands which is beautiful. Lots of young people! South Tottenham & Northumberland Park I don’t know so well so can’t comment.
All have great transport links which is a huge plus for the area. So easy to get anywhere.
If you’re worried about “saftey” or vibe of the area visit San Marco, Chukus, The High Cross on a Saturday night OR With Milk, Stonebridge Lock Waterside Cafe, The Hub @ Lorship Rec, The Ferry Inn on a Saturday afternoon - all loved Tottenham Businesses - and you’ll see it’s a friendly place.

Seven Sisters is very chill, lovely and welcoming community. great parks and transit links. Not very quiet though which is a plus for some, downside for others!

Around Tottenham hale tube is probably your best bet.

Oh I see. What about the area around Northumberland Park, Bruce Grove or Stadium? And do you have a flat or Terraced house in mind?
KnockOneOut178@reddit
Northumberland park area is alright tbf. Tottenham is better than it used to be, it’s not like the Tottenham of 30/40 years ago. It get’s a worse rep than it should have.
There are other places that are more of a dump in London for sure.

Any areas near Tottenham and its surroundings that are better?
Opposite_Warning_920@reddit
All areas in London aren't far from shit.

You'll be fine Connor, Although you should have returned to Selhurst.

Seven Sisters is a bit nicer than around the Hale

Chingford isn't far away and is much nicer IMO.

In what ways? In safety only?

Majority of London can be described as “crime ridden” or “rough”, don’t bring your bad vibes to our community.
